Great news Yia xx
Found out today, can't take it in
Welcome!
Thank you for all your support, especially of late. I greatly appreciate your patience. You are truly the best.
Buffet is open. For those who enjoy a glass of bubbly, there is plenty in the chill cabinet.
Enjoy!
I must away for a wee while. I shall catch up later.
Great news Yia xx
YiaYia and DH, I'm delighted for you both, what wonderful news! 💕🙏
Just dropping in to say wonderful news * YIA* .
* Soop* another worry for you (((hugs)).
A lazy day in the Soop residence. We've played Scrabble I won today, but it has to be said that Mr Soop won yesterday's match. Such good fun. It cheers us greatly.
Now I am about to mount my bike to no place. Exercise for thirty minutes to the vocals of Frank Sinatra. After which, we like to watch 'The Chase' and pit our wits against the contestants.
One more pic of son (on the right) taken in the early days of the Monkey Run across the Sahara, to raise funds for charity.
I wish you all a peaceful and pleasant weekend.

Wonderful news Yia. Positive thoughts now for the future.
Good wishes for all others with troubles.
Wishing all Grandnetters a happy weekend
‘Evening All’.
Curtain man came today and we are now cosy with cleaned voiles and drapes hung back up. Looks very nice.
It’s gone chilly this past hour. Drizzled earlier. Himself has put his ‘big coat’ on and gone to stand in a field (Astro turf I suppose) to watch the Boy Wonder at his football training session.
I channelled my inner Delia this afternoon and made this pan of beef stew for when he gets back. Just added the Lea & Perrins. 😉
I had my Covid job at lunchtime, arm is becoming sore and I feel a bit out of sorts
I must pull myself together as we are off out to dinner later (favourite Malaysian restaurant up the road)
FGT2 beef stew yummy (my grandmas used to make delicious stews with dumpling’s)
That looks very nice FGT2,perfect for a chilly evening.
Sorry you have more problems Soop and hope it can be sorted very soon.
Thank you all for your kind comments yesterday,DH is feeling a bit overwhelmed but thankful. He was told he will be having three monthly checks but in the mean time just trying to get back to a normal life.Have a good evening all.
Looks tasty FGT Mr J is on sausage and mash duty, we’re just in from the pub, it’ll be good to get back to our local on Sunday.
I had a letter today from a bank, I had a credit card with them over 20 years ago, they owe me £1, 235, after checking it wasn’t some sort of scam I filled in the form, a welcome surprise.
Out for a walk today after a misty start, I could smell Autumn for the first time.
A sense of wonderment Yia.
What a fabulous surprise Jax! Enjoy spending it. 😁
Thank you for the sympathy for my sore shoulder. I think it may be a little less painful today, I’ve only taken one dose of pain relief so far. A good friend now has the same thing, though. Is it catching?? 👀
Have you heard any more from DS, Soop? An old friend of ours once wanted Dh to accompany him on that Paris Dakar race. Quite frankly, it wasn’t safe to be driven down the High Street by him, so there was no way Dh was ever going to agree to that! 🤣🤣
I note potatoes in your beef stew, FGT. Even after 50+ years of marriage Dh and I still haven’t come to an agreement as to whether potatoes should be cooked in the stew or separately. 😁
Wow, that was a great way to start to weekend, Jax! Spend it wisely!
Dh had his Covid & flu jabs today. No side effects so far. We’ve bimbled around, done things like put recycling into the garage to go to the dump, posted a parcel, made phone calls and so on. When we were out I treated myself to a Christmas magazine and now I’m feeling a bit of Christmas spirit. Yes, I know it’s October but if it cheers us up, why not?
No plans for the weekend but DD may visit us at some point.
Night night, all. Xxx
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.🥰
Enjoy your Malaysian meal, GG13, hope you feel OK after your jags.
Great news, Jaxjacky, treat yourselves!
Your dinner looks delicious, FGT, enjoy!
We're home now after a great wee break in Pitlochry. We met up with the Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy on Wednesday, they were staying in a lodge park with family entertainment for the school holidays. We had a great afternoon at Blair Castle and Gardens, the staff were excellent at helping DH with accessibility with his mobility scooter so we had a good visit then we saw the piper, enjoyed the gardens and the adventure playground. Yesterday we navigated a busy, bustling Pitlochry high street, visiting the woollen Mill shops, charity shops and the Christmas Emporium. The streets still have wonderful floral arrangements in baskets and tubs, and shops have stunning autumn/ Halloween displays in their windows. A very pretty Highland town indeed.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA, NNGB.
Hello 👋, SueD, crossed posts! I'm glad your shoulder is a bit more comfortable today.
I note potatoes in your beef stew, FGT. Even after 50+ years of marriage Dh and I still haven’t come to an agreement as to whether potatoes should be cooked in the stew or separately
Anything for an easy life, that’s me SueDonim! One pot cooking.
#lazygran
What a lovely surprise Jax hope you’re going to treat yourselves!
Another gorgeous day here, no rain and lots of sunshine making the autumn colours look so beautiful. We enjoyed simple pleasures of a riverside walk, a wander around a garden, listening to the birds and a cup of tea and a scone in a NT cafe. Back to the cottage to eat in this evening and enjoy a glass of wine.
Your break In Pitlochry sounds really enjoyable grannmarie and Blair Castle too! Thanks for the pictures
Good looking dinner there Fgt well done you 👍
Grannmarie and brook great pictures from you both, thank you, I’ve missed Scotland.
I’m pleased you’ve some improvement SueD 🤞it continues, MrJ had both of his jabs this morning in the same arm, not even a twinge so far.
Good night all 😴
Well, we’re back on the mothership!
From when we left the ship at 7 am to getting to Heathrow at 2 pm ish, the whole thing was a nightmare! But we’re home. Marseille airport only gave announcement in French so it wasn’t until we were on the plane 2 hours late that the English crew explained there was fog at Heathrow.
It was lovely to see elder son at the airport and he drove us home.
Younger son, who ended up working from our home until yesterday (our friend who usually feeds the cats had to go away at the last minute) had left the house beautifully tidy, bought flowers for me and put money in my bank account as he had eaten most of my home-made ice cream!
Phew!
Pleased you’re home ladylfl. An experience for sure.
Good to hear your arm is less painful sued. I was wondering whether to risk next weeks covid jab in a painful arm and shoulder (rotator cuff injury) or use the other one which absorbed the flu jab last week without protest. You’ve reassured me jax. The same arm it is.
That’s a restful, calm image brook. It poured for most of the day here on Friday, I’m envious. We are promised better things for Saturday though 🤞.
It’s not a night for sleep for me. Irritating but it happens. Back to the book, at least I can stay in bed and read on my iPad.
Hope everyone is resting well.
Glad to hear you’re home safe LLFL I remember a few years ago there were no Danube cruises for a while as there wasn’t enough water!
Just popping into say Good Morning to all you lovely ladies and thank you to you ALL for your kind messages. I’m trying hard to pick myself up, hard as it is. I do hope those of you struggling with what life throws at you are managing…..🙏 to you ALL……
Yia….lovely news, you and your DH must be elated ❤️.
I’m going to watch my granddaughter in a concert this evening, so proud of her.
Yesterday a friend treated me to an afternoon out at Sissinghurst where we listened to a fabulous talk with Arit Anderson, she was delightful.
Lovely to read about all your comings and goings……enjoy!!
Also love to those waiting for hospital appointments, hope the waiting isn’t too long.
Please take care and love to you all. 🌹🌹
Hello to all you lovely lot. A group hug with NannyG4 at the centre.
Youngest son (middle of group) crossed the finishing line earlier this afternoon. He wrote, "The Three Monketeers cross the finish line after 900km of Sahara, Atlas & assorted toilets - on a 49cc supermarket shopping basket on wheels".
Bravo!
Bravo indeed soop. Hasn’t he done well?
A hug coming your way nannyg4, take it slowly and gently.
The sun has shone today and we’ve been out and about, found many minor roads flooded but passable. What is usually a slow moving, tiny river a raging torrent today. It was good to get out. Enjoyed a coffee looking at a dramatic view and a snack lunch in a garden centre, not our favourite cafe it has to be said although the garden centre itself is good. The rest of today and I suspect tomorrow will be quiet, we are forecast more wet stuff so no incentive to wander forth. As on Monday I really, really, really want to go to a shopping centre a quiet day will be no bad thing. Energy still needs rationing.
Have the best weekend you can everyone.
Indeed, Bravo to your son soop. A wonderful achievement!
Well done to your son soop.
nannyg4 well done to you for going to Sissinghurst with your friend, and enjoy your granddaughter’s concert this evening. You are really doing well in going out and about again. Take it one day at a time and be kind to yourself. We’re all here for you and many of us have been (or are in) the same situation.
corner I hope you manage to get out to the shopping centre on Monday.
Pleasant afternoon here after more rain this morning. DD2 came this afternoon with littlest, who had a good time playing with some of the toys I have here. Moved some dust around in my bedroom and did a little ironing. Will do more tomorrow.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
