Welcome!

Thank you for all your support, especially of late. I greatly appreciate your patience. You are truly the best.

Buffet is open. For those who enjoy a glass of bubbly, there is plenty in the chill cabinet.

Enjoy!

I must away for a wee while. I shall catch up later. flowers

Delighted to hear your good news Yia.

Glad you enjoyed Hadrian's Wall Brook It was one of the places I visited when I first visited the North-east. I told DH I'd be happy to move from the south if we could live near there, although we actually ended up in the North Pennines.

Love and best wishes to everyone awaiting medical appointments/news.

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Oct-24 13:53:59

Yiayia what wonderful news! I'm so happy for you all.
I'm lying down at the moment with a dodgy tum. I've made a loaf, tidied the kitchen and hoovered throughout so I feel quite justified.

GrandmaC47 Thu 17-Oct-24 13:54:44

Wonderful news Yia so pleased for you both 🍾

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 17-Oct-24 13:57:23

I can imagine your joy Yia! You’ll both be walking on Cloud 9. There’s nothing like good news after a serious health scare. It recalibrates one’s priorities in life that’s for sure. I’m so delighted for you both. Fantastic news.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 17-Oct-24 14:05:33

YiaYia4 what wonderful uplifting news, thank you for sharing this with the kitchen 😘

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 17-Oct-24 14:13:20

Thank you for sharing your very welcome good news, YiaYia.

Warm thoughts for all in this friendly, caring kitchen. x

brook2704 Thu 17-Oct-24 16:26:17

Such wonderful news Yia I’m so pleased for you both ❤️

brook2704 Thu 17-Oct-24 16:27:25

Oh my goodness llfl I’m hoping things have improved a bit by now and there’s a plan for tomorrow, do let us know please!

Naughtyneine Thu 17-Oct-24 16:49:32

Oh Yia.. that is just the best news. How absolutely wonderful for you both. Onwards and upwards now for sure.
Soop...like LLFL...I had breast pain recently too and mine too was muscular..probably caused by the exercises I had been dubbed at the wellness suite and being used as a springboard by the puppy when getting down from the back of the sofa.!!!!!
Redcar... Not long now and you will be feeling sooo much better and pain free too.
Granmarie..I went on my geography field course to Kindrogan House...many years ago. I've never forgotten it. I washed my hair in a stream close to the
hostel. It took a week it felt for it to thaw out. Somewhere in my box of memories is my train ticket.
GrandmaB...snap my tummy is out of sorts too. The IBS is always worst 5 days after a stressful period and yep bang on after last week's episodes it started. I hope you feel better soon.
Brook...it all sounds a perfect break before the weather really turns...mind you I think it was Marydoll on the morning thread who posted recently that it was -1 in Glasgow one morning last week. I did actually shriek when I read that....
I've actually just come in from sitting out in the sunshine...it was lovely ( what is all this about not writing lovely?). I'm hoping for more of the same tomorrow.
Love to all not mentioned. I have discovered if you scroll back to a previous page you lose what you have written so far... I'm going to have to get a pen and pad and write down posters and their activities as my blonde brain can't remember. 😂

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 17-Oct-24 16:57:28

An early ‘Evening All’. Himself has gone to watch the Boy Wonder in his football training session. It’s sunny here (still) and unseasonably warm. Nice. So as it’s past the yardarm (well it’s 5 o’clock somewhere 🎵 🎶) I’m going to take myself down to the bar below us and enjoy a glass of chilled white, taking my new book with me. It’s highly entertaining if you are of a certain political persuasion. 😉

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 17-Oct-24 17:13:19

But would you class it as fiction, FGT2?

gillgran Thu 17-Oct-24 18:14:39

Good looking coffee table, FGT. Beautiful flowers, & are those peaches, or lovely red apples? To complete it your new, entertaining book! wink

GrannyGravy13 Thu 17-Oct-24 18:26:14

Hi, well today I accomplished everything I didn’t yesterday - yippee

We have the 9yr old here, he is of course having his favourite dinner (steak, sautéed potatoes, mushrooms and coleslaw) just steak and salad for me, DH will have the same as GS without coleslaw.

I will look forward to your book review FGT2 I will probably get it for my kindle, cheers I am also partaking of a chilled white 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Thu 17-Oct-24 18:46:02

I hope tomorrow your trip home isn’t delayed LLFL.
I’ve potted up violas, cleaned my car, including the inside of the windscreen and washed the kitchen floors.
My daughter just called in as grandson is at football training, we shared a 🥂 GG13, she’s had a hectic day, now gone to sort their dinner.
All Creatures tonight, that’ll do, I’ll peek out and see if the Super moon is visible in the east.

GrannySomerset Thu 17-Oct-24 19:08:28

Delighted to read Yia’s good news - bet she’ll sleep tonight! Have had a dull but useful day (paper work, clothes sorting) so will have a glass of wine with All Creatures. I must be feeling better.

cornergran Thu 17-Oct-24 19:09:16

That’s such wonderful news yia.

If you must be stuck somewhere that’s doesn’t sound too bad ladylfl while of course you’d rather no change to your plans. Hope tomorrow brings good news.

Sunny day here saw us having a short walk by the sea with a long sit down for a coffee. Took ourselves out for lunch too, a very decent day until our front door decided not to close. It seems to have dropped. We eventually got it closed and will be using the side entrance and back door until we can find a door fixer. Always something.

Mr C says we’ll try TaiChi tomorrow, suspect a sitting down session for me but he’s right, worth a try.

Feet up time here now. Have a good evening everyone.

SueDonim Thu 17-Oct-24 20:46:02

That’s just the best news, Yia! I hope you’re now having a relaxing evening.
I think my coffee table might collapse under the weight of that tome, FGT. grin
flowers for those with upset tummies.
LLFL I hope you manage to get home soon.

I’m still suffering with my shoulder today. I’ve decided to keep the appt at my surgery on Monday in the hope they’ll give me a more effective painkiller if it’s still bad. I went out to the soft play place, which was fine. Oddly, the most difficult bit was sitting in DD’s car, it was v painful.

I had some conversations with people today about dh’s investigations. He’s waiting for a biopsy to be done but time is ticking by and we’ve heard nothing about a date yet. It’s already been six weeks - how much longer?? I hope that making a few waves, or rather someone making them on our behalf, will be productive.

Sweet dreams, all. Xx

Forgot pictures!

brook2704 Thu 17-Oct-24 21:00:12

Gorgeous pictures Jax Thanks for sharing 👍

Redcar Thu 17-Oct-24 21:00:22

yia that’s wonderful news! I hope you can both relax and enjoy yourselves now.
suedonim your shoulder sounds horribly painful. It’s probably best to keep the appointment at your surgery, I hope they can prescribe some more effective painkillers for you.
llfl I hope you’ve managed to enjoy the Captain’s Cocktail party and Captain’s dinner this evening. Hopefully Riviera have a plan b to get you all home despite the floods.
I’ve done very little today, I slept badly last night, but went shopping on my way to DD1s, where I was looking after the dog. DD1 and her husband were later home than she’d hoped, Fortunately they were in time to collect the granddaughters from after school club.
I really will go to the garden centre in the morning, then have to clean the kitchen before the hairdresser comes in the afternoon.
Have a peaceful evening. Night night.

brook2704 Thu 17-Oct-24 21:15:02

Hoping your DH gets an appointment soon SueD and your shoulder pain gets better too 💐

We’ve been on a long walk in Keilder today, lots of sunshine and autumn colours, nature at its best and good for the soul. My legs are tired so I’m having an early night before more adventures tomorrow. DH is reading in the lounge, there’s a log burner here but it’s so warm we’ve not used it

Hope you get your door fixed ok corner like you say there’s always something - same here

Love to all in the quiet corner, especially nannyG4 and Doodle ❤️

soop Thu 17-Oct-24 23:15:13

Yia Reading your wonderful news was a proper tonic. I am delighted for your dear husband. I am equally relieved for you. flowers

SueD Pain can be extremely debilitating. I am sending healing vibes to help you recover.

Brook That anyone would wantonly destroy a beautiful tree leaves me speechless with anger.

Llfl A buggeration on the high seas. Count your blessings, relax and enjoy a leisurely read.

NannyG4 You, my dear lady, are never far from my thoughts. flowers

Would muscle strain, if that is what it is, present itself with a "shadow" on my X-ray? GP said to await a phone call or letter asap. Having waited what seems like a very long time for Mr Soop's more important surgery, I wish that we had funds to go private and get on with whatever treatment is required. It's the not knowing that is hardest. Once we're fully in the picture, we will gird our loins and get on with matters with a positive mental attitude.

Night night. Sleep tight. smile moon
