Welcome!
Thank you for all your support, especially of late. I greatly appreciate your patience. You are truly the best.
Buffet is open. For those who enjoy a glass of bubbly, there is plenty in the chill cabinet.
Enjoy!
I must away for a wee while. I shall catch up later.
That sky FGT, bloomin gorgeous!
Hello kitchen people. That’s good news Soop. Onwards and upwards.
I’ve had a quiet day today. Elder son and his family went back to London this morning. Granddaughter had a skiing lesson. She told me she didn’t like skiing…
I must go and visit a friend tomorrow who fell flat on his face the other day, broke a tooth and has multiple abrasions. He sent a photo. Not a pretty sight
. His wife is having a hip replacement on Tuesday.
Sleep 💤 tight.
soop there us nothing like a night in your own bed and you should sleep well having received such good news.
brook if your DH has had any joint replacements please remind your GP because frequently extra antibiotics are given.
Fireworks have been going off here for days and today they started early pm and are still being set off. What a waste of money.
Delighted to read Soop’s encouraging news and hope enjoy a peaceful rest of the weekend. Have had a happy day doing not much with DD and lovely DSiL and they cooked a delicious lamb supper to which we asked my next door but one friend, so it was a jolly evening. I have made it very clear that. I don’t want their Christmas plans to revolve around me and as they have a friend’s 60th birthday party at the end of December they can combine a visit to me with travelling on to that, so everyone is happy.
Meantime we have occasional bangs and pops but far less than usual unless people are saving it until 5 November - as they should, of course.
That sounds positive soop, hope there’s a date for mr soop very soon. I’m sure you’ll both be sound asleep now you’re back home.
My sleep issue has been with me for over 30 years jax, not new. It arrived with a fibromyalgia diagnosis which has just been re-diagnosed as systemic lupus. Or has this week. Who knows what next week will bring? It’s fine now I’m not working and can manage without a functioning brain
. I do have good nights and just accept the bad getting lots of reading done.
No fireworks locally yet, I’m quite surprised. All waiting for 5th maybe.
That’s quite some sky fgt, grey and heavy here today and forecast for the next week. Please send some blue this way.
Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight.
Evening Kitcheners from The Isle of Wight.
It’s been very overcast but dry here.I waved to you from the ferry Jax. We have a very nice hotel in Shanklin, the views from our room are lovely and the food is excellent.
Very pleased you had good news Soop and wishing my fellow scopio, dear Mr Soop a very happy birthday.🎉🎂🎁🥃
FGT I remember that roundabout very well from last year's holiday! I hope you are still enjoying yourselves.
An unexpected visit from dd and the boys this morning. She wanted to go to Aldi and dropped off the boys to get peace to shop, then brought back lime curd buns for her and me. Yum. All the housework and washing is done and I've made a lasagne for dinner. I was at Aldi early today too, so the cupboards are full. I visited mum this afternoon and she was able to talk a little. All the best to you kitchen folk.
I apologise to you lovely lot. I did say that I would return to the kitchen later yesterday afternoon. I did not because our neighbours invited us in for a chat etc., mid-afternoon. We returned home mid-evening!
Today has been busy what with plenty of phone calls, some from Mr Soop's family in Australia and an outing with our pals in the village. We took an elderly camera out with us. They took a lovely photo and, guess what? We cannot download the image because we cannot locate the thingy that we need to get the image from camera on to the desktop.
It therefore appears that we need to purchase a new thingymajig. You'll know what I mean. You lot are tech-savvy.
Once again, I've not caught up with all the news. Hopefully, within the next day or so, I'll have done so.
A game of birthday Scrabble awaits. I hope that the birthday boy wins in style.
Night night. All good wishes winging their way to you from bonnie Kintyre.

Jax Happy anniversary to you and your husband. Enjoy your celebrations.
Happy Anniversary Jax...
I'm so pleased that's there has been good news for you Soop and Mr Soop...it was worth the 300 mile trip. Well done Mr S and Happy Birthday too. Hopefully the fish and chips was up to scratch as well.
Yia...enjoy your break and fingers crossed the weather brightens up for you and Mr Y.
LlFL.I found a lovely piece about the tradition of 'telling the bees'. I wondered if you and OH might like to read it.
Corner...I feel for you re sleep. I hate those nights where you wake way to early and then wan to to drift back off just before it's time to get up. It normally happens to me when I've got a tricky project at work the next day.
GrandmaB...lime curd... That's a new one... I'll be on the look out for them.
It's been an eventful 24 hours.... I'll post my description of the latest foray in Henrietta Moho later.
Happy anniversary, Jax! Gorgeous roses. 🌹
Gorgeous sea views, Yia.
You must be feeling so relieved at the news from your appointment, Soop, and I hope Mr S soon gets a date for surgery. Happy birthday to him, too! 🎂
Hope Mr B is making progress, Brook.
Very little in the way of Xmas prep has occurred here, Topsy. I need to get a move on.
I want that roundabout FGT! Well, not the actual roundabout but I think its decor would look most decorative in my garden.
Sorry to hear your diagnosis Cornergran. Maybe it will lead to new remedies, though?
We’ve had a pleasant weekend. A village fireworks display yesterday which was a delight, and snacks and mulled wine at my DD’s house afterwards. Today I’ve had a friend round, we visited the GC next door then had tea and cakes here. Dd2 is about to arrive for a few days so we’re looking forward to that. Finally, the weather in our part of Scotland has been beautiful today, such blue skies! Here’s a photo with skeins of noisy geese flying overhead.
‘Evening All’.
We’ve had pretty much a ‘home day’ today. Well apart from coffee and toasties in Juan’s at noon, back up after calling at the garage up the road that has a small ‘Super Cor’ as we needed tuna to go with pasta and sauce for dinner tonight.
While in there I took a couple of photos. I know. I’m sad that way. I do enjoy looking around the produce on the shelves in Spanish supermarkets (and sometimes trying to work out what’s in the tins!).
We came home for the afternoon then went downstairs into Pedro’s where I enjoyed a nice crisp G&T. All in all a lovely relaxing day with three phone calls - one from each daughter and me to my stepfather. 😊
Hi, just back from an underworld late lunch, such a shame front of house staff are excellent, shame the chef isn’t.
Happy Birthday Mr.shop 🥂🎂
I learned the Spanish word for ‘peanuts’ in the bar this afternoon. I asked Nelly for some with my G&T (no wonder the diet isn’t producing results !). It makes me smile to say ‘Cacahuete’
Sounds like ‘caca-wetta’ when you pronounce it.
Jax happy anniversary to you both.
Good news Soop and happy birthday wishes to Mr Soop
Yia have a lovely break you deserve it.
Been to a memorial service at church this afternoon for those who have died. It was very emotional. I had both sons, my DIL (the other one has throat infection) and DGS with me and we all lit candles. Service was lovely but the songs and the “I will miss you” Reading really had the tears flowing.
Back home now with a large 🍷.
Take care all.
Happy Birthday MrSoop, hope you've enjoyed your day.

Congratulations on your anniversary to you & your DH Jaxjacky,

Warm thoughts to all in this friendly haven. x
Happy Anniversary to Mr Mrs Jax🥂🎉
A late if heartfelt happy birthday to mr soop.
Anniversary wishes to you both jax. Those roses are beautiful.
I’ve a GP appointment next week to discuss the surprise diagnosis sued. It’s all very odd, bloods run by the Eye Hospital have shown lupus markers, I’m still trying to work out why they would test for it. Could all be a mistake, who knows.
Lovely view yia. All these holiday images are giving me itchy feet.
A glass of dry white is waiting for me, wishing you all a good evening and peaceful sleep.

Wishing MrSoop a very Happy Birthday today! 🎂🍷🥂, sorry it’s late!
Doodle sending ❤️
Thank you Charleygirl, my DH did have a new knee replacement last year so I’ll make sure he reminds the GP - I’d not thought of that so thanks again x
A difficult, but heart warming day Doodle ❤️
It all sounds a little odd corner I hope you get a definitive answer next week, you do so well adapting to your sleep situation.
You’ve got similar sky to FGT SueD, just a few degrees difference 🙂
Thank you all, we’ve had a smashing day x
Doodle…we have our memorial All Souls Service in our church tomorrow evening, tissues will be at the ready…… also a service at the hospice in a few weeks….😢😢.
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Jax. Happy Birthday to Mr Soop and love to Mrs Soop.
FGT and Yia enjoy your breaks.
I’ve had a pleasant day, helped my friend who runs a flower farm with a Workshop and then friends invited me for supper…..and I woke up this morning and didn’t want to face the world, so pleased I did.
Hope all of you with struggles can find strength. Love and prayers to you lovely ladies ❤️🙏🌹
Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s cloudy but dry up here in Inverness. I hung the washing out first thing but it’s still hanging there looking miserable so I’ll bring it in soon and put the bedding in the tumble drier and the rest on the airer. We had DGS to stay over last night, he was really good company. In between him playing on his switch we got a couple of games of chess in, a game of gin rummy and a game of ticket to ride so that took up most of the evening but I managed to catch up on the Strictly results just before going to bed
I’ll be thinking of you at the memorial service this evening nannyG4, you too Doodle
Hope you get some clear answers from the GP this week corner and your mind put at rest
I think those noisy geese have arrived up here SueD I saw lots of them this morning. Have a great time with your DD2 and hope you get out and about somewhere
Hugs to all in the quiet corner today ❤️
