MrSoop is safely home after - I quote: "a buggeration of a time". Now needing much rest. I told soop many of you were anxious for news and was given permission to pass this on.

I am so sorry to hear that Mr soop has had such a rough time.Hopefully he will recover quickly now he is home🙏🏻

This morning, along with several friends and former colleagues, I attended the funeral Mass of the retired janitor of the school I taught in for 32 years. He was loved by staff and pupils alike, a lovely man and a brilliant "Jannie". He was a great reader of crime fiction and used to pass on his Jack Reacher, Alex Cross and Lincoln Rhyme books to me, introducing me to that genre. A day of many memories.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening. I have discovered the final ( fourth) season of the Elena Ferrante Neapolitan novels on Sky, I'm back to binge watching but I will be sorry when this exquisite series comes to an end. 📺 🍷😍

I can feel Marydoll’s frustration - it is maddening when one’s carefully crafted prose vanishes. Nothing interesting to report here where keeping warm seems to be a full time job - and it’s only November.

Life is trundling on, some good days and bad days. As Christmas gets nearer, I’m becoming more anxious…….

I hope those with poorly partners/husbands are taking care and looking themselves and life is as good as it can be.

I’m just getting ready to go to a weekend wind down yoga evening, I’ve been once before and it is a lovely relaxing evening.

MrSoop is sleeping. He has been knocked for six since his nightmare visit to the Queen Elizabeth hosp in Glasgow. He had staples removed from his scalp and was feeling tender as he approached Buchanan bus station for the four hour journey home. Only, of course, the entire area had been cordoned off. A "bomb alert". The streets were teaming with police and people were standing some distance away, in the bitter cold, not knowing what to do. I suggested that he book into an hotel for the night. Easier said than done. The first two hotels would not give him a room because he hadn't booked on-line! How crazy is that. They could see how distressed he was and knew of the lockdown. The third hotel, the Holiday Inn, went out of their way to make him comfortable. He was allowed to speak to me on the reception phone. As he had not taken his special chair in which he sleeps to alleviate severe leg cramps, he had an awful night. Thank goodness he was warm and safe. He caught the midday bus yesterday. Was home by four o'clock. Twenty eight hours spent in aid of a forty-five minute appointment. This morning he had the dressings changed in in Campbeltown hospital. All things being equal, in February he may have what could be the final skin graft.

I am away to take good care of him. Bless you all for your kind thoughts. Bless all of our Granspals in need of extra tender loving care.

Oh soop/what a dreadful experience for your poor husband, Thank goodness the Holiday Inn were compassionate and looked after him. I hope he’ll soon be feeling better.

Poor Mr Soop. That sounds just awful. I'm glad he was accommodated but even gladder he's home. You take care too Soop. I've had a lovely catch up with school friends from very long ago. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and a blether. A sandwich for dinner. Neine 💐 I hope you feel better soon.

I’m just home after being out all day, a few things to do in town and then a visit to DD2s. The pavements were really icy so I had to take my time, I’m always afraid of slipping these days

Oh what a nightmare journey one way and another for your dear man soop. You will have been agitated and anxious on his behalf I’m sure. I bet you didn’t sleep great that night either for worrying. Anyway he’s home safe, staple-free and a fresh dressing today. You can both rest easy this weekend hopefully in sheer relief that it’s done.

Himself has had his Covid and ‘flu jabs this morning. At the pharmacy below us, so handy. Both in the same arm - Max our kind pharmacist said at least if it gives him a bit of gyp in that area he’ll be able to sleep on his other side. Thoughtful. We are so lucky with our independent pharmacy. We always support them. Here 10years now and Boots in the square won’t miss our bit of trade. 😊
