Welcome!

Thank you for all your support, especially of late. I greatly appreciate your patience. You are truly the best.

Buffet is open. For those who enjoy a glass of bubbly, there is plenty in the chill cabinet.

Enjoy!

I must away for a wee while. I shall catch up later. flowers

Thank you so much to everybody. I`ve been a bit lax about posting for a while, I really must get myself together.
Yes Ann, Lynne was the daughter who lived with me. She hasn`t been well for a while, but this was totally unexpected. We can`t even register her death, or arrange the funeral, until we`re contacted by the coroner, I`ve no idea how long that takes.
Once again, thanks to all of you, hoping all who are poorly are better very soon. TOYA xxxx

‘Evening All’.

It’s been a freezing cold day here. I took L’il Miss to the library glad it was only round the corner! Not a day for out and abouting. She was delighted to see another in the series ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ which she loves to read because they make her giggle. We checked it out then went into Starbucks for hot chocolate. She really is a joy to spend time with.

Breaded haddock in the oven now with these yummy potatoes. I know, I ought to rest up more I do too much.

Dear Hellogirl1, I have just this minute heard the sad news of Lynne's death. If only we had the means to draw you into our arms and offer you the comfort that you deservedly need right now, we surely would. To lose your dear husband, your son and your daughter must be heart breaking.
Mr Soop and I send you our love and deepest sympathy.

A wet, windy and very dull afternoon here down south. I nipped out to the local shop earlier and inspected my parsnips in the garden, even though I can only see the tops.
Rang my daughter as tomorrow is the first day in her new job; lasagna for dinner.
I’ll pop back later, I hope you’re all dry and warm.

Good afternoon all.
I have had a good day today.
My GD and her friend went early to the gym and then rang to say that they would take me out if I wanted to.
I decided very quickly to take advantage and we went to a retail park, pausing briefly in Costa for a toastie and coffee and then into Furniture Village to check out sofa beds for my new second sitting room ( old dining room) which is being decorated in three weeks.
When I sat on several sofa beds I really didn’t think they were very comfortable and as my GD pointed out, did we really need a sofa bed anymore?
We looked round and then I saw a perfect sofa, right colour, right size, and , although I am not taken in, in the Black Friday sale.
After walking round a couple of times, sitting on it, going away and coming back, I decided to buy it.
I’m not known for quick decisions but I really did like it.
I ordered it but don’t want delivery until after Christmas as I need the flooring done as well.
I have lived for several years asking myself , is it worth it at my age?
Well actually yes it is.
A damp and dreary day here again , I hope you are all well and coping with what life is giving you.

Good afternoon/ evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. It's dark so early now, it feels like evening at 4pm! At least it's much milder than last week. The hard frost has killed the last of my plants, they are a sorry sight.

We enjoyed our school pick up and pizza night with the Wee Boy on Friday, his Mummy and Daddy were in #Proud Parents mode after his glowing report at Parents' Night on Thursday. They were especially pleased to hear that he is polite, kind and friendly, as well as making good progress with reading and number work. We're so glad that he has settled in at school and is managing well with his new glasses and eye patches, only recently prescribed.

After Mass today, my sister and I took our friend for Afternoon tea at the nice hotel in our nearby country park. It's two years now since her amputation, she is an absolute marvel, very positive and cheery. It was very busy with families as the Christmas events have all started. We came home with takeaway boxes, couldn't finish the cakes!

I'm thinking of Hellogirl, the Soops, and all with sorrow, illness or worries. Be gentle with yourselves, sending love and prayers. 💕🙏

Hi kitchen pals, it’s wild and windy up here in Inverness, the snow is melting but it’s very windy
Good luck tomorrow to your daughter Jax hope all goes well
This morning we went for a walk by the River Ness and called into the Botanical gardens for a cappuccino and a warm up. They’ve a lovely warm cafe with a log burner so we sat for quite a while just chatting and keeping cosy and warm. Quite simple pleasures but enjoyable none the less. DD2 asked me to pick up a couple of advent calendars from Boots so off I went. I remember when the highlight of the advent calendar was a double door to open on the 24th!
Quite right usedtobeblonde, if you’d like a new sofa why not, you definitely deserve it
Well done to your friend grannmarie she sounds like an amazing lady and a very well done to the wee boy 👏
Thinking of hellogirl and everyone else feeling sorrows just now, ❤️

‘Evening All’.

The wild windy and rainy weather all calmed down by 11am here in Urmston. 13°C too! The Boy Wonder had ⚽️ so L’il Miss came over here for a couple of hours and we played ‘shop’. It took ages to set all the ‘stock’ up on my bed! 🤣

We took my stepfather shopping to M&S then all enjoyed a steak dinner in my favourite Italian restaurant. We were home by 5pm. I’ve got my pyjamas on already and am about to settle down to watch ‘After the Party’ with a mug of Horlicks. I really feel blessed tonight. x
