Good morning from Bristol. Not looked out, but it’s not quite as chilly this morning.
We had a good harvest festival yesterday with the church full of youngsters - the guides and scouts, etc., attended. The children were generally well behaved if sometimes noisy. Sadly, not one of the traditional hymns were sung, just “songs”.
I demolished the vegetable display and took them home. After lunch, I chopped them up ready to make into piccalilli this afternoon. They are quietly salting ATM, ready for cooking.
The chiropodist is coming this afternoon for my feet, and the pickle making.
I’m off to Tesco with my neighbour this morning. Her friend isn’t coming. Although perfectly pleasant, there is something I don’t like about her. Isn’t it odd how on3 takes to one person but not to another?
May this week be kind to you. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dark north Wales coast where the chamberpot ☕️ is brewing 😉

A busy day after leisurely quiet weekend at PG Towers where plans are afoot later this week to slab footpaths and top up loft insulation - the hatch is looking decidedly small and Mr PG rather nervous as his waist has increased since the previous installation 😱

A trot out to TKMaxx for me ( and Miss Marydoll in spirit…) then a bungalow viewing with a friend this afternoon- she’s hankering for a new start 🤗

Hope you all have something good to look forward to and hugs for those who’re struggling 💐

Grandmabatty Mon 07-Oct-24 05:54:58

Good morning Mick and all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and damp. Early morning childcare. I could do with a lazy day as I'm still not 100% but I'll survive. Yesterday I made butternut squash soup in the slow cooker. This morning I'll blend it while dgs2 is at playgroup. It'll be the usual school drop off and pick up later. Have a good day all.

Bellasnana Mon 07-Oct-24 06:00:27

Good morning from Krakow where it is misty and cool.

We are going to visit the Salt Mines today and hoping I will feel ok as I’ve spoiled my poor friend’s holiday so far by being unwell. I don’t know what it is but I feel nauseous and dizzy, it has been a real struggle dragging myself around. I just want to lay flat.

I hope you all have a good day.☀️

karmalady Mon 07-Oct-24 06:07:01

Good morning from s somerset, a mix of weather today including rain

I think I will see to the rest of the outdoor storm preps, I watch weather models and wednesday night could be the start of potential tornadoes down here, operative word is `could`. Storm has increased speed over the atlantic and will arrive earlier than was expected. N of Gloucestershire should be ok

I was up earlier today, zingy and energetic, so I have been cutting into stash to make some close-fitting ribbed tops. I am loving to wear layering for winter, feels much warmer

Hairdresser later and craft group after that.

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from a dark and dismal Belfast.
The harvest service went well yesterday 57 kg collected for food bank.
Just one harvest hymn We plough the fields and scatter.
This morning I'm expecting someone to call and measure for new windows and a new front door.
DH thinks I don't need either!!!!!
I'm not listening. He will be out today.
The usual cleaning today.
Have the best day everyone.

RosesandLilac Mon 07-Oct-24 06:17:12

Good morning from south Glos, I haven’t looked outside yet so no idea what the weather’s doing.
DH is off with his sister and BIL today, I have a friend coming for coffee today and I have plans for the next few days that I will enjoy 😊
I completely undid the Aran cardigan yesterday and started again doing a familiar pattern that’s going well so far!
I hope you feel better quickly Bellasnana, it’s even more miserable if you’re ill on holiday 🤗
Take care everyone, I don’t like the sound of that weather forecast karmalady 🫣

🙁 Bellasnana. 💐

Sar53 Mon 07-Oct-24 06:25:48

Good morning from the Essex coast. We arrived home yesterday late afternoon after a lovely two weeks in Kos.
Today I will finish the unpacking and start on the washing mountain.
I also have loads of admin needing my attention. A busy few days ahead.
Sending 💐 to all those feeling unwell. Best wishes to all, have a good week xx

Grammaretto Mon 07-Oct-24 06:42:49

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not too cold but I am back in bed with my cuppa, not quite ready to get going yet.
I'm taking my noisy car to a new garage today and wondering how to come home without it. I think there's an hourly bus.
Then to catch up with correspondence and Gaelic homework.
gMattie you amaze me with your industriousness. What a great thing to do with those harvest veg.
Sorry you are poorly on holiday Bellasnanna - how wretched. Get well soon.
I hope you manage a quiet day to recover Grandmabatty
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

Susan56 Mon 07-Oct-24 06:45:04

Good morning from Shropshire.A mainly dry day forecast.

Mum was very sad and cross at times yesterday that I won’t take her home.A two hour drive and after five minutes she said you better go home now😫We stayed and she did cheer up a bit but it’s hard for her.

Today a day at home. The usual household chores, some admin and laundry and then hopefully a relaxing afternoon.

I hope you start feeling better today Bellasnanna.Miserable being ill but especially on holiday.

A shame the traditional harvest songs aren’t being sung.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Gingster Mon 07-Oct-24 06:55:00

Good morning all and it’s dark and still here in Essex.
Weather not looking great for this week Karma. 😬.

I don’t think I posted yesterday as the day got away from me.
We had db1 and dsil here for coffee and cake. Always lovely to see them.

I’ll pop into town this morning to return jeans to M and S. I have such trouble finding jeans that fit well. I’m short, large tum and skinny legs. (What a picture I’ve painted)). I even went into Armani last week at the huge Stratford mall. No luck! Any ideas please!

I did so enjoy my first pedicure on Saturday. What a wonderful experience and I’m walking on air.

Enjoy your empty RoseandLilac. You do just what you like. 😉.
Oh dear Bellasnanna .Hope you feel better and can enjoy your holiday.
I know just what you mean GM . Some people you just can’t gel with. All our grans I’ve met have been great and like old friends. I hope they feel the same 😬.

Take care all 🌻🍁

Good morning from a dry and mild Torbay, following torrential rain yesterday afternoon just as I was about to drive to the rehearsal.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment yesterday, Grandmabatty. At yesterday’s rehearsal, I was asked to be a hedgehog requiring some improvisation with the young performers which was fun even if I was the oldest hedgehog in town!

I read your poignant story yesterday evening, RosiesMaw2 and was very moved. Thank you for sharing your sad memories.

How disappointing to be unwell on your holiday, Bellasnana. The salt mines are very interesting so I hope you’re feeling a little better today.

I’m glad you’re safely home after your holiday, Sar53.

Move It or Lose It is my only commitment today.

I hope everyone has a good week. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

kittylester Mon 07-Oct-24 07:10:09

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

I have ironing to do today and I have been delegated to have a cup of tea with a neighbour who says her memory is giving her problems.

We have more or less recovered from our jabs.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 07-Oct-24 07:12:29

Morning all,

Gym first thing, then a visit to the local Farm Shop afterwards it will be school pick up of The Imp and 9 yr old.

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Oct-24 07:15:27

Morning from a brightening S Hants. Oh dear Bellasnana how horrible for you, hopefully it will soon pass.
A hard road for you to tread Susan
MrJ is up and out taking a friend to our nearby airport, said friend is off to Majorca for the week.
I’m on voluntary phone today, no quiz as our local shut yesterday, rumours abound as to what’s happening next.

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s just light and looks like there’s light grey cloud
Sorry to hear you’re unwell on holiday Bellas hoping you’re better soon
I’m travelling home today after a really quick but enjoyable visit here - it’s always good to see everyone and I’m looked after really well. I should be home early evening and DH will pick me up from the airport
Hope you get home from the garage ok grammaretto!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Greyduster Mon 07-Oct-24 07:18:41

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have a damp start and dry later. I shall do some laundry. Yesterday’s late roast dinner turned out very well and GS was very helpful in the kitchen, prepping veg, serving up, etc. I feel tiny at the side of him these days - he takes up a lot of space😁!
No plans today - I’ll see how things pan out.
Have the best day you can folks.

monk08 Mon 07-Oct-24 07:19:06

Good morning all from the Black country curtains still closed so don't know what the weather is doing, but I think rain is predicted.
Hygienist this morning.
Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell Bellasnana hope you improve soon and can enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

baubles Mon 07-Oct-24 07:19:28

Good morning from dark and damp South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday I had an ‘empty’ as DD had booked tickets for herself and DH to go to An Evening with John Sopel and a meal beforehand.
I spent it crocheting, listening to music, and walking the dog. Very pleasant and peaceful.

Today I’ll be forced to visit a supermarket, I’m sadly lacking inspiration as far as cooking is concerned these days though.

Sorry to hear that you’re not well Bellasnana, I hope you improve enough to enjoy the holiday.

Wishing everyone a good day.

BlueSapphire Mon 07-Oct-24 07:20:09

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, but sunny spells forecast later, so I have just put the towels in the washing machine.

Did very little yesterday except tidy the kitchen, read the papers and catch up with some recorded programmes.

Yoga first thing then coffee afterwards in a new little cafe just round the corner from the community centre where the class is held. May change the bedding this afternoon and hoover upstairs. Then spend time on my new book club read.

Hope you enjoy the salt mines Bellasnana; when she was 18 DD toured Poland with her youth concert band and they gave a concert in the mines.

Hoping all have a good day.

Redcar Mon 07-Oct-24 07:22:16

God morning everyone from mid Essex. We had some rain yesterday evening and overnight but the sky has cleared now and it’s quite bright out for now!
Didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, I couldn’t get my hip comfortable. I have dentist this morning then will take things easy.
bella I hope you feel better soon.
susan I’m so sorry that the situation with your mother is so difficult.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 07-Oct-24 07:25:59

Good morning from a much warmer Oxfordshire.

MrOops had the flu jab on Thursday and has been unwell over the weekend, we will defer our Covid Jabs as we have a lot going on this week.

The bathroom should be started next week so I have to figure out where to put all the stuff from the airing cupboard and from MzOops bedroom (that she has commandeered whilst she is away) they need to access the loft space in the corner of her room, of course she has a large table there piled high with ‘stuff’, I’ll tackle that later.

Meanwhile a shopping delivery today, a car up to the Ridgeway for its MOT and lots of phone calls to tradesman for the house which will complete on Thursday.

* Bellasnonna*💐my ear has taken 6 weeks to sort itself out, so I feel for you. I’ve been ‘well’ now for 5 days, fingers crossed it stays sorted.

Have a good day everyone, virtual hugs for those who are unwell or stressed.
