Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry here in brackley .
I am having bowel problems at the moment , I tried the emergency cord it did work .
Take Care,
Mick

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 11-Oct-24 06:35:06

Hope you feel better soon Mick

Still very dark here in Oxfordshire, I’ve been awake since silly o’clock and have to go over to the house early to let in the Gas Man, we waited for an hour yesterday, then phoned to make sure he was definitely coming over to be told that he wasn’t, fingers crossed he arrives today.
I have to get straight back as my car is being valeted, so I hope there are no boiler problems. Just remembered that the window cleaner is also due so I’ll have to unlock the side gate before I go out.
MrOops arranges these things forgetting that he is also somewhere else!
Nice bottle of bubbly from the Estate Agents yesterday and a nice clean house, which helps.

MissOops is busy packing, nephew has moved out, things are starting to come together.

Have a good day everyone, hopefully it will be a dry sunny day.
Fingers crossed.

Bonnybanko Fri 11-Oct-24 06:48:00

Sorry to hear about your bowel movements Mick hope it clears up soon.

It’s very dark and cold here on the east coast of Fife with rain expected later on. I felt cold throughout the night so I turned the heating up I’m so cosy now. I’m having a friend for lunch today and I’ll be finishing wrapping up my Christmas presents there will be no rushing about mad for me, it’ll all be done and dusted.

Enjoy your day everyone and try to keep safe

Puss Fri 11-Oct-24 06:50:02

Sorry to hear that Mick hope you get better soon.
Busy day yesterday cleared out poly tunnel a few tomatoes and courgettes. Trying to over winter beetroot.
Put plant containers in sheltered places. Hopefully all will survive winter.
Made soup will freeze some. Baked shortbread.
I surprised DD with all this activity.
Going out to day to pick up DH trousers they had to be shortened.
Again Mick take care will be thinking of you.
Have the best day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Oct-24 06:51:25

Morning all

Hope you are able to see your GP or medical professionals to get some advice Mick

Oops fingers crossed your day goes to plan.

I need to move myself and cook the 9yr olds breakfast and make his packed lunch.

Gym thus morning, DH and I will wander down to the local Indian restaurant for dinner tonight.

Thinking of Marydoll and Kalu 🌸🌸

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

karmalady Fri 11-Oct-24 07:02:45

Good morning from s somerset, dry and some sun later

Mick, I am hoping that the bowels calm down down quickly and you can get back into your normal going-out routine

Oops you sound so cheery now, it has been a long haul

Crafting, a walk and soup-making are planned for today, all enjoyable in different ways

Have a good day

Ashcombe Fri 11-Oct-24 07:04:43

Good morning from a calm, dry Torbay.

I hope a day taking things quietly helps, Mick.

Yesterday, I made a determined effort to ditch unworn surplus summer clothes so there is less work involved in the seasonal change over. As an inveterate hoarder, that did not come easily but DH (also a hoarder!) kept me on track. We shall have several bags for the Salvation Army clothing bank on our theatre car park.

After that we enjoyed the reward of a meal at The Babbacombe Inn, where we found convivial company as a favourite member of staff was celebrating having a job taking bookings with Holland American Cruises. As she is Dutch, but with excellent English, she is an excellent choice.

The photo shows the calm sea and interesting clouds as we walked over the Downs.

Get well wishes to Marydoll and Kalu and others feeling unwell. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Grandmabatty Fri 11-Oct-24 07:12:39

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry but rain is forecast. Mick I hope you get some help for your health issues. Oops best wishes to you. House moves can be stressful but exciting.
Yesterday I had a nice, quiet day. I pottered happily. I cleaned the bird bath and solar fountain, cleaned the kitchen and hoovered throughout then washed all the floors. My two orders didn't arrive though. One is telling me to wait til Saturday then get my money back. It's annoying because it was a Christmas present for dgs1. The other one has disappeared at the moment. Apparently, the aurora was very visible in our area, except where I stay. Too much light pollution I expect.
Today dd will pop in with dgs2 after playgroup for his bowl of soup. She and I enjoy a chat. Apart from that, I'll get washing done. Have a good day all

BlueSapphire Fri 11-Oct-24 07:19:58

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton; a.fine sunny day is expected. Up earlier than usual as the DGDs are here, and have to make sure they are up in time for school. What a nice change it makes to have some company in the house!

We had a nice Bolognese for dinner last night, followed by warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. The.girls had sat and done their homework first, and then they took themselves off to bed at a suitable time, leaving me to watch 'All Creatures Great and Small'.

Dance classes this morning, then a fairly easy day. DGDs will be here again after school.

Hope.you feel better soon Mick. Take it easy.
Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Fri 11-Oct-24 07:22:19

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Thank you for your good wishes on our anniversary.

Today I have shopping to do - the butcher's, Waitrose and Aldi. This afternoon I am hoping to see a neighbour for a cuppa and a catch up.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 11-Oct-24 07:23:28

MrOops has cancelled his morning appointment so I can breathe! He will go to the house and I will stay here and wait for my rides people to arrive, it was getting quite complicated.

It’s a dry day with a clear sky, the house was quite warm yesterday so he will pop over and wait for the Gas man. We we’re given a 4 hour slot yesterday, thank goodness MrOops took the phone number, he rang them and they said ‘sorry’ hmmmm.

Yes, happier now, no Vertigo for 6 days! Yaaaay

MissOops looking forward to moving into the house in November, a few bits to do in it, before the Winter. Nephew has moved into a rental about an hour away so she will have some breathing space and only herself and the dog to worry about.

Hope the poorlies soon feel better, let’s hope for a warm day.

Did anyone catch the Northern Lights last night? I didn’t but there are some lovely photos on our village FB page. I had an early night, too much excitement for me yesterday.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 11-Oct-24 07:25:14

Kitty belated Anniversary greetings, hope you had a lovely day.

Bellasnana Fri 11-Oct-24 07:27:47

Good morning from Krakow where it is damp and expected to rain.

So sorry you are still having problems Mick. I do hope you can get some help to relieve your issues.

Auschwitz yesterday was an overwhelming experience. We had a lovely guide who was so compassionate the way she delivered some truly dreadful facts. I am glad I went. Those poor tortured souls must never be forgotten.😞

Today we must vacate our apartment by 11 so will have a long day to fill in before our respective flights at around 9pm.

So sorry Marydoll is not well again. Sending my love and prayers for a speedy recovery. Also dear Kalu 💐

Belated happy anniversary wishes kitty.💝

DD2 and family have escaped any damage from the tornadoes which hit as a result of the hurricane. Her husband has been out helping neighbouring areas with the clean up as they were not as lucky.

Take care all, I hope you have a good day.☀️

grandMattie Fri 11-Oct-24 07:27:52

Good morning from Bristol. A gorgeous sunrise, very chilly with ice on car windscreens..
The avenue off which I live has quite a few Liquidambar trees, some burgundy, some green and a couple decked in scarlet. Fabulous.
A busy day, I’m off to Spanish soon, then go straight to DD’s for lunch before she goes to South Africa with Christian Aid. I’m extremely anxious as, by their very work, she will be taken to the dodgiest part of cities.

Grammaretto Fri 11-Oct-24 07:34:08

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's not raining.
I'm packing for a weekend in Newcastle and have a train to catch so should get going.

I was ceilidh dancing last night which was good fun.

I hope your bowel problems are
temporary Mick and settle down soon. I'm glad you aren't alone.

Have the best day you can everyone.

baubles Fri 11-Oct-24 07:42:06

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Do try to see your GP Mick, these problems shouldn’t be ignored.

I’ve got the lurgy again so I’ll have to try not to pass it on to the children today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Fri 11-Oct-24 07:47:29

Good morning everyone from Essex, where it’s dry, sunny and calm, but with quite a sharp frost!
I had my Covid jab yesterday, so far I only have a stiff and sore arm and I hope that will be the only reaction.
mick I’m sorry you’re having health problems again and hope you are better soon.
Safe journey home bella, hope you find something to do in the time between vacating your apartment and catching your flight home.
A pile of ironing awaits, and perhaps some cleaning. The pest control man came yesterday and has dealt with my wasp problems 🤞. I have to check for further activity and report back to him on Monday. I didn’t see the aurora last night!
Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Fri 11-Oct-24 07:49:43

Good morning, it’s a chilly 3° here in south Glos, frost on the cars and shed roofs. Beautiful aurora photos on the village facebook, I couldn’t capture any here.
A very restless night after a day of feeling like I had flu yesterday. I assume it was a reaction to my second shingles vaccination? The dog was very restless too which didn’t help, we set each other off!
A quiet day today, I will strip the bed and get the washing hung outside as it’s set to be sunny.
The dog walker will be here this morning, I will walk her later. DH is supposed to be back today but I haven’t heard from him 🙄. I assume he’s had a good time away.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

brook2704 Fri 11-Oct-24 07:49:51

Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Inverness, we couldn’t see any Aurora here last night as it was cloudy but there were lots of people who could. DD2 sent me a couple of gorgeous pictures from Cambridge though!
Good to hear the house move is going well Oops hope everyone settles in well
Hope you’re feeling better soon Baubles
I’m out for lunch with my friend today, nothing else planned except we’re away next week in Northumberland so I’m getting my hiking boots and jumpers ready - it’s about time we blew away some cobwebs
Enjoy your weekend away grammaretto
Safe journey home bellas and good to hear your DD2 is fine after the hurricane
Hope your orders turn up ok grandmabatty so frustrating
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

monk08 Fri 11-Oct-24 07:58:46

Good morning all from the Black country frosty start to the day but the sun is now making an appearance.
Mick hope you feel better as the day progresses.
Bellasnanna good to hear your family has escaped any damage such a worry when so far away.
Nannyjan hope your mom enjoyed her meals on wheels.
No plans as yet for the day will take it as it comes.
Take care, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

Gingster Fri 11-Oct-24 07:59:25

Good morning all from a beautiful Suffolk coast. The sunrise is stunning over the sea - there is a frost which is unusual here with the sea air. It’s so lovely to be back.

Our journey was longer as Dh missed the turn off! 🤔. How many thousands of times have we done this journey!!!!
I was no help as I was in the back with little pooch , doing crosswords. Neither of us realised until we were in Felixstowe docks. 😂. Oh dear , a little worrying!

We didn’t have the Northern lights here, which is strange as we have no street lights and it was very dark, but both sons sent pics- Essex and Herts. Amazing skies!

Today we’ll shop for the weekend. DS2 will arrive this evening and ds1 will be here by 7 in the morning. He’s a very early riser.

Sorry to hear you’re having problems again, Mick.
Oops glad the move went well. You’ll soon have everything sorted and will be able to relax.
Bellasnanna I expect that visit was heart rending. I do want to go to Auswitz, but know that it will be harrowing. We do all need to remember them! 🙏

I’m too, trying to gradually declutter Ash. I not a hoarder but Dh is and refuses to throw anything away. I find it therapeutic.
He even has a look in the sacks Im throwing out 😬, and mutters under his breath. 🙄.

I do hope MD and others feel better very soon. 🙏.

Take care 🌻🍁

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 11-Oct-24 08:02:36

Good morning everyone from a slightly sunny south Manchester. It’s 8am and the sky has a soft rosy hue. Beautiful.
It’s good to be home and although this apartment retains heat well we were glad of the weight and warmth of the winter duvet we’d put on the bed before we left.

Bit & bobs to do today - visit the curtain shop and book shop up the road, put the decorated room ‘back together’, nip into the larder downstairs for supplies and ring my stepfather. Second mug of Yorkshire Gold first, a leisurely read of all your posts and new newspapers then shower and hairwash.

Hope Friday is good to us all and you get the help you need today Mick.

Beechnut Fri 11-Oct-24 08:05:08

Good morning from Severnside where we have a lovely sunrise. It’s a bit nippy though and the birds are gathering at the top of the post. Perhaps they are making the decision to be off to warmer places.

No shopping for me today as I did it earlier in the week which has put me all about thinking what day it is. Never mind as long as I turn up for my autumn jabs tomorrow.

I’ll go back and read postings while I drink my cuppa.

Take care all 💐

Liberty Fri 11-Oct-24 08:15:09

Good morning from sunny north Suffolk and like you,Gingster we have frost on some of the grass as yet untouched by the sun.

By 6pm it was very cold and I think this will herald a rapid change of the colours of the leaves which are just beginning to change.

I managed to do my stretch class yesterday in spite of still feeling a bit tired and enjoyed catching up with my pals there. It’s good to get back to my normal routines.

I’ve a hair appointment this morning but not with my usual hairdresser who had a hip replacement on Saturday. She was offered a last minute appt in Birmingham and was thrilled so I’ll hear how she’s doing later.

There is more tidying up to do in the garden and,as long as I wrap up ,today seems like a perfect day to do some.

Hope Mick you feel better as the day progresses and others under the weather have a better day.

NannyJan53 Fri 11-Oct-24 08:18:48

Good morning from a bright but cold Black Country with a touch of frost!

Mum was a bit 'iffy' about her meal Monk said it was ok but she didn't particularly enjoy it. Pulled a face and said, who said I should do this? So I don't think she will go with this.

No real plans today. Will pop to Merry Hell Hill this afternoon to collect a pair of sandals I ordered online for next summer, as they were well under half price, and a jumper.

I have a cousin who is having an operation this afternoon, so my thoughts are with her today.

Wishing you all the best day possible.
