Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Still energy-less, getting very frustrated now. One piece of good news, a caring sounding nursing Home has space for our friend, she may be able to leave hospital next week. A long way from our goddaughters home sadly

Another very quiet day ahead here watching dust land.

Have you had medical advice mick? You must have been worried to use the emergency cord.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny, cold South Yorkshire. We had a slight frost this morning. Enjoyed walking group yesterday though the woods were a bit mucky underfoot in places. DD made me a nice lunch afterwards - GS had no school yesterday so that was a bonus for me. He interrupted his studies to come and cause good natured chaos in the kitchen until ordered out by his mother. I had a covid jab yesterday. No ill effects. Chiropodist is coming this morning and then I’m hoping to get out for a drive somewhere.
Have the best day you can folks!

I’m having a friend for lunch today

I hope she’s not too chewy Bonnybanko.

Good morning from N Bucks where it is a glorious day!
Thank goodness the “150,000mph hurricane force winds” were a load of tosh! It was clear somebody had pressed a wrong button or got their digits and decimal points in a twist, but the headlines about tornadoes in London gave me a nasty moment in the light of Milton and Helene across the pond.
It was a lesson in using my eyes and not the internet though, looking outside at the weather and applying a very large pinch of salt to what I was reading.
Off to London for GS’s assembly this afternoon. I don’t know what it’s about but he has to appear as Hermes, messenger of the gods. He suggested to his mum he could go as a Deliveroo courier! Kids!
Sending kind and healing thoughts to all who are poorly or with a mountain to climb.

Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Yesterday didn't really happen for me, I stayed in bed until 4pm because of this horrible cold I have.
Wonderful photos of the aurora last night, DS always drives to a reservoir near him and gets fabulous shots.
Will try and be more active today but it is difficult to do anything with such a runny nose.
Thoughts are with others suffering.

Good morning from a sunny Perth. Yesterday’s trip to The House of Bruar was good fun. SIL did a fast run up the A9! The Sale area was well explored and the expensive ladies section drooled over. Both DD and I were very good unfortunately
Today we shall be going into Perth and apparently a garden centre.
Mick hope you get the help you need

Morning from a sunny cool S Hants, late to bed last night after a pub quiz a few miles away, it was a good, but tough one, different from our usual.
Fingers crossed you recover soon Mick.
I’m collecting a Christmas present later ordered online, sorry about yours Grandmabatty how frustrating.
Tesco delivery later this afternoon.

Glorious morning and a sunny day forecast so must make the most of it since the fine weather seems short lived this autumn. Oldies’ coffee morning if I can get myself organised in time but am still very lethargic, a legacy from whatever bug I have been enjoying.

Good morning. Beautiful sunshine here in N. Bucks after a light frost.
Household jobs, millionaires shortbread to make, some bulbs to put in the garden this morning.
Art and craft things this afternoon and evening.
Get well wishes for all our friends who are not so good at the moment.
Hope others can make the most ofthe day.

Good morning from a crisp, dry Durham, where the sky is icy blue.
I’ll finish as much of DD2’s laundry as I can, then take it and Little Dog back for her. Plan A was to spend the afternoon with her and DGS2, but he was sent home unwell from nursery yesterday, so it’s all a bit up in the air. At some point, I want a
wander in Newcastle, as I need a birthday gift for a friend.
A problem with my rental house to sort too - the current tenant is a dream, but I wish I’d sold the house a couple of years ago - it cost a fortune standing empty on the sales market, so it’s back to being a long term let.
Pleased to hear from MaryD yesterday - kind thoughts to her, Kalu and anyone feeling challenged or under par.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Mick and everyone else!

It's 1.1C here in little Appleby, freezing and frosty and it's all so beautiful seeing the frost on the trees and grass etc.!

I've got a few days off work as I have a cold and can't risk passing it to my residents being they're physically/mentally vulnerable so I've got a Batchelors Tomato Cup-a-Soup and a Mega-Breakfast sarnie from Spar. Have taken some medicine and will be going back to bed in a minute with 2 hot water bottles! Yes, TWO! I love hugging them and snuggling in to my duvet with the Celestial Teal Single Bed Duvet Cover Set from The Range!

Our Marion next door is 100 today so I bought her a card yesterday and have posted it in her box this morning.

I might watch Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar at 9 tonight or might well be in bed snoring! I don't have all the extra channels etc. just the basic ones so I'm extremely picky on what I watch!

Love you all and have a good un'!

TheWeirdo Fri 11-Oct-24 09:36:08

FriedGreenTomatoes2 HA HA HA! Try adding a dash of Horseradish to her!

Good morning all. It's a beautiful golden autumn day on the Angus coast which I shall celebrate by having my hair cut and then visiting M&S on my way home.
I was too lazy to look out at the aurora last night, though judging by FB it was visible from here. The photo I have posted is courtesy of DD who is on a walking holiday in the Lake District at the moment.
So sorry for you Mick - you really do need to see your doctor I think. I hope you feel better today.
So glad your house move is almost complete Oops. Won't it be lovely when all is done and dusted and you can sit back and put your feet up in your new home! Best wishes for every happiness
Lovely photo Ash. Torbay was shown on a recent edition of Escape to the Country and it looks so lovely round there.
Bellasnana Auswitch must have been a difficult visit. I don't think anyone can fully understand the enormity of the atrocities carried out there. DS1, while still a young man in the Army, visited Belsen which at that time was surrounded by a military exercise area. He said that outside was deafening with the noise of manoeuvring tanks and live firing, but once you entered the camp there was just silence. He felt it very moving. Safe journey home this evening - and so glad your DD and family weren't affected by the hurricane. Such a relief for you.
I have House of Bruar envy luluaugust! It's a long time since I've been but it's a place of happy memories even from the days when there was just a little pub there! Did you manage to walk up to the Falls?
I'm sure you will worry about DD on her Christian Aid trip, grandmattie, but equally sure she will be well looked after.
FGT that was my thoughts as I read Bonnybanco's post too 😂
Well off I must trot in pursuit of the hairdresser's scissors. Why is it that after a couple of weeks of feeling desperate for the next cut, when the day arrives my hair behaves itself beautifully?
Thinking of all those going through difficult times just now flowers.

Good morning all,
I do hope you get your stomach issues resolved Mick - a word with someone at your GP practice might be wise if you’ve not already done so.
It’s a beautiful morning with blue sky and sunshine after a cold night with a touch of frost earlier. I’ve got some washing on the go so hope it will dry in the sunshine or at least get the worst of the wet off it.
Quite a few of you on trips out today - have a good time.
I hope all who are under the weather have a better day today.

A spectacular train ride down to Newcastle Grammaretto. The Quayside Market on a Sunday morning is a great way to spend a couple of hours, if it’s fine weather.

Good Morning from a chilly but sunny East Suffolk.
Photo is of the sky last night- couldn’t get over the colour. Taken from our front garden around 10.15pm- local FB flooded with amazing ones taken nearer to the prom, and over the sea.
Such phenomena I find awesome in the true sense of the word.

Grammaretto Fri 11-Oct-24 10:52:09

Thanks for the tip Georgesgran.
I'm looking forward to it.

Fantastic photos of the northern lights Brook and Taichinan
I forgot to look last night but we see them fairly often.

Jaxjacky Fri 11-Oct-24 10:54:17

Brilliant pictures from last night, thank you all.
