Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with signs of a wet night here in brackley .
My usual routine going to Bicester on the bus ,and after lunch a afternoon and evening viewing of cycling on TV.
Health wise , things are working OK as to capsules, at least they do the job.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
I had a quiet day yesterday; did very little. Seems to have been good for me as I slept for a reasonable 6hours instead of much less.
To day, I’ve got morning prayers and coffee for the complex. I’m not going to the ladies’ guild meeting this afternoon as I shall be deciding whether I can take just cabin luggage for my trip away tomorrow.
Hugs to the sad or poorly. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Puss Wed 16-Oct-24 05:58:22

Good morning from a dark and wet Belfast.
Yesterday got my flu and COVID injection arms a bit sore
Can't sleep on my back so here I am.
Hairdressers today I go to Bangor so will have to drive.
Going to put slow cooker on before I go then hopefully it will be less bother when I get back.
Any news from your daughter granMattie?
Have the best day everyone.

Good morning from Malta where it is forecast to be sunny and 30°C.

Had a lovely day with littlest yesterday. He definitely enjoys one on one time and didn’t ask for his brother at all!

We walked to the swings, first time I didn’t take the pushchair and he did very well, only needed carrying for the last leg of the walk home.

Today I need to take my broken glasses to see if they can be fixed, also need a bit of shopping and need to clean the interior of my car which is covered in dog hair.

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

grandMattie Wed 16-Oct-24 06:04:41

Nothing, puss, but she did wish me a happy “half birthday” yesterday. I do know she calls her DH and family at least once a day, so I’m feeling less anxious. Thank you for your concern.

Ashcombe Wed 16-Oct-24 06:11:15

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay where a wet day is forecast.

A quiet day at home is planned as DH has had a cold for the past few days, probably caught at the ballet on Saturday, which is a pity. He seems to be more susceptible to colds than me, which might be due to his almost hermit style existence in France. He travels back there tomorrow for a few weeks.

Safe journeys to those who are travelling, especially your DD, grandMattie, and thoughts with the unwell.
Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Glad to hear that you’re feeling better Mick.

Lots of walking yesterday helped to calm my mind. My friend’s dog in the morning plodded along beside me, he found a stick along the way and carried it all the way back home
In the afternoon we took ourselves off to the coast and let our own daft dog have a great run on the beach. We then popped into a little mews where several artists have their studios, we had a wonderful chat with an 87 year old woman who still works in her studio most days. She showed us some of her paintings and blethered non stop for ages, all in all day that was good for the soul.

No idea what today will bring.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Wed 16-Oct-24 06:28:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's not so cold.
We looked for the comet last night but there was too much cloud.

My new Helper arrived and he met my various lodgers before we left for the local Folk Club. He sang and played guitar, beautifully, and said he was charmed by the experience 😄

Yarn group and community lunch today. I seem to have a cold. Change of weather?

What a nice day you had Baubles

I've had my cuppa so hope to get another hour's sleep.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all from a very wet and cold east Fife. I’m going to my friends for lunch today where I’ll have a good time catching up with her. I’ve been in the doledrums recently therefore this visit will do me good.

Enjoy your day my friends and keep safe

Sago Wed 16-Oct-24 06:51:36

Good morning from sunny Rhodes, 28 degrees!

We left E. Yorks at 2.00am yesterday for an early morning flight to this beautiful Greek island.

We arrived at our hotel for 1 and immediately unpacked so we could explore the Old Town, we walked for 3 hours and managed a quick lunch, it was beautiful.

We needed a nap before getting ready for dinner.

Today more exploring on foot and hope looking to hire a car to see Lindos and some thermal springs later in the week.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 16-Oct-24 06:54:41

Good morning, we are visiting MrOops sister and her husband this afternoon on the way to the hotel near the airport.

I still some packing to do after daughter (who is backpacking in Europe) said she would visit us on holiday and could we bring some clothes for her, I think I will have to take out some of my clothes.

A quick whizz around with the hoover, clean the bathroom and we are off.

Apart from all the small jobs I still have to do, turn off water heating, adjust times on the boiler for central heating, remove keys from locks, bring plants indoors that will suffer from the cold, empty fridge, put unopened milk in the freezer, take some plugs out of sockets, put rubbish into dustbins, fret about whether I should close the curtains or half close them, double check I have all documents in the hand luggage, put prescriptions into hand luggage with pills, then we are ready to go.

Then of course I have to pack an overnight bag for tonight! Which until now I had quite forgotten about!

MrOops thinks I just throw some clothes into the cases and off we go…..

Anyway, first world problems

Have a good day everyone.

karmalady Wed 16-Oct-24 06:55:20

Good morning from s somerset, it rained all night and it will rain heavily all day, I will need to buy a dustbin lid and a couple of paddles soon

Some lovely and much appreciated comments yesterday, thank you. I am a capricorn and pretty tenacious when I repair or make things plus I have a whizzy brain and am always thinking about solutions to problems and how to make things better. Eldest child of 7, with practical parents, was good training for me. I had a lot of responsibility at a young age

I cannot say how very much I am enjoying my latest knit, the brown stitch, I never thought the balls would match but I spun each different colour with brown zwartbles and the other colours are blue, green or grey, and all from Devon sheep. The natural brown is a linking color and the overall has a slightly shiny look, due to the 3 ply twist. I even stayed up late which I liked, as I need to get used to the time change next weekend. I watched the drama channel all evening and midsomer murders for the first time in many years, it was a lovely evening.

I have some deliveries today, some organic lamb to get into the freezer and a few special items made from wood or leather, to do with spinning or knitting. I am treating myself

Parsnip, leek and lemon soup making today

Have a good day

Meeting friends at the club this evening.

Have a good day everyone whatever your plans.☀️

kittylester Wed 16-Oct-24 07:08:27

Good morning all from North Leicestershire. I think we have rain in the forecast.

I am still suffering the after effects of my covid jab on Monday. I felt really ill yesterday.

DH is off to the gym and our cleaner will arrive at 9am.

Have the best day possible, everyone.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 16-Oct-24 07:18:44

Good morning from a dry but dull South Downs.

Enjoyed a splendid afternoon in Ditchling with a couple of ex- work colleagues. Our next meet up is in November for afternoon tea with a dozen more ex-work friends.

Woke in the night with a reaction from the covid jab. Took a couple of paracetamols and seems better this morning. The type was one I’d never heard of, and is the first time I’ve ever had a reaction.

Will potter today catching up with stuff.

Enjoy your day

Peace and harmony

GrannyGravy13 Wed 16-Oct-24 07:27:05

Morning all

I steamed seven Christmas puddings yesterday, only cake, mince pies, cranberry sauce to go (onions are pickling chutney made)

I need to go out and buy my friends a gift for her 70th birthdays today, hopefully I will be inside by something

🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Wed 16-Oct-24 07:37:41

Good morning everyone from our little Northumberland cottage, in the middle of nowhere. It’s just getting light and there’s rain due later
Sounds like a lovely holiday Sago - enjoy!
We’re off to explore Hadrians Wall today, well DH will be doing most of the exploring and I’ll mostly be enjoying the cafes and scenery.
That sounds very much like my pre holiday checklist Oops!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

luluaugust Wed 16-Oct-24 07:41:08

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. U3A art group for me this morning and a pile of ironing this afternoon. DH says he is hiding indoors until his black eye goes off a bit.
Best wishes to all

RosesandLilac Wed 16-Oct-24 07:47:29

Good morning from south Glos where it’s pouring with rain 🙄
After more kitchen cupboard sorting yesterday I have got it sorted to my liking, I really don’t know why I haven’t done it sooner! The awkward corner cupboard now holds little-used pots etc.
I made a lovely fruit cake and an apple and blackberry crumble, both will be enjoyed.
Today we have our flu and Covid jabs this lunchtime, I fervently hope I don’t have a reaction 🤞🏻
Little else going on here.
Take care everyone 🌹

cornergran Wed 16-Oct-24 08:05:54

Morning Mick, morning All from a seriously soggy corner of Somerset. Due to rain all day.

Back to bungalow blitzing this morning and a committee meeting I hope to stay awake in this afternoon. Our long standing friends all seem to be unwell at the moment, three worrying calls yesterday. We’re all of an age, although I tell myself there’s inevitability it’s definitely not welcome.

That’s my sort of list oops, Mr C is the same, totally oblivious. You’ve inspired me roses, kitchen cupboards are now on my hit list. Well overdue.

Safe journey to all on the move, hope Wednesday is kind to us all

Gingster Wed 16-Oct-24 08:12:18

Good morning and it’s bright and warmer here in the Suffolk coast. Yesterday turned into a nice day and we dog walked in the forest and Managed to find a handful of plump chestnuts which we cooked and ate in the garden , delicious. we did some jobs in the garden, fixing and painting a bench and gathered the remaining green tomatoes. I’ll make some chutney for Christmas. I’m hoping the rest of my spring bulbs will arrive today so I can plant them up.

Oops enjoy your holiday
Sago Rhodes looks beautiful.
Brook a little cottage in Northumberland ! How lovely

Goodness GG you have been busy. Are you hosting Christmas for your family this year? .

Not sure what’s on the agenda today. I just love being here and watching the sea. It’s never the same and very mesmerising .

I found out one of my ancestors was a Suffolk fisherman, so it must be in my blood. 🚤🌊.

Take care 🌻🍁

Jaxjacky Wed 16-Oct-24 08:13:35

Morning from a very dull S Hants, rain expected, Rhodes is a pretty island Sago have a great time.
Yesterday MrJ finished cleaning the outside of the greenhouse, I faffed about, it all looks pristine now, in the afternoon I had a brief shopping trip and got some cash out.
Today is weather dependent, after a friend calls in for coffee this morning, I have bulbs to put in the ground.
Safe travels to those on the move.

Greyduster Wed 16-Oct-24 08:22:34

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire where rain is in for the day. I had a sleepless night and was reading for most of it, which means that by lunch time I will be on my knees. Creative writing session at the library this afternoon. Hope I can stay awake! I’ll probably do a bit of shopping afterwards.
Have a good day, one and all.

Marydoll Wed 16-Oct-24 08:25:40

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 12°C,

In my student days Brook, I used to stay in youth hostels to explore Hadrian's Wall.
I first visited it at seventeen with my Latin class and was hooked on all things Roman. as many of you already know!.

Yesterday, my foray to Lidl got a bit out of control. As suspected all those Christmas goodies seduced me. I felt unwell in the queue, due to the exertion of unloading the full trolley, fool that I am. The afternoon was spent recovering, watching my Turkish rubbishdrama. It's a dangerous place to live, Turkey, shootings, kidnapping, murder and machiavellian characters! 😉

Today we are off to an exhibition about the Titanic. The venue has been changed to the SSEC, which will make it easier for me.
I will drive to the station, then will take two trains. I couldn't manage the walk to the station.
It was a birthday gift from DD to DH, otherwise, I would be having a day in. I know DH is looking forward to it., despite mislaying the tickets. He denied ever receiving them (three times my daughter sent them to him.)
I explained they would be in his emails, he still strenuously denied it.
When I suggested that he check his emails on his phone, he told me that his phone didn't have access to emails. 😤 😭
Coincidently, we have ordered new phones, his bew one will certainly have email access, I can assure you.
I feel quite concerned and at my husband's cognitive decline.
I now have the tickets ( after asking DD) on my phone, which certainly does have email access.
As a vacuum up, I gave also printed out the tickets.

I hope all those on holiday have a relaxing time and best wishes to all, who are struggling. 💐
