I was wasting time the other day scrolling through Facebook and came across this poem. It made me laugh out loud as that described me at that very moment!
It is nine thirty in the morning
I must now make a start,
I need to get the hoover out
Stop being a lazy tart,
I shall dust, and sweep, and tidy,
The house will soon begin to glow
As with my trusty tin of Pledge, a-dusting I will go
I’ll check my phone before I start
That took an hour or so,
And then I mentally tick myself off
"Get up you sloth and go",
But I glimpse a crossword empty
In my Take A Break,
I cannot leave that undone
So another half hour I take,
By now it is eleven
And time to make a brew,
I shall also have a biscuit, oh f**k it I’ll take two
Ready, steady, here I go
My pinny's tied on tight,
In half an hour I will be done
The house all clean and bright,
I shall pick up and put some things away
Before I wash the floor,
But once more get distracted
By the postman at the door,
Oh joy! Oh bliss! why look at this!
My magazine has come,
And before I even know it, I am sat down on my bum.
The clock chimes two
Oh deary me
I have not yet begun
What was it I was doing?
What should I have begun?
My polish and my cloth and my vacuum look and stare
While I look round the house from the comfort of my chair
Oh shite with this I whisper, what was it Scarlett said?
"Tomorrow is another day"
I shall clean it then instead.
