Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside at the moment here in brackley .
The usual routine of having a bus trip to Bicester ,and meet some I do know , before coming home .
A late afternoon of cycling on TV .
Health front wise no change .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from a dry north Wales where I’m enjoying my first use of the chamberpot ☕️😉 and browsing through yesterday’s GM posts…gosh you are a busy lot!

Loved the original hairstyle Susan! Safe travels to LLFL and GM and lucky Sago in Rhodes, must be 15 years since we were there and fell in love with Lindos.

So many having COVID injections 💉and some suffering accordingly- we have ours on Tuesday and hoping for nothing more than a sore arm 🙏

Some cleaning to be done today as my handy man has traipsed through to the loo in between being bent over laying slabs - he swears he’s too old to undertake these jobs (matched by his being too tight to pay someone else…🤣)

Have a good day everyone x

RosesandLilac Fri 18-Oct-24 06:00:00

Good morning! It’s dark and damp here in south Glos, I’m hoping for more sunshine today.
The washing dried nicely on the line yesterday, I so love the smell of line dried laundry. A pile of ironing to tackle today along with the housework.
We had a meeting with our financial advisor yesterday, my brain was spinning, I really do have a mental block about the details of investing etc ☹️. I guess it’s because I never had any money for the majority of my life?
A pottering kind of day today, suits me fine 😊
Have a peaceful day 🌹

Good morning everyone it’s real dark this morning and cold from the east coast of Fife. I’m getting a plumber in today to service my gas boiler just before the harsh weather begins.
Today I’m going out to my local bingo, I won £250 last time just before my holiday to Sicily and it came in real handy. I’ve employed a new gardener to tidy up my garden, he came yesterday and is coming today again.

Have a safe day my friends

Sago Fri 18-Oct-24 06:18:30

Good Morning from sunny Rhodes.

Looking forward to exploring the island in our hire car today.

We walked many miles yesterday so it will be nice to have a day off!

Ashcombe Fri 18-Oct-24 06:19:51

Good morning from a calm and dry Torbay.

I seem to have caught DH’s cold - kind of him to share! He is now safely home en France and we appreciated the good wishes for his journey which went well.

I wish the same easy travelling to grandMattie and Ladyleftfieldlover, a happy day exploring to Sago while thoughts are with those in pain of any kind.
Great hairstyle on your GD, yesterday, Susan56. It sounds like your helpful SiL is much in demand currently!

Enjoy whatever your day brings. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, Fog now, sun will pop out for a couple of hours then more rain and dank all afternoon. Sigh

At least my knitting is making good progress and I have started a hat prior to teaching my dd how to start one. My blocked jumper looks lovely, modern style and I am always happy at how blocking upgrades the texture. I also did some overdue tidying but am still surrounded by yarn crafting. Who cares, it all looks homely

Herbs and spices are all out ready for my delivery which includes the items for a chilli to which I am adding dark chocolate. Today I am making some ready meals and soup

I need to make sure I do some strength exercises, which are always neglected when gardening is on hold for winter. The implements I need are ready to use but I never `see` them although they are in plain sight. More effort is needed

Have a good day

Good morning from Durham. It’s still dark, but it’s rained overnight. Yesterday was warm and sunny and the gardeners did a sterling job.
My cold has developed into an absolute streamer. I was supposed to be going to the cinema with DD1 and DGS1 after school, but I’ll have to cancel.

Best wishes to all. X

glammagran Fri 18-Oct-24 06:45:15

Good morning all.

Quiet week really. DGS2 all day Monday. He was ok on the whole but strangely clingy which isn’t like him at all but he wasn’t feeling very well. Picked up his sister from school on Wednesday - she was a delight as she normally is. We did a lot of maths play which she loves doing and prefers to English. At just 6 she’s getting the hang of times tables and her other grandad who was a maths teacher is showing her how to use decimal points. We did some drawings of the seasons too.

Spent time tidying the garden for winter yesterday as the sun was shining for a change. Our hedgehog has made a home for him/herself in the house we bought recently. We provided straw and strategically placed loads of leaves close by which it’s dragged inside. DH installed a camera in the garden so we can watch it go in and out to eat.

Tomorrow we are going to a swimming competition in Gloucester to see DGS1 compete.

Have a good day all and hope those feeling below par feel better very soon.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where tit looks as though there’s been some rain overnight.

Off to childmind today but no school/nursery runs as it’s a holiday week.

We’re bringing the children home with us to stay for a couple of days.

I always think of you on Fridays Grammaretto, when we pass the sign for your town.

Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Fri 18-Oct-24 07:00:16

Good morning all from a very dark North Leicestershire.

Our gardener is coming this morning and I have to go to Waitrose. DH is driving DS1 to Sheffield for a hospital appointment.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Fri 18-Oct-24 07:02:10

Good morning from an overcast Malta. Looks like it might rain.

Yesterday’s showers never materialised so, after vacuuming and steam mopping the floors, I was about to flick a duster round when my friend messaged asking if I was free.

I don’t need much of an excuse to put off housework so I walked up to her house and then we went for a lovely long walk. It was still hot so we stopped for an ice cream.

DD3 then messaged to ask if I could sit with the boys while she went to an appointment. I had a lovely couple of hours with them, they give me so much energy and joy.

Watched the tennis in the evening, sad to see Rafa coming to the end of his stellar career, but always a treat to see him on court.

Today I must finish the jobs on yesterday’s to do list unless something better turns up!😃

Wishing you all a good day and hoping the colds and other illnesses will be better soon.☀️

cornergran Fri 18-Oct-24 07:02:36

Morning Mick, morning All. Dark and dry out there. A sunny morning is forecast for our corner of Somerset with rain later.

Enjoyed a short stroll and a long sit outside a cafe on the sea front yesterday morning, a real tonic. The helpful woman in the charity shop asked if we had any DVD’s. We certainly do, knowing they would be welcomed will encourage a much needed cull. Can’t recall the last time we watched one. The afternoon saw me nattering on the phone while Mr C began a jigsaw, now I know Autumn is here.

Quiet morning ahead I think as Mr C thinks it’s time we returned to the Friday afternoon TaiChi group. Suspect I’ll do most sitting which really doesn’t matter.

Kind of your husband to share ash, hope the cold passes quickly, yours too, georgesgran. Miserable things are colds.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 18-Oct-24 07:14:03

Good morning from a dark Spain.

25 degrees when we arrived yesterday, the house overlooks the bay, MrOops went straight into the pool, whilst I sat and looked at the sea.

Shopping this morning, we wandered down to the small beach bar which overlooks the tiny beach, very nice, we will probably wander down again this evening.

Sadly our BIL died just before we left home to visit, annoyingly the MacMillan nurses hadn’t visited him at all until 2 hours before he died, they were too busy.
MrOops sister asked us not to go to see her as her children their partners and the Grand children were all there in the house and she was feeling (understandably) overwhelmed.

He was a lovely chap, thought the world of his family and spent hours in his shed making toys for his Grandchildren, he will be sadly missed.

I hope all the poorly Grans get some relief today and anyone worried or stressed will have a better day.

Redcar Fri 18-Oct-24 07:23:11

Good morning everyone from a foggy Essex.
Yesterday I went into town to do some shopping before going on to DD1’s to look after the dog while they’re both in the office. A quiet day, the dog loves a cuddle, so we sat together on the sofa! DD2 came round for an hour before picking up the six year old from school. Got home at 6.30.
I’m planning to go to the garden centre this morning to get compost so I can plant the tulip bulbs.
Then I have to clean the kitchen in readiness for the hairdresser this afternoon.
Safe travels to those on the move today and I hope those with colds feel better soon. Colds are a real nuisance aren’t they!
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a lightening W Kent. Sitting here waiting for the oven engineer to turn up and hopefully sort it out. I think it has been playing me up for a while but on returning from Scotland it just wouldn’t heat.
If he comes in good time we are going out to lunch and then popping in on the GC till their mum gets home. They don’t need us to but I want to catch with GD2.
Best wishes to all

Gingster Fri 18-Oct-24 07:30:57

Good morning all and it’s bright here at the Suffolk seaside.
Yesterday turned into another glorious day. We’ve been lucky this week with the weather.

We’re travelling back to Essex today. Always sad to leave this peaceful oasis but it will be good to get back to our usual routine.

Main drainage man is due and also the oil delivery while we’re away.

I planted up the rest of the bulbs so we should have a good display in the spring. The gorse on the beach is just coming into flower which always looks stunning. We’ll be back in a couple of weeks, just in time to see it in full bloom.

The full moon has been so bright over the sea. Is it a special one?

Take care one and all.🌻🍁

Good morning from my patio swing seat in Cornwall where the sky is the palest shade of blue and the few clouds are pink-tipped. The ground is thick with ash leaves from the huge tree overhanging my patio. I have a yearning to travel somewhere today but have no idea where, yet. Cornwall is my oyster. 😄

Greyduster Fri 18-Oct-24 07:39:08

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mist is hiding the rising sun this morning but it promises to be a dry day. Yesterday is the woods the sun was streaming through the trees, leaves were raining down and we were dodging falling chestnuts! The paths are littered with them at the moment. I couldn’t resist picking up a handful of decent sized ones that had come out of their husks. I had lunch with DD and then driving home had a terrible sneezing fit - my second of the day - on the dual carriageway with nowhere to pull off! My eyes and my nose were streaming. I wish I knew what triggers them. A lovely much needed haircut in the afternoon.
Today I have a couple of things to do in the house and then I shall walk to school this afternoon for my volunteering session.
Have the best day you can folks.

That’s lovely mattie.

Good morning everyone from a very foggy Northampton, but sunny spells are forecast later. I still hope to get the towels out on the line before I go to my dance classes. My load of bedding dried beautifully outside yesterday, and I was able to get one of the spare room beds made up again.

Finished my spy novel yesterday, and am keen to start the next one in the series so I think a visit to the library is on the cards. Noticed the rest of the series on the shelf last time I was there.

Early dinner then out to rugby, Friday night under the lights again tonight, and we have another light show with our phones as our team comes out. Must wrap up warm tonight so it's on with the thermals!

Best wishes to those travelling and hope today is kind to all.

Good morning Mick and All from a misty South Bucks.

I went to my 92 year old friend’s Memorial Service yesterday it was done so well. I didn’t cry until the end when they played ‘Time to say goodbye’ by Sarah Brightman., such a beautiful song. Her family had flown over from Colorado.

I couldn’t access Rafa’s match Bellasnana but maybe that was for the best.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Oct-24 07:54:40

Morning from a misty corner of S E Essex

The 9yr old has enjoyed an egg and back sandwich, he is ready to go to school.

I have woken with a headache, rather annoying as I have a busy morning, gym, coffee and catch up with some friends, then the dreaded but much needed Covid booster.

A long shower and hair wash, school pick up, then it’s glamour on for dinner with DH at a local Malaysian restaurant, the food is divine as are the staff and decor.

Enjoy your day 🙋‍♀️

hollysteers Fri 18-Oct-24 07:54:45

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Quite active yesterday, a week after op. DS took me for a gentle drive. I had a cushion between the seatbelt and my stitches and we tried to avoid bumps. Sunny day too.

In the evening I walked to the postbox with a birthday card and it seemed to have moved further away….
The teaspoon puréed food continues and ‘mealtimes’ are a real chore.
Lots of tv being watched, not my usual activity.

Lovely view grandmattie and thoughts to all🌺
