Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but remains dry here in brackley being in the town , they maybe fog as well.
Hopefully usual day bus trip to Bicester to get some things .
Still suffering with bowels as to Diahorhrea , have switched from tap water to bottled water just a caution of water contamination which could be the cause .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol. It’s chillier than Cantabria!
The holiday was good but made a great deal better by a very affable and knowledgeable guide. Thank you Paul.
We had an easy and uneventful journey from our hotel to Bilbao airport. It’s not very big, but pretty efficient.
Home by taxi, barely an hour after DD, who came back from her work South African trip. I’ll hear all about it (I hope) when I got to my usual Thursday dinner.
Today will be spent pottering and sorting out things.
I hope all the poor lies (especially MD) and unhappy have a gentle day.

Good morning Michael and all that follow, early start in the Monk household DH last fishing contest for this season.
I'm on playgroup duties so busy day.
Will come back later to read everyone's happenings.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.☀️

Good morning, it’s dark and dry here, the forecast says it’s foggy?
Yesterday I had a good clean through the house, not that it was particularly grubby, DH vacuumed. Today nothing much to do other than the ironing.
I did do more of my embroidery, I’m really enjoying it. I also sorted out my slow stitching fabric stash, I have plenty to keep me going!
Today a dog walk before I start anything else, she and I happily pootle along, enjoying being outside regardless of the weather.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from Malta where the high is to reach 27°C with a chance of showers. Despite a cloudy day yesterday the predicted rain never arrived.

No idea what I shall do with my day yet. I’m still in bed contemplating.

Wishing you all a good day. ☀️

Susan56 Wed 23-Oct-24 06:26:43

Good morning from Shropshire where another dry day is forecast.

We were looking forward to a day at home finally but have just had a phone call to say mum has an infection and has been moved to another ward.So upsetting as we had found a lovely care home and we’re preparing for her to be discharged.

My thoughts are for all struggling for health or other reasons.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from a dark Cambridgeshire. Having another quiet one here but hoping I will feel well enough to put a new Hellebore in and do a pot of bulbs for the patio. Tulips at the bottom and then daffodils with crocus and snowdrop on top. DH mowed the lawns yesterday. I still have a lot of colour out there.
Yesterday I collected GC from school and 10 year old had fallen in PE. She had a nasty scrape on knee and elbow and was very tearful. Then it came out her friends had been unkind at lunchtime and she sat on her own to eat her lunch. Two of her “friends” had been taking her lunch over the last week and following DD2 reporting this to her teacher the girls are being unkind to her. She needed lots of cuddles. Hoping she will have a better day today.
Hope everyone has a good day 💐

Susan56 Wed 23-Oct-24 06:35:36

I’m so sorry your DGD has been having a difficult time at school GrannyIvy.I hope the school sort things out for her.
Hope today is a better day for her🤞🏻

GrannyIvy Wed 23-Oct-24 06:48:01

Thank you Susan56 and hope things settle down with your mum. Not an easy time for you 💐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Very dark still.
A long walk yesterday in the Autumn sunshine. I showed our local stately pile to my Helper.

My Gaelic class was hilarious. Our teacher was in Halloween fancy dress and had us all singing, playing party games and gave us homemade biscuits. All in Gaelic ofcourse!

It was too early but there's no class next week.

Later I went to the folk club so today a quieter day is planned.

That's horrid for your DGD GrannyIvy. I hope the school can put a stop to the meanness.

I hope your DM is better soon Susan
I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire.

All quiet here. We have all 3 of DD3's children here but they appear to be still asleep. Wolfie enjoyed his shopping trip yesterday and spent 7 more 'monies' that his allowance. We were happy for him to overspend but not to have to cope with McDonalds during half term. Hopefully, next year he will prefer a pizza.

Coping with McDonalds at half term is very minor compared to the sad situations that some of you are dealing with, so I hope everyone has the best day possible.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 23-Oct-24 07:19:30

Morning all

No idea what the weather is like as I haven’t opened bedroom curtains yet.

GrannyIvy I hope your GD’s school sort this out quickly, poor little girl.

Off to the gym this morning, then I have to go to the big Sainsbury’s to get supplies in for half term next week, I shall have a houseful of GC.

Thinking of Marydoll 😘

Susan56 thinking of you and your mum.

🙋‍♀️

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I was supposed to be helping OH pot 100 jars of honey today but he’s still fiddling around with the woodpecker guards he has been making. He is not a natural handyman!

I will bite the bullet and get my ironing done.

So probably a quiet day although I do need to look up computers and printers. My pc is 10 years old and behaving strangely and my printer is demented!

I do hope the school deal properly with the granddaughter who is being bullied. I remember my daughter having problems at secondary school years ago and they sorted it out.

Have a good day.

brook2704 Wed 23-Oct-24 07:23:09

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but feels quite mild
I really feel for your DGD GrannyIvy I hope it’s sorted very soon and she feels happier at school
I enjoyed my evening out with pals last night, good company and lots of laughter. This morning I’ve got a volunteering session and then I’m off to DD2s to help out with a few things
Hoping your mum is feeling better soon Susan and can move to the care home
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from s somerset, sunny weather later today

I popped my head into the loft yesterday and everything is secure and in place, I was very relieved as there had been problems, which I fixed last year. A yearly pre-winter visual check will do from now on.

I cut out the last of my cosy rib layering tops last night, it did not take me long at all. I have the motivation to get those tops sewn up today as I don`t even have to look at the pattern, I already have some in a drawer, very useful too. I need to get enough mojo to get that last corduroy sleeveless layering dress done and then believe me, I will clean everything in my sewing room and shut the door to close off the room until spring

There are no plans for anything else today, apart from making kefir and I have a free day until someone comes to service my boiler. I would love to sit and knit but won`t until I have finished my sewing UFOs

Have a good day

Good morning from a dry South Downs.

Off to Rye and surrounding area today. Hope weather remains dry.

Kind wishes to all those struggling for one reason or another.

Joy to all.

Peace and harmony to the world.

Good morning everyone from Essex where it’s mild and bright. No fog thank goodness.
grannyivy that’s really sad for your DGD, hope it can be sorted out soon. My 9 year old granddaughter has been having similar problems but hopefully sorted now.
susan I hope that your mother’s infection can be cleared soon and that she can still be moved to the home you’ve found.
I saw the hygienist yesterday, she’s very gentle and I don’t mind seeing her! I have another appointment in a year’s time. Saw my friend with dementia in the afternoon, she was very quiet and calm.
This morning I am seeing the physiotherapist about my aching knee. Then I have a food delivery. I plan to put more bulbs in pots and possibly cut back a large fuchsia which would take over the whole garden given the chance. The grass is lovely and green and growing fast, but too wet to cut now.
I hope Wednesday is kind to everyone.

Gingster Wed 23-Oct-24 07:32:17

Good morning all and it’s just getting light here in Essex. The beautiful autumn weather continues.

Dh will go fishing and I have a busy day.
Church first and then picking my glasses up from Specsavers.
On to meet my pal for coffee and then lunch with my surrogate daughter and baby.
Tonight I have a taster session for a choir. I’ve been sent a welcome pack but I’m not sure it’s for me. I’ll see how I feel this evening.

Take care all. 🌻🍁

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, dry corner of Somerset.

Mr C’s blood letting went without drama yesterday, no energy for walking though. We have covid jabs this morning and must visit our front door installers as they have ignored phone requests for help with the door which seems to have dropped. Mr C can close it. Me? No chance. Could be awkward.

So sorry about your Mum susan. Friendship groups can be anything but grannyivy, one of ours had similar issues and it really undermined her. Hope the school can sort it quickly, as they should. Welcome home grandmattie, your holiday sounded so interesting. Can’t help thinking you should report your ongoing issues to your team mick, hope today goes well.

Thinking of everyone finding life a struggle. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a mild and still dark Black Country. Not opened curtains yet.

Such a lovely sunny day yesterday. We managed to tidy garden and fill the garden waste bin. They charge £36 for the year to empty it now, so need to get our monies worth !

MrJ should have gone on a bike ride yesterday, but after his bout of Covid he has been left with a bad back. Same happened to my brother in the summer. Took weeks to right itself.

Today I am meeting DGD2 (16) for lunch in town. It is lovely she is at college here now for 2 years. She has made quite a few new friends.

So sorry to hear about your DGD's so called 'friends'. Basically it is stealing! I hope the school can sort it out.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Georgesgran Wed 23-Oct-24 07:36:07

Good morning from Durham. A dry day, that’s three in a row!
Today, we are going pumpkin picking at a farm near Hexham with a soft play session afterwards - for DGS2, not me!
Although I’m still coughing, we’ll be outside most of the time, then I’m bringing Little Dog back here with me for a couple of nights.

Children can be so cruel -*GI*, I hope this is nipped in the bud, so to speak. Fingers crossed your Mum is soon well enough to be discharged to her new Home Susan

Best wishes to all. X

Ooops the last comment was to GrannyIvy

Jaxjacky Wed 23-Oct-24 07:45:52

Morning, dry in S Hants after showers yesterday where my nose check up at ENT went well.
Today my hair gets a trim, possibly a library visit then I’m making chicken and leek pasties.
Darn it Susan I hope that clears up soon.
Young girls can be so snide GrannyIvy may the school sort this out quickly.

Good morning from a clear-skied Cornwall with sun promised. I'm out today after four days inside, unheard of for me! However, did some baking, also unusual for me. Today I'm on my usual Wednesday rota at my youngest grandchildren's house, bridging the after-school gap. Can't say these vicious tablets are helping my lungs yet but I desperately need a change of scenery! 😄 The bus takes me almost door-to-door so that's useful.

Good morning from N. bucks where the weather is still and dull.

Had an uncomfortable night with shoulder pain and the arthritis in my hands . Still , I’m up and about to get ready to go to a talk and lunch with WI pals.
Later I shall make some lists re. materials needed for craft Club projects and hopefully some painting.

A good day wished for all and healing thought for those who need them.
