Thanks for the heads up. There are some odd people on the site I have to say, not regular members - who might well be odd but are familiar - but some new members who have caused some mischief then disappeared.

I had one a few days ago, not that name but also began with ‘s’.

He/she admired my ‘thoughtful’ posts, and wanted to know where I was?

I didn’t share that info!

I cant find a record of this person being a legit poster in a search - apologies if I'm wrong.

I did too, not Soren but another name starting with S - also admiring my thoughtful post. Told me they lived in Glasgow, then asked what the weather was like there! Blocked.

I don’t think I have ever seen any ‘reaching out’ on threads on here so I would immediately suspect it wasn’t a genuine message.
Nobody I know says it either.

I received a message from a man some time ago suggesting "maybe we could get to know one another better". I think others had the same as I saw his thread was blocked soon afterwards.

‘Silver Fox’ was concerned I hadn’t posted for a while.

Reported them and blocked them.

I feel guilty if it is someone genuinely wanting to make contact but I don’t want to take risks.

Octopus start every reply to me with ‘Thank you for reaching out’. I think it’s used in many settings now.
