Has anyone else had a PM from 'Soren' wanting to 'reach out'to them? Very flowery language appreciating my posts. V odd. Have blocked.

Mum2three, it wasn't my intention to upset you.

Years of training staff and pupils on Internet safety have made me a suspicious old biddy.
Scammers are experts at what they do. They lull you into a false sense of security, by being very convincing.

I do what Lucky does and do a search. Usually you find that they have never posted before.
Those of us, who have been on GN for years have seen it happen previously.

Fortunately, I mentioned to the Glasgow Grans that I had received an odd PM, so we were able to share intelligence! 😉
Another gran had received the same PM.
The power of GN networking!!

Being polite , courteous and brought up never to lie means that I'm an easy target .
I wasn't suspicious of the new member until I read that she or he had sent similar pms to many other members .
A couple of years ago a member sent me lots of pms about gardening.
She asked me for my email and my address .
I ignored the requests by just continuing our conversations about gardening and art .
She stopped contacting me .
