Good morning from a fine and dry Torbay.

I have two full days at our theatre for fund raising performances given by Toads members, past and present. Tech and opening show tonight then two more shows tomorrow. (see photos for content)

Happy weekend! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Bristol. No idea how cold or wet as I have just woken up.
I hope my post doesn’t get lost today. Five swallowed up yesterday is far too many!
Your cabaret sounds interesting, Ash. Break a leg.
Been quiet since my return from Spain. I’ve done quite a bit of assembling and sewing of bit# for this quilt I’ve gone off.
My Spanish teacher who is Basquewas outraged that I thought the Bilbao Guggenheim hideous and the art it contains impenetrable and ugly.
Iris has got covid so I didn’t dine there on Thursday evening, but DD is coming for a cuppa this afternoon - very unusual for herto visit.
Stay safe, hope your situation ps improved e. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where we are due for another week of warm, dry weather.

I have been awake for ages with a million things going through my brain. Think I might go back to sleep as I’ve nothing pressing to do today and I feel so sleepy.😴😴

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, sunny all day today

Busy yesterday, I made a large leek and squash gratin, was very yummy and I have frozen 9 portions, also made and vac packed 8 venison patties. Freezer is stuffed. I do like having easy handy meals. Needle storage is all done and I did a few rows on a hat for a dd, I am needing to get that finished before wednesday

Today I am driving and will be visiting for a few hours

Have a good day

Don’t forget, the clocks go BACK tonight

RosesandLilac Sat 26-Oct-24 07:17:53

Good morning from south Glos where it’s chilly and dry.
DS and family are arriving later today so a day of meal prepping and cooking.
I have baked a cake, cleaned and tidied through the house and written a list of what I need to do.
One bed to make and I will do the ironing from yesterday’s laundry.
Looking forward to seeing them!
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Greyduster Sat 26-Oct-24 07:19:29

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where there is low lying fog and it’s still dark. I am full of cold and have a sore throat. I hope it’s nothing worse. I have some shopping to do today but apart from that nothing pressing. I’ll look at car insurance quotes. My renewal quote was ridiculous but so have the others I’ve seen so it might have to be the best of a bad lot!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning everyone from Essex where it’s dark and damp. The gutters were cleared yesterday morning, hopefully one less thing to worry about this winter. I was all set for a boring day of housework but my neighbour asked if I’d like to go to the local garden centre for a coffee. We had a good catch up of news which I really enjoyed.
I finished the ironing, vacuumed throughout and tidied some paperwork in the afternoon.
Nothing much planned for today, but need to collect meds from the pharmacy at the end of the road. I doubt i’ll see my DDs as Saturdays are always busy with grandchildren’s activities. Clocks go back tonight 😞.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from dark Cambridgeshire. I wish I lived nearer Ashcombe I went to a local charity Cabaret at the end of September and it was really good. Karmalady your freezer bakes sound delicious.
I am going to venture out to Waitrose and maybe M & S food hall today. My DD2 is planning to decorate dgd2’s tutu for her ballet medal in November so I may pop over to help this afternoon. The little GC are with their father this weekend so it will be a quiet one but they will bounce back Sunday. Half term here next week. Pumpkin and Halloween activities scheduled for Tuesday.
Have a good Saturday and dreaded clock change tonight🙈

BlueSapphire Sat 26-Oct-24 07:30:24

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton. Hoping it stays dry as I am planning on a bus trip to Rushden Lakes, looking for inspiration for a birthday present for DGD1 who turns 17 in a couple of weeks. I still have M&S vouchers to spend, so something for me as well!

Three very full on dance classes yesterday, then did my top-up shop in M&S Food and Sainsbury's. Was worn out by the time I got home!

Wishing all a pleasant weekend.

Georgesgran Sat 26-Oct-24 07:34:08

Good Morning from Durham. It’s grey and drab, but at least it’s dry. The irritating cough continues - I’m heartily sick of it.
I’ve deliberately left today free so I can potter around and just annoy myself coughing!
Not looking forward to the clock change.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a very dark, cold day from the east coast of Fife. My heating has kicked in to 18 degrees it'll be fur lined trousers and a vest on today in this old house,
I’m staying at home today I ordered an afternoon tea yesterday for my friend and I and I also enjoyed a big afternoon shopping trip where I bought a really lovely Christmas blouse I tried it on when I arrived home I’m no good at trying things on in these hot sweaty cubicals and thankfully it fits perfectly, however I’ve had to buy a cosy vest for underneath when the time comes to wear it, - that’s me sorted Grandmattie it’s the same here with the post I’ve only just heard my lovely pop up birthday card sent to a family member was put into his neighbours house in error and other birthday cards sent haven’t reached their destination I’m real angry at that especially as they all had first class stamps. Hey ho it’s what it is however there’s worse things going on in the world today.

Have a good weekend and remember the clocks go back an hr this weekend it’s going to get darker and darker so keep cosy and safe

NannyJan53 Sat 26-Oct-24 07:47:24

Good morning from a dark but dry Black Country.

Sore arms this morning as I had both Covid and Flu jabs. Took Mum so she has had her jabs now.

The production of West Side Story last night was superb, considering it was an amateur production.

Hope your stomach ache eases off this morning Monk

Wishing you all the best day possible.

kittylester Sat 26-Oct-24 07:50:00

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

A slow start today. I will pop to the village shops this morning and, this afternoon, I have to collect DGD1 from Derby as we are going out for a curry this evening.

luluaugust Sat 26-Oct-24 07:52:39

Good morning from a damp W Kent. A rather nothing sort of day so I shall batch cook some curry and get ahead with the washing. AC and families away over some of half term
Best wishes to all

Sar53 Sat 26-Oct-24 07:59:30

Good morning from the Essex coast where the sun has just appeared.
A day of bits and bobs before a Halloween night at the Yacht club.
Best wishes to all and enjoy your weekend xx

brook2704 Sat 26-Oct-24 08:00:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks dry
Hope your cough improves soon georgesgran and you’re feeling better soon too monk
I had a really enjoyable night out with my pals yesterday, lots of laughter and catching up on news. A couple of glasses of wine enjoyed but not as much as last time 🤦‍♀️ … I’ve not much planned for today, we’ve had a busy few days so looking forward to catching up with a few things at home. I’m hoping it stays dry so I can get outside to tidy up in the garden.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Sat 26-Oct-24 08:20:55

Good morning all and it’s a bit of a nothing day weatherwise.
Very still, grey and dreary looking.

Yesterday was pleasant and we met up with our Friday pals. The country pub where we’ve been meeting for 40 years is, finally, closing. The landlady/owner is 91 and although doesn’t want to retire , her family feel her time is up. The place doesn’t make any money - no food offered and hardly any passing trade. She’s asked us to keep going on Fridays and she’ll serve us drinks and sit with us for a couple of hours. How lovely is that! ❤️.

Enjoy your Saturdays as best you can.🌻🍁

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C and cloudy.

Karmalady, at least you were able to find leeks. I went out to pull leeks from the garden for the soup, that I was making, Nae luck, as we say here in Glasgow, Mr MD had dumped the trees, he had chopped down, on top of the raised bed of leeks. Mr Doll strikes again! He couldn't understand why I was annoyed. 🤬

Not much was done yesterday, after my Sainsbury's parcel collection. I decided to a little shopping, but of course that grew arms and legs, because DH wanted beer. As usual, I got a random trolley check, but began to feel unwell, due to having to stand too long. I just wanted home.
Trying to remain independent in the face of so many challenges, is not for the faint hearted.😉

Passing Matalan, I wondered when my Click and Collect order would be ready, I got home to find a text to say that it was ready for collection. Grrrr! I could have picked it up on my way home.
I had been trying to get slippers for Baby, because she has a penchant for wearing Dollie's, sequined ones, which are eight sizes too big.😂. The only place, that I could get her size was in Matalan.

The afternoon was spent resting, after I had made minestrone soup to feed anyone, who turns up at the weekend.
I am having heart issues again, after a respite of months. Having been lulled into a false sense of security, it has knocked my confidence. I had forgotten about those horrible episodes of angina.

GM, please be careful, in case your DD may be incubating Covid.
Susan, I hope there is some improvement for your mother and all those struggling.
My condolences, Oops, such a shock.

A quiet day for me, apart DH having both Covid and 'flu vaccinations. My intention is to drop him off. Parking will be well nigh impossible.
Hopefully vigil Mass tonight, the new PP is a kind and gentle man, but I have to keep nagging him to get things done. The exact opposite of the old one.

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans. Good luck Ash with the production.🎭

Mick, I will be no longer nagging you to see a GP. We have tried to offer advice which has fallen on deaf ears. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink. (Pardon the pun).
I am very concerned about your situation.

ginny Sat 26-Oct-24 08:39:50

Good morning from a dull but dry N.Bucks.
Thank goodness for that as DGS(8) has requested that we go to watch his football match this morning. I’ll take a chair with me.
A bit of food shopping and then home to prepare dinner as MIL is being picked up at two by DH to join us.
Nothing planned for tomorrow except some jobs in the garden depending on the weather of course.
Good wishes to all especially those struggling with illnesses.

cornergran Sat 26-Oct-24 08:48:40

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear corner of Somerset.

Volunteering and TaiChi yesterday, pleased I could do more this week. Not sure about today, may catch the bus to the local museum if Mr C stops sneezing, he has allergic rhinitis and forgot antihistamine. His sneezing would terrorise other bus passengers and drive folk out of the museum.

Thinking of everyone with worries. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Jaxjacky Sat 26-Oct-24 08:53:30

Morning from a drizzly S Hants.
Did your exciting parcels arrive karmalady? I was waiting 🙂
Good job you’re feeling better Ash good luck.
I had my Covid jab yesterday, all fine, with flu last Tuesday I’m done.
Paper today, picking up manure and M&S collection, all need to be done at some point.

Good morning,
A dull looking morning here, but at least the fog has gone, along with the rain that came last night. Everything outside looks very wet but at least it’s fine for now.
A lazy day planned for today after a fairly busy one yesterday.
Hope you all have a good day, and, as mentioned up thread, don’t forget to put your clocks back an hour tonight. It really will feel as if winter is drawing on then, won’t it?
