Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley.
Today , usual bus trip to Bicester do a shop and hopefully talk some people I know.
The health front , still a big weight compared to what I have been prior to having surgery.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry Torbay with a slight breeze.

Yesterday, with the help of my walking poles, I managed to walk to the Downs where I enjoyed a coffee in our favourite pub before sitting on a bench enjoying this view. It was mild enough to take the air without a coat.

Good to see Grandmabatty posting yesterday.

Hope FriedGreenTomatoes2 is safely in her happy place with her DH.

Thinking of Susan56 and her Mum.

A good day to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, dry today

Two more short sessions and my sewn garment will be finished by by sunday evening. Knitting is going well, I love the way the work slides along my short circular needles. This next hat is almost finished, for ds and I have three more to make after this, including one for myself

Today I go to look at the allotment plot. Fingers and toes are crossed that the plot is not a mass of weeds and that perhaps, there is some sort of storage on the plot. It is definitely a potential opening to new beginnings for me. I have no spare tools, I left everything for my last plot owner, when I moved house.

Have a good day

Good morning Mick from another dry day in north Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where I’m about to enjoy a chamberpot of Yorkshire Gold ☕️ before my trot to the next village for a newspaper 📰.

Well my intrepid father made it to Goa (against my better judgement 😡) and is enjoying the 🌞 and the fuss everyone makes of him at the guesthouse he’s been frequenting for the last 25 years!

This means we can sail off on our Caribbean cruise 🚢 on Tuesday with a relatively relaxed mindset 🍹belatedly celebrating Mr PGs 75th birthday!

Lovely to see pics of Grandmabattys minions - just the cutest! FGT jetting off to her happy place for one more 🏖️ sweeping stint this year is good news too! Oh, and Miss Marydoll really needs to set to publishing a book with her hilarious tales of mishaps and misunderstandings 🤣

So poignant reading Susan’s news about mum…💐 it’s the step I’m dreading with my dad and I applaud all who are dealing with these difficult decisions 👏

Will pop in later and read of your weekend bizzinesses x

Good morning from Malta where we have another warm, dry day in store.

Lovely photo Ashconbe, it looks like a painting.

No plans today other than a trip to the ATM. I still like to have some cash on me despite the ever increasing use of credit cards.

Have a good day all.☀️

Good morning, it’s dry here on my hillside in south Glos, still dark and quiet at the moment.
There’s a vixen who’s very noisy in the woods behind us, she was very close to the house yesterday afternoon, we often hear her in the early hours too.
I spent several hours first thing yesterday finishing sorting out my fabric stash and advertising things that I no longer want on the local Facebook groups.
I was tired after that so happily sat and finished DGS1’s socks and took them to the post office before starting a pair for DGS2.
An early dog walk this morning then who knows what I will do today? Nothing planned so I can suit myself 😊
I hope you have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from a dry, mild Cornwall. Longest walk since my knee op yesterday, just around town, passing the house where I was born. Then took a train two stops to my favourite charity shop for lunch.

Today my granddaughter is back again, probably wanting to make bread as she did on Wednesday, but I have sorted my long-neglected basement workroom in case she wants to do a big painting. Lovely photo Ash.

grandMattie Sat 02-Nov-24 06:29:11

Good morning from a misty bristol.
I have only just woken up after a night ending at 2am, then dozing since then. I wish I slept better.
Lovely photo, Ash, at first, I thought it was FGT2 posting from her happy place!
Had a fairly successful day yesterday. I went into town to get odds and ends, got myself some lined leggings which seem great for the cooler weather.
I have found a charming little cafe run by the Methodist church, in an oasis of green and calm, where I enjoyed a cuppa, before carrying on with my shopping. The Christmas market was being set up and the music is very loud indeed…
The rest of the day was spent pottering and sewing.
Today, much the same; church coffee, potter, sew…
Good vibes to those who need it. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Morning all from a very dark but dry day here on the east coast of Fife. I think it’s to be dull all day but I won’t mind that because I’ll be nice and cosy watching tv from my corner sofa.
It will be a hot croissant for breakfast today with lots of butter, I was given free bread and croissants free from my club yesterday. Aldis handed them in they’re so good at giving to my club and their bread is delicious.

Have a safe day my friends thinking of you always

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. The weekend has come around again so fast! I am off to DD2 this morning to work together on DGD2’s tutu, we are struggling with this somewhat ….
I have a telephone chat to a friend scheduled in this afternoon as we don’t live near each other for our fortnightly catch up and to plan our next meet up which will be in the New Year now.
Tonight we are going with DD2 and the GC to the village fireworks display and then a fish and chip supper together.
Hope Saturday is kind to all, have a good day 💐

Good morning from Dublin.

Thank you for your kind thoughts yesterday, I appreciate it.

My Uncle’s send off was beautiful, he would have loved it. After the Requiem Mass and the crematorium service we walked through the cemetery to the Columbarium Wall where the ashes of my parents, and those of my aunt are interred, to lay the funeral flowers there.

The gathering afterwards was a noisy, chatty afternoon where many stories of the exploits of my uncle were shared. It was a memorable day.

My mother’s generation is dwindling but we’re lucky to still have the few who are left.

DD and I along with my brother will have a walk around the neighbourhood this morning then have brunch before DD and I have to leave for the airport. My brother will catch the car ferry back to France at about the same time.

DH will collect me from Edinburgh Airport and we’ll go directly to DS’s house where we’re looking after the children overnight.

Tomorrow hopefully I’ll catch up with all your news when I’m back home. Meanwhile I wish you all the best day possible.

Greyduster Sat 02-Nov-24 06:57:17

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from York where it is still dark. DS is driving me home today. I’ve had a lovely few days away rounded off yesterday with a walk along the River Ouse in the sunshine, a very nice lunch in town and a wander round the shops. York is a lovely city but, as you would expect, far too busy in the school holidays.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Susan56 Sat 02-Nov-24 07:03:51

Good morning from Shropshire where another dry and dull day is forecast.

Thank you again for your kindness and support re my mum.I really appreciate you all on this lovely thread.I hope the gaurdianship application has moved forward for Grandmabatty and her mum.

The children are both still asleep so I am being very quiet!Today is sewing club for DGD and brunch and Lego club for H.Today is their monthly pocket money day so shopping after their clubs finish.DD is making roast dinner for this evening for us all.

Well done on the walk Ash.I am thinking walking poles may be a good Christmas gift for DH.

Thinking of Blossoming💐and everyone struggling.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Grandmabatty Sat 02-Nov-24 07:09:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry, I think. Lovely photos Ash and greyduster. Thank you all for your kind comments yesterday and today.
Yesterday was a busy one and made me realise how lazy I've become. Lawyer first thing with paperwork for mum and to pay the balance. Then home to tidy up and prepare for DD and dgs2 who likes to pop in after playgroup for soup. Three ladlefuls he had yesterday. Then a trip to town to meet a friend who is having a very difficult time. Back home via the pharmacy and the library and replying to emails from mum's social worker.
Today is housework day. I will get all the washing done too and that's all I intend to do. I might head to the retail park to buy art supplies or the garden centre for compost or maybe both! Enjoy your day all

luluaugust Sat 02-Nov-24 07:25:37

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Off to DD2 for the 18th birthday celebration of DGD2. Both sides of the family in attendance so I hope to catch up with DD’s MIL for a chat
DD1 phoned as DGS2 has found a permanent job at last, unfortunately he will be leaving teaching
Best wishes to all

kittylester Sat 02-Nov-24 07:25:58

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it appears to be drizzly.

I am aiming to do very little today after I have changed the bed, fed DH a rematch breakfast and prepped our meal for tonight.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Sat 02-Nov-24 07:34:46

Good morning everyone from Essex where it’s grey, damp and fairly mild. We had a lovely sunny hour or so in the morning, before the gloom descended again. My lovely son in law came over and replaced half of my shed roof, hopefully it will be nice and dry in there now.
Beautiful photos ash and greyduster, nice to be able to sit and enjoy those views.
I won’t see family today, DD1 has friends staying, and DD2 is taking her girls out for the day. I will just have to get on with the dusting etc that I’ve been putting off for days!
Thinking of all who are going through difficult times.
Have the best day possible everyone!

brook2704 Sat 02-Nov-24 07:54:16

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just light, we’ve a few pinkish clouds around but it looks dry.
Good for your Dad and his adventurous spirit Pantglas and how lovely to have a Caribbean cruise to look forward to, just what’s needed at this time of year
Lovely photos Ash and greyduster thanks for sharing
I’m off out this morning for a bit of food shopping, Tesco is next to our local Dobbies garden centre which is closing permanently at the end of December. It’s a big unit that will remain empty I guess, I’m not sure if anyone will take it on. I might call into DD2s to see how she’s getting on as I do worry about her, but I need to do it in a subtle way
I hope your DGS settles into his new job ok lulu and well done to him and enjoy the birthday celebrations today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Georgesgran Sat 02-Nov-24 07:56:02

Good morning from Durham. There’s been rain overnight.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then doing something with DD2 and DGS2 while her DH is at a home game. No doubt she’ll have a bag of laundry for me - I don’t mind.
I was raking leaves yesterday, when the gardeners turned up unexpectedly. I was so pleased that they could deal with all the leaves. There’s more to fall, but I can manage those.
💐Blossoming

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a dull damp looking Suffolk where it was grey all day yesterday.

Awaiting the arrival of DS and their puppy who is unexpectedly with us for the weekend as they are away and the arrangements they made for her care have fallen through. Parents to the rescue!

Luckily we have no real plans so we can happily accommodate. Our dog sorts her out and lets her have her toys she’s not keen on.

I’m glad to have a quiet weekend. Yesterday involved quite a long drive to take DH to collect his car from a small garage which was dealing with the damaged wheel trims…..a result of DD2 using the car in Bristol for a few weeks months ago . She is an excellent driver but squeezes into the smallest of parking spaces …..hence the damage.

The traffic was horrendous and we drove back in the dark which I don’t like. A day with no driving today is welcome.

RosiesMaw2 Sat 02-Nov-24 08:01:16

Good morning - back home after a lovely few days in Somerset.
Journey from hell though - fine as far as Bicester where for whatever reason the police just closed the road - police car across it, blue lights everywhere, and everybody doing a u-turn.
Diversion signs? No chance. It was getting dark, busy with people no doubt trying to get home and acres of domestic housing estates either side of the Buckingham road out of the town. Satnav refused to believe the road was closed and kept directing me back to it and I feared I would be found this morning when Mick gets his bus to Bicester - just driving round like a demented Skoda Flying Dutchman, condemned to drive round Bicester for ever.
I was NOT a happy gran but eventually found something that was not a residential cul de sac and made it to the ring road, getting home after about the slowest journey ever, in the dark along the sort of winding country roads with oncoming headlights which I hate.
Just got to pick Rosie up today and get a Waitrose delivery and try to get on top of what feels like the third cold in as many weeks.
It looks as if we could be in for another lovely day November is doing well so far!

rocketstop Sat 02-Nov-24 08:09:12

Good Morning from damp and drizzly west Yorkshire. We had early fog which has lifted to drizzle.
Envious of all those with nice days , even more envious of those near the sea !!

Jaxjacky Sat 02-Nov-24 08:09:45

Morning from grey again S Hants, I’m cheered by your pictures Ash and greyduster thank you.
A quiet day yesterday, my daughter called in briefly, I didn’t even go to the local, MrJ went on his own, I watched a short film with my can of shandy.
Today we need to spread manure over the garden, it’s sat in bags on the patio at the moment. Newspaper to read later, my weekly treat.
Cruise sounds timely pant we did one in the region a few years ago but in January.
Safe journey back baubles

Good morning everyone from the Scottish Borders where it has been raining all night but is now clear.
I was up till the early hours firing my kiln but didn't manage much of a long lie.

My oven door replaced so I baked my usual cake for the community café but managed to burn the top!

Today I shall be joining a foraging expedition walk on a university campus.

Lovely photos this morning, thanks.

I'm glad the funeral went "well" Baubles

GrannySomerset Sat 02-Nov-24 08:27:10

DD had a horrendous journey from Liverpool yesterday so you were not alone in finding yesterday’s travel awful, Maw, presumably because it was the end of half term. No plans for the day though DSiL is suggesting power washing the patio which certainly needs it. Lovely to have them here but exhausting!
