Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry outside here in brackley .
Yesterdays ,normal routine never happened , my bowels got the better of me ,and trying to control it, with taking Laperamide capsules did not happen until later .
Today a quiet day spent indoors with a clear up as to things have lunch, and relax.
Take Care,
Mick

Re. Mick, perhaps we should flood him with pms? Then he can hardly say he didn’t see the posts…

Good morning all and it’s very quiet here on the Suffolk coast after last nights surprise firework display on the beach. The campsite must have organised it. We had front row seats. 🎆🎇.

I sat on the beach yesterday with little pooch watching the waves rolling in, not another person in sight. Very therapeutic.
Dh went to the local footie match and I made a stew with dumplings. Today I’ll make pasties with the leftovers.

I hope your sister is home again soon Bonnybanko. 💐
Take it easy Mick.
Sorry you feel lonely Bellasnanna. 💐
Roseandlilac I hope you feel better . 💐.
Good luck and happy times in your allotment Karma. Keep us updated with your progress. 👩‍🌾.

Take care all 🌻🍁

FGT we considered pans of water, but the caravan has to be towed back into the compound when we leave. Customers are not allowed in there.

So we buy the ones in little containers and put them in washing up bowls. They too are full of water come the Spring!

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely bright start to the day
Sorry to hear about your sister bonnybanko
Good to hear you’re making steady progress holly
I’m looking forward to our Sunday facetime call with DS, it’ll be good to hear all his news. After that I’m planning to get wrapped up and go out in the garden, the fresh air and exercise will do me good. This afternoon DGS is coming for a sleepover so we’ll probably end up playing whichever board game is his current favourite.
Your new allotment sounds promising Karma although lots of work ahead, I hope you enjoy clearing it and getting it in order
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a dull Cambridgeshire. The local firework display last night was very good and not too many loud bangs and whizzes etc just lots of very pretty extremely spectacular fireworks. It was a mild dry evening and the bonfire burnt well warming everyone. We went back to DD2’s house for fish & chip supper and watched Strictly.
Today must be a garden day I need to get those bulbs in some pots, plant out a new Hellebore and general clipping and tidying. DH does get clipper happy so will be monitoring him…
We will have roast pork later and settle down with the TV and our books.

Wishing a peaceful day to all 💐

Re. Mick, perhaps we should flood him with pms? Then he can hardly say he didn’t see the posts…

I am pretty sure Mick doesn't come back and read the posts.

His situation is really worrying, when he obviously needs medical intervention and given his past history. 🙁

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 03-Nov-24 08:16:47

I don’t think Mick ever reads his thread either hollysteers as he has never once in all the years come back to pass a comment on any aspect of it, hence I no longer exhort him to seek help. He’s his own man, fair enough.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's mild again.

My foraging expedition was informative and fun but the only edibles I foraged were from my DF greenhouse.

Our art group exhibition opens this afternoon so I baked a cake last night after setting up my section.

Quaker Meeting here this morning so I'll need to make a soup for the lunch after.

One of our number, a dear person, is now in terminal care. I have to be the bearer of sad news.

Sorry about your ds Bonny. Did we meet her at one of our meetups in Edinburgh, years ago?

Lovely photos again. Here is mine of "wax caps" and "plums and custard"

Hope everyone has some joy today.

Marydoll Sun 03-Nov-24 08:25:03

Grammaretto, I think it is Bonny's twin sister.

Good morning from another dull and dank day in Oxfordshire, I hate dull damp days.

Off to Dunelm with MissOops later to buy some bits and pieces, then another shopping delivery late afternoon.

MissOops and MrOops are out most of the evenings in the car with the dog as there are so many firework displays and she is terrified. Tonights effort is supposed to be the noisiest in Oxfordshire, it’s a few miles away but the thumps and bang sounds really carry. Great. Only another week or so of noisy evenings……….

Hope all the poorlies soon start to feel better. Have a good day everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 03-Nov-24 08:33:15

Ask the vet for a mild tranquilliser Oops to take for several nights. Saves the poor dog (and you all) stressing.

But he can hardly miss “personal messages”, can he? They go to his email inbox.

Morning Mick, morning All. Another grey, mild day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

Chores tackled yesterday morning we enjoyed a tasty lunch at our favourite cafe. Added to our battery garden light stash. Mr C wasted no time installing them, it cheered us both to see lights out there last night.

More faffing around today. Mr C has promised to dig out a too vigorous for the space plant as it’s garden waste collection day tomorrow. I’ll supervise - best to avoid the wrong plant disappearing - make up the guest bed and try to turn what has become a dumping ground back into a room.

We’re all worried about you Mick, please do seek advice tomorrow. Pleased to hear your progress holly. You must just be worried bonnybanko flowers. Go steadily with that allotment karma, an exciting challenge for you.

Have the best as you can everyone.

Morning from yet another grey start, send a little ☀️over FGT please!
Sorry to hear that Bonny 🤞for a swift recovery.
Well done karmalady I bought a Ravel watch from them recently, £7, does the job.
It’s our wedding anniversary today, a glorious 17 years, we’ll be out for lunch later and this evening there’s an espresso martini with my name on it.

Morning everyone, I intend to channel my inner sloth today.

Book, sofa and then let Mr.Gravy take me out for a late Sunday lunch…

(I wonder who has been coaching me? #lazygran 😘🩷)

Good morning from a grey Suffolk where we have just got up after a bad night. DS’s dog sleeps on their bed and ours sleeps in our kitchen.

So at about 10.30pm with both dog beds in the kitchen we and they went to bed,us to sleep but our visiting dog to try and make us take notice that she didn’t intend to go to sleep there. A quiet day beckons I hope.

DH has just given me a cuppa and I’ll now read your posts, nearly 40 of them when I started this.

Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy-again-Carlisle. I've forgotten what a sun looks like...

Yesterday was a drive about stocking up my larder and refuelling the car. Driving south from the city along the main road, I was surprised to see a deer quietly grazing on the verge, totally unmoved by the busy Saturday traffic. Have had horrid thoughts of it being spooked and leaping in front of my car.
I also saw yet another skein of geese flying north. You are going the wrong way, guys! FGT has the right idea...

Today I might get out in the garden although I don't want to aggravate my bug which is threatening to resurge. I'm thinking I'm going to have to wear a mask next time the train has problems and gets crowded. Even if I am the only one doing it.

And there's stacks of reading to catch up with, books, papers, magazines. The trouble is, I like to keep active even if I do love my reading. The days aren't long enough, that's the problem.

I'm concerned about Mick too, but what to do?!

Best wishes to you and your sister Bonnybanko, I hope she's soon well.

And a pleasant Sunday to you all.

RosiesMaw2 Sun 03-Nov-24 09:31:03

Good (late) morning from a grey N Bucks.
Kennel living must have exhausted poor Rosie, she slept through until 9 o clock too!
I second, third and fourth the opinion that Mick should seek advice. Ignoring symptoms is rarely the right thing to do, particularly with a background of bowel illness.
Karma I wish you well with your allotment, may it bring you much joy because it certainly isn’t going to save you any money with the financial outlay you describe! grin
We applied for an allotment when we came to the village 40 yeas ago and were offered (but turned down) one without water or storage a good half mile walk out of the village. A very short time after we had a second offer, the large vegetable garden of a council house barely 100 yards up the road, belonging to an elderly lady who had recently lost her keen gardener husband.
Of course there was storage for tools (even some tools themselves!) water, and also even occasional cups of tea and a chat. It was perfect and paw took great pride in producing unusual veg , heritage carrots and quantities of courgettes and beans you couldn’t give away! But the pleasure was in the producing.
I have no plans for today but wish you all a safe and peaceful one with hopes of good news of all who are poorly.

EkwaNimitee Sun 03-Nov-24 10:09:35

Yes, Happy Anniversary to you and your man, Jaxjacky!
