Can anyone here interpret dreams, please?

I had a vivid dream last night that I found two extra rooms in my house. They weren’t hidden- they were at the top of a clearly visible flight of stairs - but I didn’t know they were there. I have had different versions of this before, sometimes almost like going through a portal to series of ‘new’ rooms and getting lost in them.

Has anyone else had similar dreams, or can anyone suggest what they might mean, please?

90% of my dreams are horrible, scary. (nightmares I suppose where I can wake up shouting screaming) It is a wonder my next door neighbour doesn't come knocking! Almost always have a big bear in them that is either going to get me one way or another. It is one of those massive big brown bears.

I never ever watch programmes with bears is as I fear it will trigger a dream, I even turn away and mute when that Twix advert comes on. I very rarely have nice dreams.

I have the same dream Doodle.

As someone else said; you must interpret your dreams. I have recently downsized after always having a big house, so mine is telling me I need more room/s.

I also believe we can have memories from our ancestors coming through.

Paddy I saw a documentary on this and they actually found the person in the dream!

Interesting.

Thanks for all the comments. I’m no wiser though😀. I’m not thinking of up or downsizing, and have no plans to move house unless life changes.

My son moved house yesterday, but not into the house in the dream, which was definitely my house with extra rooms - in fact an extra floor. His house isn’t ‘in need of work’ like the rooms in the dream, so I don’t think there is a connection there.

A few people have mentioned aspects of myself that need exploring. I’m not ruling that out (although I don’t know what they might be), and can’t help wondering why my subconscious would hint at something like that without just coming out and showing me more directly. If I have buried areas of my psyche that are emerging, or have emerged to the point that I am dreaming about them, why are there no clues as to what they are?

I understand the points about needing to analyse oneself. I was interested to know whether others have had a similar dream (clearly it is not at all unusual) and whether they understood what the dream was about for them, not asking anyone to explain what mine meant to me. I think dreams must have some meaning, or why do so many of us have the same ones?

Anyway, I haven’t seen the rooms again, which is a shame, as I would like to explore them further.

One night, we'll all be wandering around our dream houses, we'll open the door, and there will be a group of gransnetters behind it.

Dreams are just a way of your brain sorting out random facts from your waking day.
Like a computer putting data into folders.
My frequent dream was returning to my childhood home and wandering around. In the last few years I have been denied entrance, the present owners chase me off the doorstep.
I hated the house and couldn't wait to leave home on the eve of my 18th birthday so why was I sent back over and over ?
I do know that the present owners have added an extension and reconfigured the rooms which may account for me not being able to walk around the house.
The strange thing is my sister has the same dream and she too has had the door slammed in her face. We often talk about the dream and say " maybe we are haunting them ".

Hi Doodledog, I have 3 Dream Dictionaries I find very good. I’ve looked up your dreams, rooms, barefoot and waves, but as I have the three to consult it is quite a lengthy answer. I would suggest buying one of these Dictionaries from your local bookshop. All the best.

I had two dreams many years ago, both of which came true.
I told my mother about one and she interpreted it for me using a psychological interpretation - wrongly as it turned out because it happened exactly as in the dream.

The other I told no-one about until after the event.

That’s interesting but inly happened twice? So you were a child?
Children always seem closer to unusual occurrences and have open minds.

Mine usually feature lions, if they're nightmares.

Or really awful paranormal stuff, like you'd see in horror films.

Last night I dreamed that I had two relics of the Buddha in my care and I was showing them carefully to people. One was his hot water bottle and the other was an embroidery of him with a typewritten letter purporting to belong to him. No I wasn’t cold and although I’ve been to where he sat under his tree I am baffled where that came from. I now have a mental picture of Buddha sitting under his tree ,sweating with the heat and his hottie and typing carefully away.

No, I was an adult, married by the first time, in my 30s the second time.

I think so too. I also think that dreams are a form of consciousness that show emotions which have not been dealt with, come to terms with, during waking awareness.

Frequent dreams feature mysterious and threatening rooms in a house or other space, and these rooms stand for 'spaces' in your life that need conscious and sober attention.

I have two main themes, not able to fully input a number into a phone and not finding the top stair on a flight of stairs, both have me waking in a cold sweat

I had a horrible dream the other night.

I was in a disused building, being chased by a horrible, shuffling, groaning being.

Half man, half robot but with an air of the supernatural to it.

It shuffled along using some sort of walking stick, with a light at the bottom of it, and was poking in all the corners and tapping along the walls with it.

I went into a toilet cubicle to hide, but had to hold the door shut by getting on my knees and, and putting my fingers under the door.

The thing came shuffling along in the dark, heading for the cubicle, and I knew its light would shine onto my fingers...
Then I woke up. Phew!!! Thankfully!!
