Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley , looks like another day of grey cloud without any sunshine.
My usual bus trip to Bicester ,and today it will be on the original route ,as they did away with a roundabout , and have altered the road so its traffic light controlled.
Health front I am Ok at the moment.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a dark but dry north Wales where I’m all exited over my chamberpot ☕️and awaiting our chauffeur for pickup to Portsmouth 🚢🤗

My suitcase weighs a ton and Mr PG is gloating that he travels light…😤 let’s see who’s forgotten what by the end eh!

Belated 🥂 for birthdays and anniversaries and I so envy Mizuna and Karma their allotments- not for the actual hard gardening you understand, more the produce I could turn into scoffable meals 😋

Hugs to all with health worries, their own or loved ones 💐 and those with sad memories of loss x

Can’t promise pretty pics as I’m renowned for ruining stunning scenery etc with the odd thumb or bystanders waving! I will catch up most mornings with your mischiefs so make ‘em as norty as you can 😂

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay.

Bon voyage, Pantglas2! Safe travels to Portsmouth and beyond!

Yesterday, I managed to stand when required for all the exercises at Move It or Lose It, but I lack the vigour of my earlier years with this group. This afternoon, I’ll attend the fifth of six sessions of physiotherapy talks and exercises at the hospital. Props session this morning so back to the theatre again.

Enjoy whatever your day brings! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from another mild, grey, dry Bristol.
Enjoy you trip, pant.
Apart from a foray to Tesco yesterday,I saw no one. I did ask my friend if she’d take me to Lidl at the end of the week; they have a great Christmas plant/bulb offer this coming week.
I cleaned the floors, but dust rarely. I hate dusting.
I have made one Christmas runner for a church craft sale next week, for MSF. I’m going to try and make another, finish a cushion and possibly an apron. A few different things to the usual tat.
Today, we have a big meeting regarding the finances of the management company. We shall have the usual whinges which should be dealt with locally, not centrally. Our maintenance fees are going up for the next financial year, but since the company’s budget was prepared, we’ve had the government one. Our fees will inevitably go up hugely. Oh, hell!
Other than that, I’ll sew and try to make the above mentioned stuff asap. Next week is going to be busy.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, again a dreary weather day but it suits me right now

Pantglas, have a lovely break, your posts are always so cheery, they make me smile

More of the same for me today, swinging my mattock, sawing, digging roots, chopping. I am not aching but my thumbs have been bramble-pricked several times and are stingy. My new leather gardening gloves have arrived to protect my hands

It would be easy to get overwhelmed but I have all winter to get rid of my mountainous pile of trees, twigs, roots, decaying wood, which is becoming very big. I need to remember that and carry on with the actual groundwork , to get it done and covered for winter. Getting everything to the car is difficult, quite a long way but who needs a step counter

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Tue 05-Nov-24 06:15:45

Good morning from south Glos, the weather forecast is more of the same today, hopefully with some blue sky?
Another quiet day here, I’m doing a dog walk with my friend and her dog this afternoon, I’m looking forward to that. Yesterday morning’s walk took us through thick layers f crunchy fallen leaves, it took me back to being a child and kicking them up as you walk along.
The leaves are changing quickly now, the woods behind us are all glorious shades from green to chestnut brown to yellow 😍
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7 degrees and cloudy.

Safe journey, Pants and enjoy.

I am in the Tesco delivery Christmas slot queue. I need to avoid the crowded shops at Christmas, in case I catch something. It's just like trying to get a GP appointment, you phone as soon as the lines open and there are a million people in front of you. I was already logged in before 6am. It is indeed a mystery.

I have nothing to report, yesterday was very quiet, due to the fact I am feeling really out of sorts. It is unsettling me, for that feeling usually precludes a heart or lung episode.

Today, my plan is to strip down my sewing machine and try to find out what ails it.
Yesterday, I broke three needles and the spool keeps tangling. I did clean the shuttle, but it has made no difference. I am seriously toying with buying a new one. However, is it a waste of money, for I will never get my money's worth? wink
My dilemma is should I buy a computerised one or not, but that only means more things can go wrong and I no longer do anything fancy sewing.

Enjoy your day folks and I hope the poorlies begin to feel better.

Mizuna Tue 05-Nov-24 06:24:59

Good morning from Cornwall where it's cloudy and still. An unplanned evening at my daughter-in-law's yesterday, eating a yummy chicken casserole. She has bought two more dolls' houses - that makes four now in her tiny cottage - and we shared lots of oohs and aahs as we 'walked' through the rooms. They're old, collectors' items really.

Finally finished my denim waistcoat with a patchwork back made from M&S floral cord jeans from the 50p rail at my favourite charity shop.

Tonight my son and I will be at a communal firework display put on by the fire brigade.

monk08 Tue 05-Nov-24 06:25:34

Good morning all from a dark but dry Black country.
Car goes for its MOT today and we have arranged for them to pick it up.
grandMattie when DiLs mum commented on her dusting habits she replied why bother it only comes back.
Just a shop at Iceland today 10% day and I need a few things.
Pantglas have a lovely holiday safe travels 🛳.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Bellasnana Tue 05-Nov-24 06:27:07

Good morning from another sunny day in Malta with a high of 26°C and a low of 15°C.

Bon voyage Pantglas, enjoy your cruise. Look forward to hearing news of your travels. 🚢

Had a nice morning with my friend yesterday, then when I got home decided to put the rug back in the living room even though it’s not really wintry weather. The dog was so pleased!

I’m taking it easy this morning but will go over to keep DD3 company whilst she does her cooking for the week. Those boys certainly have some delicious, healthy meals prepared for them.

Sorry you are not feeling too good Marydoll. It’s impressive how you keep so busy even when feeling below par. 💐

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

grandMattie Tue 05-Nov-24 06:31:21

Oh, absolutely, monk. I dust about every 6 weeks or so, before it get too awful, but most of my furniture is IKEA white and it doesn’t show. 😂

Grandmabatty Tue 05-Nov-24 06:34:44

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Pantglas have a lovely holiday! Marydoll buy a new sewing machine if you want to. If it makes you happy, why not?
Yesterday was a good day with the boys. Dgs2 was a bit out of sorts with an upset tummy but it settled in the afternoon.
Today will be a repeat of yesterday. School drop off then back home. Dgs2 is keen to do some painting so I expect that'll happen. I'll try and get him out to a park if it stays dry. Then pick up from school and take them home later. There are few benefits about being hard of hearing, but one is not hearing fireworks at random times! Pulled pork and salad for dinner. Have a good day all

cornergran Tue 05-Nov-24 06:41:04

Morning Mick, morning All. Not looked out yet, the forecast is for more grey and gloomy.

All change yesterday as my friend messaged to say she had become very unwell overnight. Raging fever and a cough. I’ll check how she is later. Not to be daunted I ventured forth with Mr C to find a replacement for our kettle which had developed a faulty switch after many years of (over!) use. We wandered, inspected, checked reviews and bought - an updated model of the old kettle. No hope really.

A very pleasant day, we were under no time pressure, enjoyed wandering, chatted to two interesting people on a coach trip stop off over lunch and a real bonus made it home before the traffic built.

It all diverted me from anxiety about todays dental appointment. I am a very nervous patient and our current dentist is as far from a people person as it’s possible to be. I’m not at all sure if or how my broken tooth can be fixed or indeed if I’ll find his suggestions acceptable. At least the appointment is this morning and I can look forward to a less stressed afternoon.

Bon voyage pantglas, no harm in packing for all eventualities, I do the same smile. Have fun.

Time for a morning cuppa now, have the best day you can everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 05-Nov-24 06:49:10

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I will listen to two Art History lectures later on from the V&A. I watch on Teams. If I miss one I can access the recordings for six weeks.

After lunch I’m going to see one of my oldest friends in the village. Annoyingly I have to drive as even though she lives in the village, there is no pavement and she lives on a dangerous bend.

OH will be at his shooting club tonight so I’ll catch up with the Bake Off.

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you who are experiencing difficulties.

Sar53 Tue 05-Nov-24 06:50:11

Good morning from the spare bedroom at DD1 's house.
It's been full on as usual with all the girl's activities.
Tonight the eldest is a Young Guider, the middle one is going to Sea Cadets and the youngest is going to a firework display with her dad. DD1 and I will stay at home with the puppy, although fireworks don't seem to bother him.
Yesterday DD1 and I went to Stratford for a wander around the shops and lunch. I like Stratford.
Today we are going food shopping and then I am going to help her with some sorting out.
Tomorrow I go home.
Enjoy your holiday Pantglas.
Have a lovely Tuesday and best wishes to all xx

grandMattie Tue 05-Nov-24 06:53:00

I agree with, batty, MD. S.d the cost and the fact “it won’t’do’ you”, dollie can have it. I’m sure she’s already good at using a machine.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Nov-24 07:06:48

Morning everyone from my cosy bed, looking outside it is grey!

I shall potter until school pick-up and swimming lessons for The Imp and 9yr old. Them it’s back here for Burgers, Hot Dogs, ice cream before fireworks in our garden (they are silent ones, no bangs just a soft whooshies )

Safe journey and enjoy your cruise pantglas

Enjoy the time with your girls Ssr53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Just getting light here in South Yorkshire. I’m waiting for the heating engineer to come. He shut the boiler down completely yesterday to do some diagnostics and we have to wait and see what the result is this morning. Meanwhile, I’ve had no heating or hot water and it is bloomin’ cold here. But I like to think I’m a hardy soul!
Thankyou for all your birthday wishes yesterday - they mean a lot. Volunteering this afternoon.
Good luck at the dentist, Corner.
Have the best day you can folks.

Redcar Tue 05-Nov-24 07:23:16

Good morning everyone from the usual grey, dry and mild Essex! We did have some nice bright sunshine yesterday afternoon which was pleasant.
Didn’t do much yesterday, visited the podiatrist in the morning, changed the bedclothes and washed them. Did some ironing, a boring sort of day!
Today I’ll go for a walk, then have a blood test this afternoon. As I’m staying at DD1’s after my hip operation I’ll take a few things over to her after my blood test.
pantglas have a wonderful holiday in the sunshine.
karma enjoy your allotment, I’m sure all the hard work will be worth it when you begin to harvest the fresh fruit and vegetables. marydoll I hope you feel better soon. Get a new sewing machine if it makes life easier for you!
Thinking of all those with anxieties and worries.
Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Tue 05-Nov-24 07:25:06

Good morning all from a still grey North Leicestershire.

Today I am going to a friend's for lunch, coincidentally a fellow GNer will be there too. We live in a small town!!! I also have singing lesson.

Have the best day possible, everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 05-Nov-24 07:37:04

Good morning everyone from Málaga where the sun has got its hat on already. No wonder oldies like to winter in sunny climes - good for the soul as well as the bones. Talking of which Pants enjoy your Caribbean cruise! Years ago I read how poorer folk visit the Canaries in winter whilst the rich go to the Caribbean! Nuff said. 🤣

Well Tuesday = Ladies Who Wine. 🍷
This afternoon we have to walk to another new watering hole (this one will be our 4th in the 10 years since we started the group - this actual month when I think on it). Maria Carmen has shut up shop and sold the lease. Neighbours there do not know what the new owner intends with the premises. Another bar? Unlikely they think as it’s off the beaten track back from the main road and so ill placed to attract new punters.

Anyhow the 2 who live out here will be joined not only by myself (I’ve brought them each a box of Thornton’s fudge and the Saga magazines I’ve read) but by another holidaymaker too who hails from Yorkshire. I’ve not seen her for about a year as we’ve not quite overlapped and I’m really looking forward to a jolly catch up with all their news.

Our ‘new’ venue ◀️

Marydoll Tue 05-Nov-24 07:39:25

Wooohoo, I got my Christmas delivery slot of choice and while waiting in the queue, received a lovely PM from a fellow Gransnetter.

Jaxjacky Tue 05-Nov-24 07:39:28

Morning, a grey day again, have a smashing cruise pantglas 🚢.
Good luck Corner it’s my least favourite place too.
Cold/cough in full force now and very annoying, I eat so much more fruit and veg than MrJ and he remains germ free!
I may batch cook some lasagna today, it’s on my list of ttd, or I might just wallow in paracetamol and tissues!
Enjoy yours.

ginny Tue 05-Nov-24 07:40:17

Good morning. It’s dull again but mild and dry outside in N. Bucks.
I’ve been enjoying painting Christmas cards, mainly snowman themed this year. I’ll try to remember a few pics
Off to try and sort out my glasses this morning. Thanks to those of you who commented about them yesterday.
Later I’ll be spending a couple of hours with DD3 and the boys while DH puts up a couple of hand rails for our next door neighbour.
Thoughts with those who are poorly and a good day wished for all.

brook2704 Tue 05-Nov-24 07:47:41

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy but dry and mild
Have a wonderful holiday sailing the seas pantglas I’m looking forward to hearing all about it ⛴️
It sounds like you’re really enjoying your new allotment karma good for you, it’s certainly keeping you busy
I’ve a volunteering session this morning then a quick trip into town, hopefully some gardening later to get some fresh air.
Oh my goodness greyduster I hope the heating engineer turns up soon, you shouldn’t be without heating and hot water for any length of time
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
