Lovely to see you back Kalu. My best wishes to you 💐

Good morning from the Angus coast where the sun has just risen. We're forecast sunshine and cloud all day which is an improvement on the dank and dreary last couple of days. That dampness permeates everything, doesn't it.
Just picking up from previous posts about what is happening across the Pond. Heaven help us all, and how can so many people be so blind. I've loathed him ever since he waltzed into Scotland shouting Land Mine! and grabbing a large swathe of Aberdeenshire for a golf course and demanding that there should be no wind farm off the coast because it would spoil the view. He will never be forgiven!
Yesterday after tai chi I just came home and had a much-needed relaxing afternoon after the excitement of DGD3's 19th birthday at the weekend. Today is the dental hygienist, which doesn't really bother me, but next month is The Dentist and a filling and I have collywobbles about that already! I'm not at all brave. Good luck with your lovely new dentist Corner.
Bank with the tai chi money, and the weekly shop after that - another exciting day!
Enjoy your day everyone ☀️

Good morning from another dull damp Suffolk with,no doubt, crops of mushrooms at the bottom of our garden and in the wood.

We always get them but we saw a large carpet of them yesterday in the wood where we’ve never seen them before. Neither of us know anything about which ones are safe to eat and as DH doesn’t like them, we leave well alone.

Off to my keep fit class soon and then coffee afterwards with 3 pals. We have coffee once a month,on the first Wednesday. It helps having a regular date otherwise weeks go by and other things intervene. Cake and lots of laughs guaranteed.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle, it's a dark day today...in more ways than one.

Yesterday I went into town for my flu jab, administered in the pharmacy by a pleasant, chatty young man. He insisted on taking my blood pressure which he will send to my GP. It was ever so slightly high, it's usually perfectly normal. Now I'm to take it every morning for a week before I get up. I have a machine, inherited from DH but rarely bother with it. A pill will sort it out if it remains on the high side he tells me. No it won't, because I'm not going to take pills! I wonder if this is a push from the NHS? I must arrange the Covid jab next which I don't look forward to if it's going to be Moderna as I had bad reactions to the last two which were that one.

As for today, nothing definite planned. I have admin to do and would like a walk but deliveries are due and the clouds look very heavy which could put the lid on any thoughts of gardening too. We'll see....I like the occasional day of nothing planned...as long as I do something and don't idle it away without achieving anything.

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Good morning from Shropshire where another dull day is forecast.

Yesterday I started sorting my many books.I have a book cupboard rather than shelves and I can’t fit another book in it.I sorted exactly 100 to go and also half a dozen jigsaws.DH meanwhile dug up and boiled beetroot.

We will go into town today to offload the books and we also have a few more things to buy before we go down to West Wales next week.

A successful dentist visit corner and hopefully a new and more compassionate dentist is good news.

Lovely to see you posting Kalu💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from Durham. Another still, grey day. I’m meeting my oldest friend this morning. She, in my opinion, isn’t dealing well with an issue involving her DGD - I’ll have to be diplomatic!
Later, I’m going to see DGS1, then DGS2 and I’ll bring DD2’s Little Dog back here for a single sleepover. No walk, as it’ll be too late/dark.
Words fail me over America’s decision - voting in a madman??
💐Kalu
Best wishes to all. X

Good Morning: 9th day in a row and we have even more dull and duller never-ending grey cloud. Why?

Marydoll Wed 06-Nov-24 08:56:29

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

I have nothing much to report. As usual, yesterday I overspent in Lidl . DH had requested a simple Panettone, but they had none, apart from chocolate, orange etc.
I picked up a veggie box for £1.50. I worked out that there was at least £15 worth of veg in it. I have given the three bags of celery to SIL to make soup, but what on earth am I going to do with 10 parsnips? Neither of us like parsnips.
Babydoll will be delighted with her strawberries, when she comes tomorrow!

My plan had been to clear out the freezer, but I was exhausted, However, I did make the most delicious brownies, for DS1, who was coming to watch the football.
I never get a chance to talk to him on his own without papa or Dollie interrupting., so we had a good catch up. 😂
He has been quite unwell, a barrage of tests he had on Friday have come back already and his GP wants to see him. I am quite concerned.

Today, I have a couple of easy tasks to do at church, then back to tackle the freezer and await my injections delivery.
I have been totally blindsided by the kindness of the new PP. Rather than nip his ear, I sent him a lengthy email of things which needed addressed and complaints from parishioners, with possible solutions Unfortunately, the miserliness and autonomy of the previous PP has caused so many problems.
Yesterday, I received a lovely reply, he had addressed all the issues and actioned my requests. (He said I was costing him a fortune!)

He was shocked at the autonomy of the previous PP and I have found myself in a very awkward position, when I have been asked what the situation was. I am reluctant to tell tales and feel disloyal. His response to that was, If you don't tell me, how things were, MD, I can't fix it!.
His last comment was that he was so grateful for me keeping things running smoothly, but was afraid of overtaxing me! I told him that I felt as if I was on holiday, he was so undemanding!

I want to say a very special thank you to the Gransnetter, who offered me a brand new sewing machine. To say, I was overwhelmed by her kindness was an understatement!
However, to my surprise, DH had noticed that I had a Janome one in my Amazon wish list ( I couldn't justify the expense) and when I got back from the shops, he had bought it for me! He is probably trying to make up for all the years of angst he has given me. 😉

For anyone, who is interested, there will be a Glesca Grannies meet up in December. I have conducted a poll on WhatsApp of proposed dates (Is n't technology wonderful ). There are so many of us, we can never find a date to suit all.

As we say in Glasgow GM, ^ Gaun yursel^, which basically means well done at tackling that company.

I am aware that there a few of our GM friends, who seem very low in spirit and am sending virtual hugs and praying things improve.💐

Have a good day all, whatever your plans.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Had to dash out with the black bin, completely forgot it last night.
Didn’t go to Music Club yesterday, just felt too tired and am continuing to rest today, apart from a tidy round. Keyhole surgery does mean a quicker recovery, but I’m still having to go day by day. I hate missing all my usual activities.

Thoughts to Kalu and all🌺

Marydoll Wed 06-Nov-24 09:03:22

How lovely to see you posting zkalu. I was thinking yesterday of messaging you about our meetup, but didn't want to pressure you.
Text me, I am always available for a chat, as you well know.💕

Morning from grey S Hampshire, not much to report as I’m keeping my cold to myself.
Yesterday a load of washing was done, no point in putting it outside, a Christmas present delivered, a tick off my list and our festive food delivery baggsied.
Must reschedule my hygienist, you’ve reminded me on here, thanks.
Kalu good to see you 🌹

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Last night it was like being in a war zone, I could not just hear the bangs but could feel them too.
I can empathise over the POA grandMattie, took me 11 months to get mine sorted and that was using the solicitor who had also rewritten my will.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon and take me shopping. It will be nice to chat, it is a week since I saw anyone.
Have a good day.

Good morning all .
Dh is off for his fishing day and I’m off to Egypt (virtual reality).

Meeting my two ‘old’ school pals at Stratford Olympic Park for coffee, then on to the VR and afterwards a relaxing lunch.
Should be fun!

Take care all

Good morning from a dull Glasgow!
I had a busy day yesterday as I was helping at a Guy Fawkes party in the church grounds. Our church is in a fantastic position on a hill overlooking much of the city so we had a nice sociable evening from a place of safety. Still upset that I didn’t get to toast a marshmallow though as I was too busy running back and forth with teapots! 😂
Off to get my hair done shortly.
Hope you all have your best day!
Kalu💐

Good morning from light grey windy Lancashire. I’ve put some washing out in the hope that it will at least lighten it. DD just rang to say they’d had the call!

Litterpicker Wed 06-Nov-24 10:00:37

Good morning from West Sussex. It’s grey here too looking through the window but I know it will be brighter outside at the allotment where I am headed shortly. My gentle weeding will not be on the scale of Karma’s ground clearance!

Well done with the book cull, Susan. I need to do one but I nearly always come back from the charity shop with a couple of replacements which after a few months have had companions join them and again there’s no room on the bookshelves 😂.

It’s lovely to hear from you, Kalu.

Late again!! Busy morning. Only grandchild is 10 today, just seems like yesterday she arrived. We’d given up on grandchildren so she’s very precious.
My darling sister has invited herself and husband for a couple of days. ( we haven’t seen them for 6 months). Cue frantic call to our lovely cleaner to see if she could come today instead of tomorrow, and she said yes. She’s so obliging.
I’ve booked a table at our local pub restaurant for tomorrow evening so no cooking for me.
I’ll go back and read your posts now. Just felt so happy I had to share.
Have a good day everyone.

Kalu I’ve been wondering how you are. Nice to see you posting. The paperwork is a terrible mountain to climb when, as you say, you least feel like doing it.
Glad you’ve got your garden to keep you occupied a bit.
I find i need to keep busy all the time. I’m unable to relax so have to keep on the go.
Thinking of you and also you NannyG4
