Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its wet mainly due to fog here in brackley , it looks like the grey cloudy conditions will be with us for awhile whilst the jet stream is above the UK.
Usual bus trip to Bicester , hopefully have a chat to those I know.
Health wise no change .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Thursday 7th November 2024
(52 Posts)Good morning from a cloudy Torbay with a chilly wind.
I’m planning on being out early to shop in Lidl. Traffic is bad around Torquay due to the main route along the seafront being closed for six weeks which leads to drivers searching out alternative routes around the rest of the town.
The good news is that DH is due to arrive today and is already en route to catch the local train to Paris. If all goes to plan, he should be here by early evening.
Have the best of days, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from a grey Bristol. The maximum today will be 13C which is only 2 deg higher than now!
Quiet day yesterday, spent sewing. I finished a runner, made an apron and read a lot.
Today, indoor tai chi, and dinner at DD’s. I have got them a pannetone.
I’m so pleased for you at the thoughtfulness and kindness of your newPP, MD. It makes such a difference, fgt, carry on your fleeting happiness, a pleasure to witness. Everyone else, keep the old chin up.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Best wishes to oldd, Ash. Enjoy your time together.
Good morning from s somerset with damp and dull weather all day but I love it
Yesterday I wound three cakes of yarn but then I got the allotment urge again. I am still doing heavy- duty clearing plus made three tip runs with my full capacious car boot. I am getting to know some very nice people on the site
I have a strimmer to assemble later plus a couple of sessions at the allotment today and some more tip runs
Have a good day
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
That’s beautiful GM!
I ordered a new pc yesterday so I’ll be collecting that later. Before then OH and I are going to look at cars for me! I have a few ideas - maybe the same as I have now or something else.
At some point I have the notes to type up from yesterday’s WI committee meeting. I have to say that I will not miss all the admin involved in being Secretary when I give up next year. I think eight years is long enough! My predecessor did it for 20 years!
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Malta where it is due to rain. 23° high, 14°C low. We had some much needed rain yesterday but not for long.
Had a surprise visit from DD3 and the boys yesterday. They were both sporting very short hair cuts which make them look more grown up somehow. I loved having them even though chaos reigns while they are here!
No plans for today. I will take it as it comes.
Wishing a good day to you all and safe travels to oldd.☀️
Good morning from a drizzly Cornwall. Now the huge Biffa lorry has collected last night's bottles from the pub bin over the road it's very still and quiet. Lovely.
To the library craft group yesterday where we were knitting bunting for a local theatre company. Four men turned up, three of whom could knit, the other happily learnt on the spot. It was good to see and reminded me that my dad could knit.
Then onwards to do the school run for my youngest grandchildren, after which the little lad had me driving an on-screen motorbike via Switch. I drove a motorbike for years and found all the virtual swerving and bouncing off walls very exciting. 😁
Today, tidying up my sewing space and preparing my art room for my daughter-in-law's macramé 'tutorial' tomorrow.
Good Morning: still desperately grey and gloomy......
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but there is no rain in the forecast today. No sun either. I had a frustrating day yesterday. I burned something I was cooking, because I took my eye off it, and had to throw it out; spent an unconscionable length of time on the phone trying to make a medical appointmenr, and then tried to renew my car insurance, having got them to knock over a hundred pounds off the silly quote they sent me, but for some reason my card number wouldn’t register with the machine at the other end either through the keypad or voice recognition. Apparently the fault is at their end so we are going to try again today! What happened to just putting a good old fashioned cheque in the post? They don’t do bank transfer either😤. Bloody technology!
Walking group this morning, and lunch with DD.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from Shropshire.Another dull day forecast.
Yesterday we got all we wanted to do in town done then drove to Chirk Castle for lunch but it was closed so went to a bistro in the town instead. The afternoon was spent reading and napping.
Today we will visit mum.
Safe travels to olddudders.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning all from a still grey North Leicestershire.
An early start as it is our monthly Memory Cafe this morning and DH has a drive. I helped on a zoom course last night until 8.30 so I will need to sit down this afternoon before Sainsbury's deliver.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 13°C.
Llfl, good luck! My son advised us the other day that we would need to buy new PCs when Windows 11 comes out. Our present ones won't support it. That will be an expensive business! I really need to tidy it up and delete files, before I get a big row! I always do. I collect files, just like I collect clothes!!
Fortunately, we can cut the cost, because DS will build them to our personal spec. However, I am dreading the whole Microsoft angst. My password never works and if I change it, it affects my Diocesan account!
I am up early, because BabyD is coming and she will be expecting her usual breakfast pancakes. She is so like her daddy, everything must be done at a certain time, in a certain way, her routine cannot change!
Also, we have the school run to do and Dollie, is apparently beside herself with excitement, dying to show off her wee cousin to her friends for the first time.
I'm quite excited too, because BabyD lives in another town, few people here have met her.
I shall be parading her round the playground! 😂 Before that, we hope to take her to the garden centre to see the fish tanks and Christmas decorations.
DH is reluctant, because aged two, Dollie ran away from him there, he is a good bit older and slower now!! He still talks about that experience! 😂
Wishing you a good day folks and so lovely to see Kalu posting yesterday. We just need Blossoming and our other missing posters back. 💐
Good morning everyone from Essex, grey and damp again. Had a disturbed night, possibly because it was quite warm out, also I couldn’t get my arthritic hip comfortable. Every time I woke up I thought of something else I needed to pack to take to DD1’s.
Yesterday I sorted out loads of old flower pots for recycling. Then kept busy tidying the house.
Today I’ll give it all a good clean, wash floors etc then take a load of stuff to DD1.
ash, I hope your DH has a good journey from France.
gm that’s beautiful, you are so clever. I wish I could make things, but have always been useless at sewing and knitting!
Have a good day everyone.
I meant to say, Ash, enjoy your time with *OldD.
Good morning from another grey and dismal land. When will we see the sun again?
Good morning all. It’s still dark outside, so far dry here in Glasgow and I have noticed the outside lights are not obeying my instructions! A niggly little nuisance, how difficult can it be to set a timer? Back to yet another instructions book.
What a lovely bunch of women you are to welcome me back with kind messages of support too. My heartfelt thank you for being there. It was greatly appreciated and meant a lot to me.
Although the mass of gloriously coloured autumn leaves are a pleasure to see it’s time to clear them up so part of my day will be spent with my latest gadget, a combined leaf blower/vacuum which should make this task easier. 🤞 Todays outing is a hairdressing appointment for a trim and blow dry and the inevitable blether which is very welcome, more so now.
Best wishes to all for an uplifting day, especially at this time of year and those with continual stress and worries to cope with, may your day be lighter.
Morning from grey S E Essex, the sky colour definitely effects my mood…
Cleaning fairies are here at 8.30am and I have overslept which is unheard of! Having had 8 hours sleep instead of my usual 4-5 I feel discombobulated.
MaryDoll enjoy your day with your wee girls 😘
Have a good day 🙋♀️
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and a mild dry day is forecast
Safe travels to your DH Ash hope everything runs to time and enjoy your time together
I’ve got the dental hygienist this morning and then seen as I’ll be in town I’ll have a browse around the shops and a coffee somewhere. Later we’re picking DGD up from school as she’s staying over tonight.
Enjoy your day with Babydoll, Marydoll - we always used to take our DGC to the fish tanks at the garden centre when they were little too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Morning Mick, morning All. Looks like another grey, Eeyore day for our corner of Somerset. I’m grateful it’s not too cold.
Chores accomplished yesterday morning it was off for a more or less painless steroid injection in a knee and confirmation my increasingly strangely shaped left hand is yet another gift from osteoarthritis. In between a chat with our development gardeners secured an offer to do some private work for us at a more than reasonable cost. Something we’d have done ourselves a while ago. Common sense has finally arrived, carrying heavy bags of slate and crawling around behind a large magnolia tree are better outsourced.
Quiet day pottering ahead. Mr C will iron the bed clothes, I’ll sort some batch cooking, not sure what else. Maybe a walk along the river. Concerning news has come about our friend living with dementia. She is reported to be deteriorating quickly, sleeping a lot. We went to infant school together, our long distance chats are sorely missed, we just ‘got’ each other, understanding what wasn’t being said. I’m so pleased to have been able to visit earlier in the year, upsetting though it was.
Wishing trouble free travels for your husband ash, you two must cover some miles in a year. One of those days greyd, hope today is less fraught.
Take care everyone. Have the best day you can.
Good morning from a grey damp West Kent. Our opticians visit yesterday bought the news that I am ready to have my cataracts done. I feel relieved to have got to this point as I really need to keep driving if I can. DH and I do a lot of sharing for longer journeys now
Today is art group this morning and then meeting DD2 and taking her for lunch, possibly to local garden that has a very nice cafe.
Best wishes to all
Good morning from dry South Lanarkshire.
Yesterday I pootled around all day. I seemed to be busy, don’t ask me what I actually did, I’ve no idea.
Today I’ll be more organised , I need to prepare food for taking to DS’s tomorrow or I’ll have to cook when I’m there and I can’t get used to their hob and never seem to manage to switch on the oven. It really can’t be that difficult but for some reason the instructions don’t stay in my head and they must think I’m going doolally.
Yarn group this evening, we’ll put out poppies round the town but our largest piece, which is crocheted poppies sewn on to camouflage netting to make a huge curtain, is in need of repair which we didn’t manage to get done in time so it won't be put out this year.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all from a very dreary Wiltshire. The 7th day running without a glimmer of sun and forecast shows little change.
My dahlias are still in full bloom which is extraordinary going into the second week of November. They were very much taller in August though.
DGD3 was delighted to see our hedgehogs come in for food quite early yesterday evening. We have a house for the larger one but the smaller one has only been around for the last 3 weeks and we don’t know where it goes. I suppose I’ll have to get another house. They feed side by side quite happily.
So nice to see Kalu posting. Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning from full grey Cambridgeshire. Today I’m returning to my Pilates class after a four week break. Then off to DD2 to help prepare for my brother in law painting the kitchen, lounge and hall stairs and landing this weekend for her whilst she is away on a girls weekend. (DH is relieved he has got out of this job)
I will get a day out with my sister whilst he is painting. I don’t see her as much as she still has a very demanding job and works a lot of weekends.
Wishing a happy trouble free day to all
