Good morning from Bristol. We are expecting less gloomy weather, but colder. Mind you, I hate to wear my “full winter” coat yesterday as I as so cold!
I had a full on day, first with my Spanish class with the long walk there.
When I got home, I rushed to have lunch as my kind neighbour was taking me to Lidl to get some plants.
We were both disappointed as there was not a plant (or flower) in sight. Nor were there any of my favourite sun dried tomatoes. I got some bits and bobs. Apparently, the plants are “at bigger shops”. That one was pretty big already.
When I came back, I made some chocolate biscuits and peanut butter cookies (using my famous 3 ingredient recipe). It came to some 4 dozen biscuits of each. Yes, I know that’s a lot, but I made a lot so as to have some for this new FAB cafe that I’m hosting on Wednesday.
I fell into my chair a did nothing for the rest of the day.
Today, I’m serving coffee in church - hence the baking, then vegetating for the rest of the day.
My love to those in difficulties or unhappy. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Up early again! We changed the clocks two weeks ago but my bodyclock hasn't changed.
Still dark here up in Lancashire. Might go to the garden centre. It's early yet but their Christmas display is up. They have reindeer which looked amazingly realistic. I've already sampled some of their Christmas goodies and want to go back for more before they sell out.

Good morning from s somerset, dull weather again

I am having a day off today with dds and the teenage female dgc, we are all meeting up today for a glass modelling course.

My hands need a rest and so does the rest of me, I made more good progress yesterday but will be swinging the heavy mattock again tomorrow. I was cold prior to going to the allotment yesterday and suddenly realised that I don`t have a suitable jacket, only my old fleece. I had to turn to amazon again and have ordered a suitable garment. I am hoping that this is the last of my unexpected spending

Have a good day

Good morning everyone, the weather here on the east coast of Fife is indeed very dark and gloomy. I’ve once again had the lurgy and couldn’t get to my iPad to post any news thankfully I feel much better today therefore I’ll be up for a full English mmmmm delicious. That’s the wee pooch up too she’s a wee star and I love her to bits
Enjoy your day my friends 💖

Greyduster Sat 09-Nov-24 06:26:20

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold, dark South Yorkshire. The sun is not expected to put in an appearance and I’m full of cold again. Got away lightly at the dentist yesterday, but I get the feeling my teeth are living on borrowed time😁! A food shop sometime today. DS is coming down this evening and staying over. There’s an early kick off for our city’s derby match tomorrow. He tells me he is now on a ‘no carb’ diet so it looks like steak and salad for dinner and fruit for pudding. Hmm!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Shropshire.A dull day forecast with the promise of sun later.

A gentle day pottering until school pick up.The children are still asleep so all quiet at the moment. We will go into town this morning then DGD wants to do some sewing.

Thoughts to all struggling💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Bellasnana Sat 09-Nov-24 06:39:02

Good morning from Malta where it is dry at the moment but more rain is forecast.

Had another visit from the boys yesterday, it seems rainy days are ‘visit Nana’ days! They were full of mischief and giggles, bless them. They really lift my rather sagging spirits.

Also had a long FaceTime chat with DD3 in Florida. She was posting a parcel of Christmas gifts for the boys who she has yet to meet. I wish she would bring DGD over, I miss them both so much but I’m not inclined to visit them as a) it’s such a long and expensive haul and b) I do not care for her latest husband.

Your little dog looks so sweet Bonnybanko. Sorry you haven’t been well again. Enjoy your breakfast!😋

Get well soon Greyduster, colds can really make you feel miserable. 💐

Thanks for the advice FGT.🤗

Hope a good day is had by all.☀️

Good morning from yet another dull looking day in Torbay.

What a cute pooch, Bonnybanko!

I'm in awe of the energy levels of other grans with their baking and gardening achievements! Yesterday, we were both fairly zonked - olddudders from travelling, me from all the preparations I had made for his arrival, alongside rehearsals, etc. A quiet day and early night with eight hours of restful sleep has been restorative!

There’s the monthly coffee morning at our church this morning which we hope to attend.

Thinking of those who are struggling with pain or other problems. Have as good a weekend as you can. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a dark Oxfordshire, it was very cold last evening so I’m not sure what the weather will be, Alexa didn’t warn me about rain so we will see.

MissOops is moving today, MrOops will go over soon to help with the removals and the ‘men’, I will dog sit, literally as I’m still a bit wobbly from my Vertigo episode, it takes so long to recover from what was only a 5 minute bout of dizziness and sickness. Oh well, I’m getting better but it seems so blasted slow when there is so much that I could be doing to help our daughter.

There are fireworks again tonight, a very large display at the local airfield so I expect that MrOops will be out in the car with the dog for the duration, I will stay here and ring him when they stop, if they go on for too long, he will take the dog to her new home a day early.

Have a good weekend everyone, it’s so good to read about your ‘doings’

Hugs for those who are under stress or illness.

Good morning all - just docking at Funchal where it's dry and dark. Haven't been able to get Gransnet on ship's wifi so know nothing of your news...hope all is well, will try and catch up today on my mobile smile

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 09-Nov-24 07:06:32

Good morning everyone from Málaga. I think we may be in line for some sunshine. We have a mackerel sky but tinged with a beautiful rosy pink hue and looking out of the front door there are no clouds hovering on the mountain tops this morning. A good sign.

We have no plans. I will phone both of our girls today for a catch up and it’s my turn to ring my stepfather. He is worrying because his brother who is 99 has been admitted to hospital with an infection. I’m feeling a bit unsettled this morning. Hopefully it will pass if I don’t dwell on things. Getting out for a stroll will do me good I think.

Georgesgran Sat 09-Nov-24 07:08:24

Good morning from Durham. It’s dark outside, but I think another still, dry day forecast.

Thank you for your good wishes for my hospital appointment yesterday. Into the unknown and I was incredibly nervous. Following a barrage of tests, some failed, I’m to be referred to a Consultant. All a bit up in the air regarding treatment - not life threatening, but maybe life changing. I found it all quite difficult - I’ve always been ‘the nurse’ never ‘the patient’.

Today I’m going to watch DGS2 at football - he’s only 3, so a lot of mucking about. I’ve promised him a pancake breakfast afterwards. DD1 wants to take DGS1 to see the new Paddington film and has invited me along to an afternoon showing near them. At this rate, I’ll probably be out all day.

Best wishes to all. X

Greyduster Sat 09-Nov-24 07:21:20

Georgesgran they’re like iron filings round a magnet at that age😁! Enjoy the match!

Grandmabatty Sat 09-Nov-24 07:22:11

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Oops I hope the move goes well. Pantglas I hope you are enjoying your holiday.
Yesterday was a reasonable day. I decided to do the food shopping because I was nearly out of milk and bread. I was heading round to the middle aisle in Aldi when I bumped into dd and dgs2. He wanted to know if he would get soup later. That boy is always thinking of his tummy! Both boys have taken a stretch recently. The soup was ready and waiting for him after playgroup. Dd and I had a nice chat. Apparently dgs1 is feeling left out because he doesn't get to come to grandma's after school on a Friday despite coming on Monday and Tuesday. He was also hinting to mum he wants to come for a sleepover. I'll have to see what I can do. I got a few social events organised yesterday too and contacted some pals for a chat.
Today I'm meeting up with a friend for breakfast at the garden centre. I want to buy a Christmas tree in a pot so I might do that today. Later I'll go to Tesco to get bits and pieces for making Christmas puddings. I need a new blender too. In between I'll get the housework and washing done. Salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

Georgesgran Sat 09-Nov-24 07:22:42

That’s a good description Greyduster. X

GrannyGravy13 Sat 09-Nov-24 07:23:36

Morning all, I need to go down the road to the butchers, and buy some flowers for the house, that’s about all I have planned.

🙋‍♀️

GrannyIvy Sat 09-Nov-24 07:33:57

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. It is dry and chilly. Today I’m off to the garden centre with my sister whilst her husband is busy painting DD2’s house. How he is managing to paint her lounge, kitchen and hall stairs and landing in three days is amazing. It would take DH and myself three weeks or longer. We have two bedrooms that need a freshen up but keep putting it off. DH wants to do his own decorating but then never does it….

Not a lot else happening here apart from the rugby and Strictly dancing later plus steak and chips

Hope everyone has a good Saturday

ginny Sat 09-Nov-24 07:41:31

Good morning from M.Bucks. Haven’t looked outside yet so no weather report. Feeling a little I refreshed after a disturbed night with some very strange dreams.

We have a little bit of food shopping to do but before that we are going to visit a local art exhibition. We shall have coffee there.

This afternoon DH and I will mix the Christmas pudding and then I shall settle down to some art or craft work. It’s not really work though, it’s so enjoyable.

Thinking of those with. troubles or illness and wishing a good day for all.

NannyJan53 Sat 09-Nov-24 07:46:12

Good morning from yet another dull and grey Black Country.

Busy day yesterday. Taking Mum to the Memory cafe, home for a quick lunch before someone from the Care company came to do a initial visit. Then took Mum to Lidl to stock up.

MrJ went to Doctors Thursday as his big toe was really hurting. Turns out it is Gout! I had been pushing him to go to see a Doctor for quite a while, he only agreed to go when it was really affecting how he walked. Why don't they listen smile He didn't even feel like eating last night, which is unusual. So he misses his bike ride today with his group, as they were having their annual 'Sausage Sizzle'

No real plans today, housework and pottering.

Georgesgran I must have missed what your tests were for.
Hope all goes well when you see a Consultant. flowers

GrannySomerset Sat 09-Nov-24 07:50:41

Local coffee morning and the arrival of DS later in the day so all good after workmen in the loft most of yesterday. Am devoutly hoping that I have finished spending on the house. We are sad locally as one neighbour died on Thursday and another moved into the local hospice yesterday, neither unexpected but both deaths will diminish our little community. November at its most sombre this weekend.

monk08 Sat 09-Nov-24 08:00:01

Good morning all from another dull day in the Black country, FGT2 I'm envious of your skys description just to see a bit of blue here would be lovely.
Karma glass modelling sounds interesting you certainly have earned a break from all you've achieved at the allotment.
I've a trip into town to the bank and may see if I can find some new walking boots.
Over the club later catch up with friends.
Well usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Have a great day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

brook2704 Sat 09-Nov-24 08:00:33

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks like a bright sunny start to the day. The last couple of days have been really gorgeous for November, but I know it can’t last
Good to hear from you Pantglas hope the cruise is going well and you’re enjoying every minute 🚢
No definite plans for today except a walk somewhere this morning, a coffee and a bit of food shopping.
Hope the move goes well Oops
Grannysomerset 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a damp NE.
DS is taking GD to school for a rehearsal and will come here until it is time to collect her.
Had a lovely lunch with friend yesterday and a catch up. We also booked for our December meal to ensure we get a table.
Have a good weekend.

RosesandLilac Sat 09-Nov-24 08:03:02

Good morning, it’s another damp, dull start to what seems another dismal weather day here in south Glos.
I spent some time yesterday starting the bias binding border of a Somerset square that I made a number of years ago, it’s been in the back of the cupboard taunting me to get on with it!
I’m hand sewing the border because I need to focus on the corners, having never tried it before. Hopefully it won’t look too bad 😊
So, more of that today after I walk the dog, along with finishing DGC2’s socks - I’m very annoyed that the pair I sent by first class post to his older brother never arrived 😡, Royal Mail collected the package from the house and I have a receipt. Apparently that doesn’t mean anything, let alone that they’ll get to the destination. Not happy but obviously I will make him another pair.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹
