Bingo Anyone?

It’s known as a dobber in our local bingo hall. Actually made me laugh

I’ve only ever played bingo once and my friend and I were asked to leave as we made too much noise

I loved the old bingo days during the teddy boy days.
I was brought up by the coast so used to travel down to the town where, along the coast, were a lot of bingo stalls. If one won the prices weren’t that bad

I've only played Bingo once, a sort of seaside version in Margate. I was spectacularly bad at it as I found the players more interesting than the game. The person next to me pointed out that my numbers had won a prize. It was a plastic teapot.

When I retired I vowed never to play bingo or bowls. And I haven’t.

Bingo has never attracted me, but I have a friend who plays twice or three times a week and spends more money than she can comfortably afford, then complains bitterly that she is hard up!

And she isn't alone, as the Bingo halls are full, according both to her and her nephew who also plays regularly.

I too hate Bingo but love Scrabble.
I play it online every day.

I haven’t been since well before Covid but my friend keeps asking so we may go soon.

Our WI is having a fund raiser in January and they need a Bingo Caller. I heard myself volunteering !😳😀

Having said that I don’t bake, knit or make jam, so I had got no excuse for not volunteering.

When I was young bingo was held weekly at the town hall. If you won a line you got a ten shilling note. If you won a full house it was a pound note. But the fun bit was that the notes were inside balloons which you had to pop to get your money. Most winners sat on them causing much hilarity. I loved it.

Since having moved, 14 years ago I have never managed to find a bingo session being promoted locally! However, I consider I am well educated and enjoyed the fun of it and I am not a snob. However it did land me a prize of £100,000 once thank you! 🤩

As a family we play on holiday, which gives some interesting variations for the numbers!
One time in Gran Canaria the caller said, "clickety," which no-one could get.
"You know," she said, "clickety-click is 66, so one clickety is 6."
Obvious really!

My granddaughter loves playing.
I play it at home with my minded children, anything that helps them understand numbers is good.
