I was always grateful for the one girl who was less desirable in a sports team than I was. I was never last to be chosen, just second to last!

When I was young I went to a celebration of ‘Girl’ magazine in Cardiff. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a similar GN thing. Meet everyone. …butI suppose that would negate the privacy and anonymity which GN relies on.Pity really as I have a mental picture of everyone. It would be interesting to see how near they were to reality.

I've met many celebrities, including David Attenborough, Michael Caine, Tom Jone and best of all the all time 'love of my life' George Harrison. Many more. Some at book signings some not. My starstruck days have gone. The only exception might be Paul McCartney. I've seen him a few times but never to talk to. Not that I talked to George. He talked, I gawped.

That’s lovely to hear, I miss her comments, even though I disagreed with many haha.

Please pass on my very best, she reminded me so much of my own late mother, who didn’t “suffer fools gladly” and spoke bluntly but wisely.

I think for famous people, Jane Goodall for her amazing lifetime of zoology and anthropology, and maybe Julia Louis Dreyfuss, since she has a bubbly and joking personality. I sense she would be fun at a dinner party.
