Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I’m meeting my friend who can be difficult in restaurants for lunch today. We haven’t met up for a while and it will be good to see her.
OH and I bought lots of spring bulbs yesterday which our gardener will plant for us on Monday.
Commiserations and thoughts of all those grans with difficulties.
Have a good day.

Good Morning Saturday 16th November 2024
(42 Posts)Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but yesterday turned out to be a decent day. The huge hideous cat who keeps fouling my front lawn is back in business. I hoped I had seen the last of it. It’s very depressing having to clean up after it. Nothing much planned for today except food shopping. May try and get a walk in later.
Have the best day you can folks.
karmalady Liverpool is a unique place with unique people! I love the accent. When I lived there people said I sounded 'posh', which I certainly don't! 😂
Good morning from south Glos, it’s chilly and dry here.
Today I have a Zoom art workshop all day, I haven’t done any painting for months so should be interesting and fun!
I will walk the dog first thing then get everything set up ready.
Sending hugs to everyone who needs one 🌹
Good morning, it’s still dark but Alexa says it will rain this afternoon, when I open the curtains I will expect sunshine, I will probably be disappointed.
ENT didn’t really help, I need an MRI and a Balance Test to see if they can show up any problems, apparently everything I was told by the Nurse Practitioner is to be ignored! Maybe I should have seen my GP? The choice would have been good.
There is a possibility that it’s ‘just one of those things’ , which is a bit scary.
Anyway, I’m warm and safe so I can’t complain, others have far worse problems.
Granmattie and Karma 2 of the hardest working Grans, who certainly put me to shame!
Hope everyone has a good day, despite aches, pains and stress.
Mizuna. Liverpool. I am from there, never lost my roots nor my accent nor the humour. I met a Liverpudlian on site yesterday and immediately there is a connection and accents become stronger
Morning Mick, morning All from a dark and damp looking corner of Somerset.
Quite a sad TaiChi group yesterday. Only one more session with our group leader to go. She will be missed. We’ve a card for her and there will be flowers at the last session.
Off to see family this afternoon. I’m quite excited to see them all together. It’s been a long while since our son’s working pattern has allowed him to be home at the weekend without work responsibilities.
This maturity lark does indeed bring challenges grandmattie but goodness, you do achieve a lot. Please don’t think otherwise.
With thoughts to all managing health or other worries. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Good morning from s somerset, dull skies today with rain this afternoon
GM
keeping busy helps, you and I know that, I hope we retain the ability as we age
It was utterly glorious sun yesterday, several people on the plots, chatty and friendly, very uplifting to the spirit and a new lease of life for me
I am down to the last two areas, I will do the small one this morning. Old overgrown herbs in a tumbledown rotten cold frame. Then recycling and back home. I feel the vibes and energy from the original owner, who put in so much work at the start.
Have a good day
Good morning from a cloudy Torbay with sunshine forecast.
I hope you are able to take things easy for a day or two to give your injection the best chance of working, Susan56.
The funeral was well attended but long as it included Holy Communion. I didn’t attend the wake as I’m struggling with the after effects from my Covid vaccination on Thursday.
A domestic day beckons with Front of House duties tonight for the final performance of Sheila's Island which has been well received by audiences.
A good weekend to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from a dry, overcast Cornwall. Was waiting to see my doctor yesterday when in walked my son, his ex and their son! The lad has something which needs a few tests. I passed a macramé book over to my daughter-in-law, having just collected it from the library, so that was handy. Our workshop keeps being delayed but we'll get there one day.
Excellent appointment with my doctor, who has arranged for a medication to be collected in Boots in Liverpool city centre, at my request. He sorted my asthma inhaler and generally gave me an overhaul.
Today my granddaughter is coming round after her riding lesson. We may do some woodwork if she fancies that. She's handy with a hammer and saw. I'll pop two doors down and get her a pasty for lunch.
Thank you for kind comments regarding my son-in-law yesterday. Fortunately I'm not a worrier and am looking forward to evaluating the situation when I get there on Monday and dishing out the tlc.
grandMattie 💐
Bellasnanna, I try to keep busy. Not having transport and being very cowardly re. new situations, etc., I try to be helpful. It’s the only thing left to me until total decrepitude descends. (I hate being old…)
Redcar I hope your recovery is going well💐
Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 22°C and a low of 12°C.
I didn’t manage to post yesterday due to being rendered almost comatose by the ‘mild tranquilliser’ prescribed by my doctor to help me sleep. I only took half a tablet last night and seem to be more awake today.
I was sorry to read so many sad posts of tragic and sudden losses of friends and neighbours. Life is cruel at times.
grandMattie nobody could put you to shame! You cram so much into your days most of us can only look on in awe! I find just existing is rather a struggle and if I get anything useful done that’s a bonus.😄
No plans today other than a walk to my corner shop for milk, then there is tennis to watch later so I’m happy.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast.
I got everything on my to do list done yesterday then settled down to read and promptly fell asleep.
Today I have an appointment at radiology for a guided injection in my shoulder. We had already said we would have H here for a sleepover today as DGD is having a sleepover for her 9th birthday party so DH will be looking after H.
grandMattie your church is so lucky to have you.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from a dry Bristol. It hasn’t rained for some time now - extraordinary!
I had a good Spanish class yesterday, although one of the students complained that we spent too much time chatting. Another one keeps trying to get exact, perfect translations - an impossible task!
Quiet afternoon baking. I made some lemon drizzle and coffee/walnut cup cakes for the church thing this morning.
I’m very busy today but nothing as productive as karma. She puts me to shame!
I’m doing my stint cleaning the church, immediately after, I’m serving coffee during which there’ll be the craft and cake sale for MSF. I’ve made a few things and giving some preserves. I hope they make lots of money as it’s a very deserving charity.
In the evening I’m going to a Vivaldi concert in the nearby Methodist church. Phew!
I hope you all manage to cope with your sadness and difficulties. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
