Good morning from a dry Bristol. It hasn’t rained for some time now - extraordinary!
I had a good Spanish class yesterday, although one of the students complained that we spent too much time chatting. Another one keeps trying to get exact, perfect translations - an impossible task!
Quiet afternoon baking. I made some lemon drizzle and coffee/walnut cup cakes for the church thing this morning.
I’m very busy today but nothing as productive as karma. She puts me to shame!
I’m doing my stint cleaning the church, immediately after, I’m serving coffee during which there’ll be the craft and cake sale for MSF. I’ve made a few things and giving some preserves. I hope they make lots of money as it’s a very deserving charity.
In the evening I’m going to a Vivaldi concert in the nearby Methodist church. Phew!
I hope you all manage to cope with your sadness and difficulties. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast.

I got everything on my to do list done yesterday then settled down to read and promptly fell asleep.

Today I have an appointment at radiology for a guided injection in my shoulder. We had already said we would have H here for a sleepover today as DGD is having a sleepover for her 9th birthday party so DH will be looking after H.

grandMattie your church is so lucky to have you.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 22°C and a low of 12°C.

I didn’t manage to post yesterday due to being rendered almost comatose by the ‘mild tranquilliser’ prescribed by my doctor to help me sleep. I only took half a tablet last night and seem to be more awake today.

I was sorry to read so many sad posts of tragic and sudden losses of friends and neighbours. Life is cruel at times.

grandMattie nobody could put you to shame! You cram so much into your days most of us can only look on in awe! I find just existing is rather a struggle and if I get anything useful done that’s a bonus.😄

No plans today other than a walk to my corner shop for milk, then there is tennis to watch later so I’m happy.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Susan56 Sat 16-Nov-24 06:21:17

Redcar I hope your recovery is going well💐

grandMattie Sat 16-Nov-24 06:29:47

Bellasnanna, I try to keep busy. Not having transport and being very cowardly re. new situations, etc., I try to be helpful. It’s the only thing left to me until total decrepitude descends. (I hate being old…)

Good morning from a dry, overcast Cornwall. Was waiting to see my doctor yesterday when in walked my son, his ex and their son! The lad has something which needs a few tests. I passed a macramé book over to my daughter-in-law, having just collected it from the library, so that was handy. Our workshop keeps being delayed but we'll get there one day.

Excellent appointment with my doctor, who has arranged for a medication to be collected in Boots in Liverpool city centre, at my request. He sorted my asthma inhaler and generally gave me an overhaul.

Today my granddaughter is coming round after her riding lesson. We may do some woodwork if she fancies that. She's handy with a hammer and saw. I'll pop two doors down and get her a pasty for lunch.

Thank you for kind comments regarding my son-in-law yesterday. Fortunately I'm not a worrier and am looking forward to evaluating the situation when I get there on Monday and dishing out the tlc.

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay with sunshine forecast.

I hope you are able to take things easy for a day or two to give your injection the best chance of working, Susan56.

The funeral was well attended but long as it included Holy Communion. I didn’t attend the wake as I’m struggling with the after effects from my Covid vaccination on Thursday.

A domestic day beckons with Front of House duties tonight for the final performance of Sheila's Island which has been well received by audiences.

A good weekend to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, dull skies today with rain this afternoon

GM flowers keeping busy helps, you and I know that, I hope we retain the ability as we age

It was utterly glorious sun yesterday, several people on the plots, chatty and friendly, very uplifting to the spirit and a new lease of life for me

I am down to the last two areas, I will do the small one this morning. Old overgrown herbs in a tumbledown rotten cold frame. Then recycling and back home. I feel the vibes and energy from the original owner, who put in so much work at the start.

Have a good day

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark and damp looking corner of Somerset.

Quite a sad TaiChi group yesterday. Only one more session with our group leader to go. She will be missed. We’ve a card for her and there will be flowers at the last session.

Off to see family this afternoon. I’m quite excited to see them all together. It’s been a long while since our son’s working pattern has allowed him to be home at the weekend without work responsibilities.

This maturity lark does indeed bring challenges grandmattie but goodness, you do achieve a lot. Please don’t think otherwise.

With thoughts to all managing health or other worries. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

karmalady Sat 16-Nov-24 07:03:10

Mizuna. Liverpool. I am from there, never lost my roots nor my accent nor the humour. I met a Liverpudlian on site yesterday and immediately there is a connection and accents become stronger

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 16-Nov-24 07:04:09

Good morning, it’s still dark but Alexa says it will rain this afternoon, when I open the curtains I will expect sunshine, I will probably be disappointed.

ENT didn’t really help, I need an MRI and a Balance Test to see if they can show up any problems, apparently everything I was told by the Nurse Practitioner is to be ignored! Maybe I should have seen my GP? The choice would have been good.
There is a possibility that it’s ‘just one of those things’ , which is a bit scary.

Anyway, I’m warm and safe so I can’t complain, others have far worse problems.

Granmattie and Karma 2 of the hardest working Grans, who certainly put me to shame!

Hope everyone has a good day, despite aches, pains and stress.

RosesandLilac Sat 16-Nov-24 07:10:46

Good morning from south Glos, it’s chilly and dry here.
Today I have a Zoom art workshop all day, I haven’t done any painting for months so should be interesting and fun!
I will walk the dog first thing then get everything set up ready.
Sending hugs to everyone who needs one 🌹

Mizuna Sat 16-Nov-24 07:13:46

karmalady Liverpool is a unique place with unique people! I love the accent. When I lived there people said I sounded 'posh', which I certainly don't! 😂

Greyduster Sat 16-Nov-24 07:23:40

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but yesterday turned out to be a decent day. The huge hideous cat who keeps fouling my front lawn is back in business. I hoped I had seen the last of it. It’s very depressing having to clean up after it. Nothing much planned for today except food shopping. May try and get a walk in later.
Have the best day you can folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 16-Nov-24 07:31:52

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I’m meeting my friend who can be difficult in restaurants for lunch today. We haven’t met up for a while and it will be good to see her.

OH and I bought lots of spring bulbs yesterday which our gardener will plant for us on Monday.

Commiserations and thoughts of all those grans with difficulties.

Have a good day.

Grandmabatty Sat 16-Nov-24 07:34:47

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and dry at the moment. GrandMattie I feel very lazy compared to you and Karma! Susan I hope the injection gives you some relief.
Yesterday dd popped in with dgs2 after playgroup as usual on a Friday. He had his usual bowl of soup and chatted away. I emailed the lawyer to see how things were going and she contacted me to say I need to go and sign a declaration so that'll be a job for Monday morning. I've ordered the last of dgs2's birthday present and I'll pick that up this morning.
Today an Aldi visit then a trip to the retail park then home to catch up on housework. Have a good day all

luluaugust Sat 16-Nov-24 07:35:59

Good morning from W Kent where the sky is grey with pink highlights
Feeling a lot better and only one coughing session in the night. Ironing and card writing combined with Strictly and a curry.
Best wishes to all

Marydoll Sat 16-Nov-24 07:46:29

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

A worrying text from SiL yesterday, who had a call from his surgery, saying his GP wanted to see him, after having bloods taken earlier in the week. He has health anxiety, which doesn't help the situation.

It is good to read of all the busyness here. I am quite envious of your prowess and stamina.

Today I was supposed to attend a Safeguarding Conference, with an ex school friend at Strathclyde University, but am now doing it by Zoom. I could not physically manage the journey and would have been coughing all the way through it.

Susan is someone driving you to your appointment?
In the past, I have been advised not to move the joint immediately after any steroid injections.

Best wishes and hugs for all who are struggling.

Redcar Sat 16-Nov-24 07:48:43

Good morning everyone from a bright Essex. I’m still in bed after another frustrating night trying to sleep. The compression socks really irritate my legs, but I’m too worried about a dvt to stop wearing them so soon after the operation!
susan thank you for your good wishes, I’m recovering well I think, but impatient to be able to do more. I’ll take it slowly and curb the impatience.
karma I bet the other plot holders are pleased that you are tackling the overgrown bits of your plot!
Nothing planned for today, but Saturdays are busy for the family, with dance and drama classes for one DGD, and swimming and gymnastics for the other one. Hope to see my other DD who lives nearby.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 16-Nov-24 07:51:02

Morning all from a brightening S Hants, gMattie don’t you dare belittle your hard work and thoughtfulness!
Susan fingers crossed that injection does the job.
We need rain here, putting some plants in a few days ago they needed a good watering.
My friend’s allotment I help with had loads of matting which the weeds had grown through karmalady, including mares tail, that was a few years ago, it’s lovely now.
No massive plans today, I’ll go for a walk and plant tulips.

Good morning all and it’s a grey day here in Essex.

Not much doing today. Read the paper, finish my book club book and maybe watch a film.

DS1 is going to Twickenham, so won’t be taking Dh to footie.😥. He might go on his own.🤞.

We had a nice catch-up with our Friday pals. Dh gathered the empty glasses together on a tray , set off for the bar and then a loud crash. 😬🙄. The staff in the pub/restaurant came running - a lovely bunch, kind and understanding.

How did the roof covering go Karma?
That must have been a strong tranquilliser Bellasnanna. 😴😵‍💫. Stick to half the dose!
Have a lovely weekend with your pals Liberty.

Take care all 🌻🍁

kittylester Sat 16-Nov-24 08:06:39

Good morning all from a still grey North Leicestershire.

DH is off to the gym first thing and I am planning on making a cheese cake. After lunch we are going to a local independent brewery to collect some Christmas presents. And supplies!!

Have the best day possible, everyone

brook2704 Sat 16-Nov-24 08:10:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but dry with rain forecast for later
Goodness gMattie you and karma are both so busy doing things you enjoy, such an inspiration to others
DH and I are going for a walk this morning, just by the river in town and we’ll call into one of the riverside hotels for a coffee. After that we’ll do a bit of shopping and maybe call into DD2s if she’s in.
Hope your SiL is ok marydoll and soon gets his appointment to discuss with the GP
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
