Good morning everyone from a sunny Essex. No idea how cold it is as I’m still in bed. I had such a good sleep last night - 10 hours in total (with a couple of bathroom visits). Waking for dear son in law to give me my daily injection then I’ll get up and face the day.
Another busy day here, riding lesson for one DGD, swimming for the other one. Their mum will be busy making an angel’s dress for the 9 year old’s Christmas play! The 9 year old has very particular ideas of what she wants. I just look on, full of admiration for my DD who is very creative and talented! Where did that come from?
Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning from a damp S Hants, must’ve had rain overnight, grey now.
We’ve decided the grass will be left now until Spring monk it’s too damp and will rip.
MrJ linesman at grandsons football later, I need to nip to M&S Foodhall and return some earrings, a ‘not right’ Christmas present. My jumpers are in a jumble so need tidying up, thermals are poised ready for next week, even down here.
Safe travels mizuna and others away.

A grey and empty day ahead so much reading, I think. No local church service so no human contact either, but weekends are always rather lonely when you live alone. Think I have a bad case of Novemberitis! Good to read of much activity elsewhere

Good morning from a damp hillside in south Glos. I slept badly 🙄 so struggling to get my brain in gear.
I spent all day yesterday enjoying a Zoom art workshop, such a lovely tutor who really inspires me. I’ve booked more sessions with her for the new year and spring.
I have a sizeable pile of ironing to tackle once I get my body and brain cooperating, I’m hoping a mug of coffee will help!
I want to sort out my art stash this morning, I will donate anything I won’t use to the village school. Then hopefully I will finish DGC1’s socks, ready for posting tomorrow or Tuesday.
I hope you all have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle where grey clouds are steadily building. At dawn, the sky was beautiful, pale blue with lot of little pearly pink clouds. All gone now.

Yesterday I drove out to the garden centre in search of bird food, which I bought but naturally also came out with unintended plants...for indoors though. I now have a lovely pink poinsettia and a two-tone cyclamen, purple and off-white, most unusual. Then home to a long phone chat with my sister.

Today I'll be out for a walk at some point this morning unless the weather deteriorates rapidly, then it's a day in front of the Mac and a lot of reading...papers, magazines, books.

I hope you all have a good day with all the poorlies on the mend.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It looks like a sunny mild day, so much for the forecast of wind and snow.
I feel much better but drained after the horrible cold so I may just take it easy today.

I had an unexpected visit from my former lodgers who now have 3 DC under 5 and live in Fife. It bucked
me up no end to see them. The DC played happily with my box of toys Fisher Price etc once I had removed a knitting needle from the 2 yr old.
The Dad made us all a cuppa in my kitchen and then we talked houses,
he's a builder when I showed them my plans to build my own retirement house. They both loved the idea!

The Christmas fair season is upon us I see!

Have a great Sunday everyone, whatever you do. Good luck to the boy wonder GFT! ⚽️

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we have a touch of frost.

We had a toddle around our local shops yesterday, I do like to buy from the butcher and the baker. I also bought a gift voucher from the Italian restaurant as a wedding gift for my neighbours. They’ve lived next door for six years so I wouldn’t think they’d need ‘things’.

Mass this morning then our yarn group are supposed to be putting up our crocheted tree but we’re having trouble getting permission this year so I’m not sure if it will happen today.

DH is in charge of food, I think a beef casserole will be the result.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Granny Somerset a hug to you from another who rarely interacts with anyone at the weekend.

Annypop Sun 17-Nov-24 09:22:21

jaxjacky, we have a beach several miles away that is very popular for seaglass collectors, the same beach DH likes to go beachcombing for driftwood ( he enjoys crafting models from it). Sunderland, further up the coast had numerous glass making factories in the past and Seaham beach is a haven for its historic waste.

Good morning from a sunny (for now) Black Country.

MrJ is on a bike ride as he has had to give it a miss for a while whilst his big toe was still hurting.

I will just potter around, and a walk into town for bits and bobs.

Roast lamb for dinner tonight, a rare treat.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Hello everyone- I'm 4hrs behind you arriving at Guadeloupe and it's part of France so covered by Roaming...don't really understand why Saga didn't like GNet!😣
Enjoyed Welcome to Caribbean Party last night with steel band and cocktails 🍸- lishus!
Haven't a hope on catching up with wots occurred in my absence but hope you're all as well as can be x

Annypops, if that is the place with Pugin windows and carvings ins, then I’m ashamed to admit I’ve never visited it even though it’s less than 30 minutes from me. Seaham has that wonderful Tommy figure. The Co Durham coast is so beautiful now compared to just 50 years ago.
Wishing everyone a stress free Sunday.

Good morning Mick and all from 8°C Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice day with Dsister from London yesterday. Visit to local Christmas fair and lunch in town. I’m back to nearly normal eating and enjoyed a mushroom omelette. My stamina not yet back to formerly so rather tired after rambling about.
Stayed in the evening and just had soup etc.

Watched corny Noel Coward film, This Happy Breed, pure propaganda.
Off to nice farm shop in the country soon.
Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning from mid-Lancs where it has just been pelting down. And now the sun is trying to break out so it's going to be one of those days......

Georgesgran Sun 17-Nov-24 11:17:52

We should stopping ‘plugging’ up here Anny* and C47* or we’ll be inundated by visitors!

But really - Ushaw and Tommy? Just wonderful. X

A very late good morning from the NE where it is dry but chilly.
Annypops I know the place of which you speak, DS worked there until the office was transferred to a glass box on Gateshead quayside.
Had a lovely afternoon and evening with DS and GD. After dinner DS played the mandolin and practised a few carols, the mandolin will be a nice addition to our family concert on the day. GD played the piano, her grade 6 pieces are coming along nicely.
GD is rehearsing for Chicago which is being staged over four days next week and also she is the singer in the school rock band and needs to be up to speed for the concert at the end of term.
Today I am going to take it easy, there is enough left from last night's dinner to serve me tonight.
Have a good day.
