Good morning from an as yet dry Bristol. I hope t’north isn’t suffering too much from the snow, etc.
I went to church early yesterday immediately after the early service. A croissant breakfast was being served by a couple celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. I was there to help tidy up before the next service. The whole thing was surprisingly tiring as I came straight home after, not staying for coffee and chat.
I have finished the quilt. It is completely reversible and I’m happy with it, but the colours are not what I wanted. I want muted, pastels which I can’t find atm.
This week is full on, starting with an early visit to the building society for cash, the yesco. In the afternoon I have a WI meeting. I think there will be an entertainment. I don’t like them at all. Heyho!
Thinking about FGT2 and Himself getting test results today. 🤗
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩 and I hope this week is kind to you.

Good morning from s somerset, dull and wet today

A day off for me today, haircut early this morning and crafting group this afternoon

I have one more busy session on my plot, just a transfer of soil from one small ramshackle bed to a new bed, then I will cover the new bed and do a tip run The shed is not letting rain in now but is going to take six months to dry internally. Planning ahead to tomorrow I am going to start transfer of all my tools and `posh` wheelbarrow back to my home, to clean and store

Life is getting back to normal and I hope my swollen fingers start to subside, so I can knit

I am loving the quilt GM. Patience and talent in abundance

Have a good day

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -4° and frosty. GrandMattie no snow here yet, thank goodness, but I'm going to have to scrape the car soon. Love the quilt.
Yesterday I nipped into Tesco for wrapping paper and spent more than I intended! I bought a lovely soft woollen tunic on sale as well as sundry other stuff. I visited mum in the afternoon who was quite chatty when asked questions. Conversation is very difficult though.
Today is early childcare day. I'll scrape the car and head to dds house. After the school and playgroup drop off, I need to go to the lawyer to sign something. Then back for dgs2. Have a good day all

Mizuna Mon 18-Nov-24 06:11:50

Good morning from Cornwall where it sounds like it's raining. Off to catch a bus soon to the station for my trip to Liverpool. Only four carriages en route to Edinburgh! So glad I have a reserved seat as it will get crazily packed from Plymouth onwards. Love a long train journey and am so looking forward to seeing my daughter and son-in-law despite the challenging situation.

Good morning from Durham. Very cold and dark, but after a late change of plans, I’m at DD2’s and taking DGS2 to Nursery later - he’s still asleep.
Thinking about FGT and himself and keeping fingers crossed for good news today.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Shropshire.Dark and dry at the moment.

We had a relaxing day yesterday although mum was on my mind.We took H home mid afternoon.DGD’s sleepover had gone well.

Another morning at home then we will collect DGD from school. We said she could choose what we do and she has chosen to go and see gma in the granny home.

Safe journey Mizuna.

Thoughts with FGT and Himself today🙏🏻

I hope Redcar’s recovery is going well and thoughts with all in sick bay.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning, Michael, and all GNs. Still dark and very cold in South Yorkshire. Barely above freezing outside at the moment. My one to one lino cut printing session went well yesterday and I now have a better understanding of the processes. It was exciting revealing each layer of colour and some of the effects were surprising and satisfying.
I have an early surgery appointment this morning and then I must go and buy my son in law a birthday card. Haircut this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Malta where it’s another sunny day with a high of 24°c expected.

That quilt is lovely grandMattie you are so multi-talented and creative.

I’ve got my nails this morning and might pop into a supermarket for a couple of things. Like you Grandmabatty, I always seem to come out with a trolley full of things I hadn’t gone in for!😄

Hope you have a good journey Mizuna. I love train journeys too! Hope your son in law will be better soon. Your daughter will be so glad of your support. 💐

Thinking of FGT and Himself and hoping for good news.🙏🏻

I’ve woken with a cracking headache, not sure why. My upstairs neighbour was walking back and forth from 3am which woke me up. No idea what she was doing at that time but I slept badly.

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

Ashcombe Mon 18-Nov-24 06:53:18

Good morning from a mild Torbay with rain forecast after a long dry period.

The quilt looks great, grandMattie!
Thoughts with FriedGreenTomatoes2.
Safe travels, Mizuna; I’m guessing you’re on a Cross Country train. I too like long train journeys and always enjoy the friendly service provided by that company. I hope your son-in-law soon recovers.

My usual exercise class then a rehearsal tonight. Three weeks until we open!

Have a good week, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all.

As well as competitive swimming DGS1 (Year 9) has taken up rugby again after not having played since he was a young child. Saturdays’s match culminated in a broken finger but he was ‘man of the match’ for his running and fierce tackles playing against another school in West Berskshire. A four hour wait in A&E wasn’t the best Saturday night spent with his dad. We have DGS2 all day today.🤞he is not going to have any meltdowns.

Pantglas2 I wonder why you are having trouble posting on GN from SoD. I was on the ship last year and didn’t have a problem. Also I posted (but only when docked) from the Caribbean a few years ago. The cost of WiFi onboard was horrendous on the P&O ship.

I hope Redcar is making a good recovery, that all is well with your son Marydoll and that Oops is feeling better too.

Have a good day all and thinking of those who are unwell.

Redcar Mon 18-Nov-24 07:10:24

Good morning everyone from Essex. No idea what the weather is doing but we had some heavy rain yesterday evening.
DD is in the office today, so DSil will be looking after me. I’ll get regular ups of coffee & snacks as he is able to take more regular breaks from work than DD. DD2 may call round to say hello.
grandmattie that quilt is lovely, very vibrant colours.
mizuna enjoy your train journey and I hope your son in law is feeling better. Your DD will be relieved to see you.
fgt thinking of you and hoping for good test results.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all from a cold S E Essex

I have been awake since 4.30am, started reading my kindle at 5.30am, already tired!

Off to the gym this morning then I need to sort out my Christmas gifts to see what I need to buy and for whom 🙀. List writing for my marathon shopping trip tomorrow 🤣

Thinking of dear FHT2 and himself 🤞

kittylester Mon 18-Nov-24 07:20:30

Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire.

I must tackle the ironing this morning before a zoom carer session this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from a clear moonlit Northampton, but showers forecast later.

Yesterday afternoon was rather full-on; it was our 'Tapathon' which I'm glad.to say went very well, and I remembered most of the steps for all our dances. All in all I did 4 tap routines and 3 ballet sequences. It was a lovely atmosphere with friends and families applauding loudly.
That was followed by wonderful refreshments,.Then we had our annual quiz, which our team won for the third time! Think we could be banned if we win again!
When we came out it was pouring with rain.

Yoga this morning followed by coffee at the little cafe.
Will take it easy this afternoon.

Pantglas, I too was wondering why.you are having trouble posting from the ship; when I have been on that line have never had any problems.

Thoughts are with FGT2 and her DH today.

Hopefully all have a pleasant day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 18-Nov-24 07:38:20

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Have a good trip Mizuna. Younger son was at Manchester University for five years. I used to enjoy the three hour train journey from Oxford.

What a beautiful quilt GM! I’ve only ever made cot size quilts.

FGT2 - so many of us will be thinking of you both.

I am going to Oxford this morning to buy Christmas presents. A lot of my family live in Australia so things will need to be posted by the end of November to ensure delivery.

OH will stay at home where we have our cleaner and gardener coming. We bought 300 bulbs the other day so our gardener will be busy!

Have a good day everyone.

NannyJan53 Mon 18-Nov-24 07:40:41

Good morning from a grey and damp Black Country.

Quiet day yesterday. Popped into town for a few bits and bobs. Then relaxed with a book in the afternoon.

Monday walk this morning, then Line Dancing this afternoon. Ready for a nap by 4pm smile

Thoughts are with FGT and himself all of the GN good morningers are with you!

Nanicky Mon 18-Nov-24 07:43:20

Good morning all you lovely People😊. I'm new to gransnet, and read your posts each morning. They are so interesting, funny, informative, and at times so very sad, that I've shed tears, although I don't know any of you, I feel I do. I'm in the Black County, with DH, 2DS, 2Dils, and 2 very loved GS.
Nice to meet you all. 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 18-Nov-24 07:46:50

Good morning from a wet, but starting to dry Oxfordshire.

The bathroom is clear and ready for the men, let’s hope they arrive.

I’m still all over the place, ear and head wise, so I’ll stay out of their way, in the sitting room with a book, well my Kindle.

Safe journey Mitzuna
FGT 🤞and all good wishes for himself.

Have a good day everyone.
