Happy Birthday to Dollie 🎂. Such a lovely age

Good morning from a frosty County Durham.
Yesterday was such a lazy day. Daytime TV is something I normally never bother with but a rerun of Downton Abbey caught my eye and I blissfully settled into it.
Dance fit today and it looks like the car will require quite a lot of scraping beforehand.
School pick up later plus teatime with the terrible trio, who keep us on our toes. One of them will go onto secondary school next year and then they'll be two. How quickly they grow.
Snow forecast tonight.....brrrr!
Thinking of FFT and Himself today.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp corner of Somerset. Rain forecast for most of the day, soggy leaves underfoot for sure.

We’re both shattered this morning after a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Such a treat to be with family. Christmas gifts sorted for two grandchildren too. A bonus.

Quietly pottering here today. The planned trip to get the car washed will wait for a dry day.

Safe and enjoyable journey Mizuna. It occurred to me reading your post I’ve not been on a train for about 20 years. Must rectify that. That’s a wonderful quilt grandmattie, what a shame it’s not to your taste. Hope your headache clears quickly bellasnana.

Thinking of FGT and everyone with worries of any kind. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

brook2704 Mon 18-Nov-24 07:57:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold with a thick layer of frost. There’s some light snow in the forecast but nothing much.
Safe journey Mizuna, your DD will be pleased to see you and hope your SiL is feeling better soon
I’m off to DD2s this morning, I’ll help with a few jobs and take some shopping round. Later I’ll pop into town for a coffee and a browse around the shops.
Well done with the tapathon BlueSapphire sounds like a good fun afternoon
Fgt hoping for good results later 🤞
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Welcome Nanicky from a fellow Black Country girl

Nanicky Mon 18-Nov-24 08:05:58

Awww thanks everyone, I just wanted to say hello, seemed bit wrong reading your posts, and not introducing myself. I might not post very often, but very happy to be here. Yes NannyJan53, the lovely Black Country.👍😊

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is -3°C,

Thank you Grandmabatty, it is indeed Dollie's birthday. 😍
Birthday greetings also to Litterpicker, Babydoll's namesake.

Safe journey Mizuna, who needs an alarm clock at 5.59am? 😉DH was not amused and blamed the Ebay Queen, who is on her way to Rome. 💚 Luckily by, the time she messaged five minutes later, my phone was on silent. 🤭

So talented, GM. I am so envious of your skills and talent.

We are off to the hearing clinic today, it has only taken about five years for DH to admit he has a problem. The clinic is about thirty minutes away and DH has offered to accompany me to the TKMaxx close by, after we drop off the charity shop bags. I wonder what prompted that, but I am not complaining. DD has sent me a shopping list for Home Bargains next door. I will have to restrain myself, we do not need any more Christmas tat.
After school we will go and see Dollie, with her gifts, a oerfect end to the day.

Thinking of FGT and her DH. 💐

I need to go and scrape my car, hoping DH has already done so
I have to drop off laundry at church, before we go out.
All I really want to do is stay is hunker down and stay in bed, my chest is awful today! It must be the drop in temperature.

Have a good day folks.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 18-Nov-24 08:14:31

Good morning everyone from a misty and damp south Manchester. We set off for Christie’s at noon for the scan results. Himself is upbeat (he feels well you see) and has just brought TIBfor us both. I’m hopeful but wary of taking anything for granted. Thank you for all your good wishes.

Till tomorrow dear virtuals. x

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish Carlisle where it was foggy and -2°C at dawn.
Yesterday I took a walk around the park with the Pond full of birdlife except for the resident swans. Never not seen them before. The rest of the day was quiet with admin and reading plus a bit of online shopping.

Today will be busy as I like to get the bulk of the routine housework over and done with on a Monday.

Welcome to you Nanicky

Wishing Mr FGT good luck.

And wishing you all a good day.

JudyBloom Mon 18-Nov-24 08:45:53

Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Mon 18-Nov-24 08:47:52

Good morning from a bright and misty hillside in south Glos where it’s decidedly chilly. I’m just back from the early dog walk, I do love getting out first thing, especially if I haven’t slept well.
The grass is thickly covered in beautiful golden and red fallen leaves for one part of our walk, beautiful in the sunshine.
I have to pop to the village in a bit to post DGSs socks, I fervently hope that they actually get delivered this time, having failed to arrive last time. I will send them recorded delivery and keep my fingers crossed.
Apart from that nothing planned so let’s see how the day goes 😊

GrannySomerset Mon 18-Nov-24 08:50:16

Feeling distinctly off this morning so no U3A and flower club demo as think I should keep whatever germs I am incubating to myself and in any case don’t feel sociable at all. Not helped by a very painful hip which has appeared from nowhere, so a day at home seems sensible.

Thinking of everyone with challenges to face, especially FGT, and hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Kalu Mon 18-Nov-24 08:56:00

Good morning from a very cold -2 deg with a thick frost in Glasgow

No plans today part from collecting a script later when the temperature rises to a slightly milder 3 deg!

Thinking of the FGTs with every wish for a positive outcome.
Happy Birthday to Dollie Marydoll such a lovely age.

Have a pleasant day all.

Good morning from bright, sunny and cold South Lanarkshire. It’s below freezing and everything is sparkling in the sunshine.

Beautiful quilt gM.

Safe journey Mizuna. I’m sending up a little prayer for your DH FGT.

Wishing wee Dollie a happy birthday.

Yesterday turned out to be quite busy. We had several different collections to count after Mass which took a bit longer than usual. I went home to change my clothes as some of our yarn group were meeting up at the farm where our Christmas tree is stored. We had to do some repairs before it could be loaded onto the trailer and taken down to its spot in the town. Unfortunately the battery operated lights under the star hadn’t been removed last year and were no longer working. It’ll be a task to replace them now that the tree is upright but we may manage it at some point.

Photo was taken before we had finished tweaking it.

I’m in the charity shop this afternoon then we have a little excitement with the yarn group as we are being filmed for a potential piece to be shown on television in the run up to Christmas. It’s all a bit hush hush at the moment. 🤫

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a frosty NE but the sun is shining too.
Nothing planned for today so will just do some housework.
DD rang me yesterday afternoon and we had a long chat. She had been to the Briish grocery shop in a village close to her Brussels home. They sell some ex pat favourites but obviously at a price.
Thoughts are with FGT and her DH today.
Birthday greetings to Dollie.

grandMattie Mon 18-Nov-24 09:55:49

Lovely tree, baubles. I’m glad that the tree is reused every year.

DanniRae Mon 18-Nov-24 09:57:23

I wish good news to FGT and her husband x

hollysteers Mon 18-Nov-24 10:17:33

Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast.
Dsister still here and yesterday we had a nice time at a garden centre out in the country. I bought heathers, some stocking fillers and we had a nice lunch of Thai green curry.
Home in the dark and wet and watched an interesting documentary on the Romanovs.

Not sure what we will do today, but Dsister leaves late afternoon.
Lovely photos today, thoughts to Mizuna on her travels, FGT, and welcome Nanicky🌺

GrandmaC47 Mon 18-Nov-24 10:33:50

Thoughts are with Fgt and her dh. Safe travels Mizuna, I love train travel. Welcome Ninicky lovely quilt gM. I can’t sew at all. Happy birthday Dollie lovely tree Baubles
Hope those feel poorly get better soon.
Very frosty here in Co Durham. Dgd arrived at 7.30 this morning and will stay overnight so another early start tomorrow. Off to bike to nowhere for half an hour.

monk08 Mon 18-Nov-24 11:08:23

Late good morning all from the Black country where the sun is shining.
Just realised my post had disappeared.
Thoughts with FGT and himself.
Safe travels Mizuna.
I see another Black country lady has joined this lovely thread welcome Nanicky 👋.
No plans as yet think DH wants to do a shopping trip with a trip to the garden centre thrown in.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Redcar Mon 18-Nov-24 11:13:10

Hope I’m not too late to wish dollie a happy birthday!

Pantglas2 Mon 18-Nov-24 12:50:26

Hello 👋 from St Vincent where it’s hot and humid and we’re about to breakfast 🥞😋

Seems the reason I couldn’t access GN was because we were at sea and they restrict access to certain sites - couldn’t FaceTime DD either but hope to see her lovely phisog later 🥰

Hope good news abounds for those awaiting, you know who you are 💐
