Good morning from Bristol. It’s still pretty chilly. St. Cecilia’s day, she is the patron saint of music.
I had a much quieter day yesterday and was thrilled to receive my refund from the failed attempt for a PoA. I also got a profuse apology from the generally very reliable company. PoAs shouldn’t take 10 months for non completion, not sent to the appropriate government agency! I’m starting again next week with a local solicitor.
Taichi then dinner at DD’s. The girls were very taken by the idea of a “lucky dip” Advent calendar.
Today, Spanish class then I’ve been invited to tea with DD and family, it’s her birthday 🎂
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Michael and all who follow, it’s frosty here this morning.

Not going to talk about the bathroom because I’m so cross.

MrOops has the flu.

Have a good day everyone, let’s hope it’s sunny,I have to sweep up the leaves as the Walnut tree is suddenly bare.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 22-Nov-24 05:53:45

Sorry GM I was still writing as you posted, good morning to you as well.

Bonnybanko Fri 22-Nov-24 06:07:45

Good morning all from a very cold east of Fife where there’s a forecast of ice and snow.

I’m getting 2 jabs today and I’m not looking forward to that as I’m terrified of needles, I’ll have to put my big knickers on.

I’ll be having 3 rashers of unsmoked bacon and a poached egg for my breakfast which my carer will make for me. I love having a hearty breakfast I might even have toast and fresh orange juice.

Have a good day my friends wherever you are, keep safe and cosy

karmalady Fri 22-Nov-24 06:12:01

Good morning from s somerset, sunny today but very cold

My hat present is finished, 000s of stitches and it is already very soft, even pre-washing. Very sheepy pure local wool, I wash in my wool wash programme with wool wash. It will come out beautiful

I did odds and ends yesterday, even some in the garage. I need to re-arrange all my wall fittings, to make things more- easily accessible and I will do it by spring but am hoping to get the mood before then. I could start by taking logs out but on the other hand those logs are perfect for my stove this winter. Patience is a virtue

Signed -for and age -confirmed deliveries are arriving today, main priority for what I do with my day. I am raring to go but need to hold my horses until they arrive

Have a good day

grandMattie Fri 22-Nov-24 06:26:04

Thanks, oops.
I was half saddened when the council swept our street yesterday. The beech leaves made a deep layer on the pavements and the Liquidambar leaves were so very pretty both in shape and colour.

Morning from S Hants, I expect it’s frosty. Good news on the refund gMattie and Happy Birthday to your daughter.
Last Christmas present ordered yesterday, it’ll be added to the stash lurking upstairs.
We met up with friends who live in Barcelona last night, they’ve come from floods to ice and yesterday we had snow.
It was lovely to see excited children on their way to school, snow is pretty rare down here.
Tesco today, curry to make, MrJ on a drive and it’s the official relaunch of our local along with the last day in her current job for my daughter.
Hope taichinan pops in this morning.

Good morning from Malta where it’s going to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 14°C. We have been lucky so far wth the weather but we do need rain.

Nothing of interest to report so I will just wish a happy birthday to your DD grandMattie, and a good day to all.☀️

Ashcombe Fri 22-Nov-24 06:51:35

Good morning from a chilly Torbay although there’s been no snow locally but enough to cause problems in other parts of Devon yesterday with the A30 brought to a standstill, apparently and many schools being closed.

I tried out a new hairdresser yesterday and was very pleased with the experience and the result. It was bitterly cold as I walked back so the warm pasties DH fetched from our local bakery were particularly welcome.

Stay warm and well! 🦩🥰🥶💐🦩

Good morning from cold and very frosty South Lanarkshire.

Off to Edinburgh today to help with the children. DS has a day off which means we can spend some time with him too which's doesn’t happen often.

Good news about your refund gM and happy birthday to your DD.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Durham. It’s still dark, but looks like another fine, sunny day to come. Of course, there’s no warmth in the sun.
I’ve been asked to have DD2’s Little Dog for another week, as she’s away with work and other commitments. I’m not too happy about it, but I will of course, if it helps.
I’m off to get some kind of dinosaur she’s bought from FB Marketplace this morning. I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 11, picking up some odds and ends in M&S, then it’s walking the dog to get home before dark.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.

I didn't go to Waitrose yesterday so that is on the cards this morning and then we have to collate the Christmas presents that are strewn all round our bedroom.

We should have been meeting friends for lunch but one of the others has an upcoming heart op and is trying to avoid bugs. Fish and chips for tea is a bit of compensation.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Stilllearning Fri 22-Nov-24 07:03:00

An early good morning (for me) from South Lanarkshire, —2 according to my phone. A family funeral yesterday ( my daughter’s mother in law) and another one today, one of my friends from college. Both lives well lived.
I have to get the train at 8.20 and have splashed out and booked a taxi to take me to the station, I am feeling the cold these days and am wary of icy pavements.
Having said that when I was walking to our book club meeting earlier this week I really enjoyed crunching through the piles of frozen leaves, small winter pleasures!

Nothing planned this weekend so perhaps some thoughts of Christmas, I am unnerved by your organisation Jaxjacky!

I too wish we would hear from Taichinan.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Greyduster Fri 22-Nov-24 07:12:30

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very cold South Yorkshire. One degree, but better than minus three yesterday. I actually picked up my knitting again yesterday. I’ve been knitting this wretched cardigan since the vikings invaded, and have one sleeve to go. Whether it will fit me now when it’s finished is another matter. If not, I’ll frame it and hang it on the wall! Had a chat on the phone with DS and DiL yesterday evening. He rang me but was rather grumpy so I was pleased when he handed the phone over to his good lady!
Volunteer session this afternoon.
Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 22-Nov-24 07:17:41

Morning everyone it’s 2° here in S E Essex, off to the gym first thing, then I also need to get all the gifts out of their various hiding places, and assess what else I need to buy.

Yesterday didn’t go to plan, manicure and pedicure were cancelled as the beauticians was poorly, instead I hunkered down and wrote my Christmas cards. I am thinking of cutting down the list even more next year 🎄

Keep warm folks 🙋‍♀️

cornergran Fri 22-Nov-24 07:26:55

Morning Mick, morning All from an icy corner of Somerset.

Felt sorry for the dentist yesterday not only did she have to cope with an anxious patient but needed to change rooms as the dental light in hers refused to work. Once we were both re-settled it was a painless process, especially as Mr C paid the bill.

Volunteering this morning, as we sit in front of the door the temperature drop as patients come in and out will keep me awake after another night with little sleep.

Good news about your refund grandmattie, happy birthday wishes to your daughter. Sorry to hear mr oops has flu. A challenging couple of days stilllearning

Must get a wriggle on. Have the best day you can everyone. Stay warm.

Autumncolours Fri 22-Nov-24 07:29:28

Good morning from Yorkshire. Most of the snow has gone now. Looks dry outside and feels warmer - yesterday was freezing so I just hunkered down and tried to keep cosy at home. Just got up to let my wandering little cat in. Hoping to go for a walk later and a bit of shopping. Have to take a jumper back to M&S - it is lovely but didn’t suit me. Glad the littles were excited by the mystery advent calendar grandMattie - hope there will be birthday cake for you to enjoy today. Sorry MrOops has flu - rotten luck on top of everything - hope he feels better soon. Good luck with the jabs Bonnybanko - give yourself a nice treat after. 😀 Hat sounds fabulous karmalady - you’re clearly talented. Trying to sort through the mountains of stuff in the loft but finding it much slower than I thought so I understand the shed issues. Very impressed with your Christmas prep Jaxjacky haven’t bought a thing yet. Bellasnana that weather sounds heavenly. Brave going to the new hairdresser Ashcombe glad you like it. Apologies re names - doing this on my phone and not sure how to do bold. Planning to read the advice on how to post things this afternoon - should’ve done that first! Enjoy your day as well as you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from mid Esses, it looks bright outside but probably chilly.
DD2 is taking me to hospital this morning to have my staples out, I shall be glad when that’s over, they’re very itchy. A very bad night as I couldn’t get comfortable.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Lilibill Fri 22-Nov-24 07:31:51

ginny Fri 22-Nov-24 07:38:03

Good morning from N. Bucks . Haven’t looked out yet but I’m sure it is chilly.
Hairdresser this morning and as DH can’t play golf he is having coffee. with his golf buddies.
We will meet up afterwards and.go off to get a few bits and pieces out of our town. Maybe a little lunch too.
Wishing all a good day, keep warm and take care.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 22-Nov-24 07:38:33

Morning all from a cold but not frosty West Oxfordshire. I am pleased about that as I’m going out soon after 9 am to an Art Society lecture on Banksy in our nearby town. I wasn’t looking forward to scraping the ice off my car!

OH will stay at home and sort out the ingredients for his first ever cake! It is his Bee Association meeting tomorrow. He will take jars of his honey along to be judged but another competition is for a honey cake. I am not allowed to make it as I’m not a member of the association. Wouldn’t it be bizarre if he won? Of course I will be supervising him. Both my sons bake and were making cakes when they were still at school.

Have a good day everyone - well done GM for sorting out your refund.

brook2704 Fri 22-Nov-24 07:45:45

Good morning everyone from a cold and snowy Inverness
Pleased you got your refund gMattie and Happy Birthday to your DD.
Good idea to get a taxi stilllearning but sorry to hear it’s for another funeral
Yesterday’s plans were cancelled as we had so much snow we couldn’t get out of the cul de sac until late afternoon. It ended up being an expensive day as I was online shopping a bit too much! We’ve not had any more snow overnight so I’ll go out today for some food shopping and will call into DD2s too
Safe travels to everyone out and about today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐

harrigran Fri 22-Nov-24 08:02:24

Good morning from a dry, cold NE. It was very windy during the night and was wishing I hadn't put the wheelie bin out.
I have a GP appointment this morning to discuss the cardiologist's report, my BIL is going to take me.
The rest of the day will be spent putting away the laundry and preparing food for the weekend.
I know how you feel about POA grandMattie, it took me 11 months to complete and that was with the solicitor who drew up my will.
Have a good day.

luluaugust Fri 22-Nov-24 08:05:18

Out later for appointment with Consultant to get my cataracts done, I am almost looking forward to it!
DGD1 has developed tonsillitis but I was interested to hear that she was able to get antibiotics at the local pharmacy.
Happy birthday to your daughter gM
Good wishes to all
