Going through a bad patch

I will say a prayer for you all.

The wonderful community here got praying for someone very close to me who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, she is doing really well against the odds.
I am hoping to update everyone before Christmas with positive news.

Sadly yes, but I won’t go into details on here. At the time you think you just can’t go on and your head will burst. Every morning when I woke up I would say to myself “I got through yesterday so I will get through today”. And I did.

My friend’s son has been going to GOSH since he was born and she says it’s marvellous. He has had so many ops there over the years and is doing fine now.

It never rains but pours. Several years ago we had a spell of bad luck - divorces, illnesses, you name it, we had it. Prayers definitely helped, but that’s just my faith. It helped me through sone dark times.

Yes Primrose it really is just a case of getting through it.
Is knowing how to start supporting the family, they obviously need a lot of help right now, will need to start doing the rounds.
Always seems to descend just before xmas, not that the time of year really matters.

Oh Babs this is a bad patch and a half. All you can do is keep on keeping on with the essentials. There will be other houses and let’s hope another pregnancy. I could make a frivolous remark about prayer but will just send warmest wishes

Life is tough at times 💐

This is a very rough rough patch indeed. Your poor family. As others have said there'll be other houses, new jobs and more babies. This time next year you'll look back and be amazed at how everything has worked out. Always remember - This too shall pass.

Yes I know will pass, am more worried for the family. Our house can wait. And am being super positive with them right now. Shoulders back, sleeves rolled up.
But it does make me feel daunted 😟

So sorry Babs life is very cruel sometimes. We’re having a very bad year too, just when I think things are looking up, down we go again. DH struggling with a virus now for the last few weeks and I’ve got my eye condition back all due to being run down. All the stress of the year is getting us down too.
Hope at least the New year brings some respite for you all.

One day at a time I think works best.

Each day try and think of something you can realistically achieve, and make a start at chipping away at a bigger problem.

Making a list helps, as does crossing things off once you've addressed/dealt with them.

Is the news about your grandson's progress good? I remember you telling us about him before.

Making a list helps, as does crossing things off once you've addressed/dealt with them.

Yes he should be fine after next op 🙏🏾
Then will need regular checks to make sure there is no cranial pressure.
His development could be a bit slow but most children catch up later.
As long as he is healthy. That is all we care about.

Dear Babs03 there are times aren’t there when you feel somebody somewhere has really got it in for you.

Any one of these could get you down but your family’s health and emotional well-being come right at the top of your list. Losing houses is sadly all too common but sometimes it can result in a better house or a happier move so don’t lose heart. Blessings can come disguised.
Your family are very lucky to have such a strong person at their centre - as you say, shoulders back and all that.

It is so unfair when everything seems to hit you at once. As you say the little one's health is the big thing and it is so good that he is doing well. I'm sure that will keep you going. Do keep us posted on how he is.
