Welcome dear Kitcheners. I am very happy to be opening the door to my favourite Granspals.

We have a new Aga. The atmosphere is cosy ' The buffet is ready for the sharing of. In the quiet corner we have music to suit all tastes. There are reclining chairs and cosy blankets and if all one wants to do is relax, then please do so.

By the way, it is a dear pal Baggs birthday tomorrow. There is a birthday cake in the larder. There is also plenty of Champagne with which to toast her.

I am off to my bed.

Thank you all for being extra special people. flowers moon]

Very best wishes to all for a Happy Christmas.
My house is bulging with 5 adults, 2 teenagers, one Staffie, one dog I can’t spell but very small and bites and my traumatised cat.
My GD’s boyfriend is googling Christmas getaways for 2025 as we speak.
I am fortunately out for a meal tonight and out for lunch tomorrow.
They are my S’s guests and he can entertain and cook for them.
Grinch is ruling here, but it was what I expected so not disappointed.
Kindest wishes to all.

The little dog that bites has wet the bed that his owner is due to sleep on( the folding bed in the old dining room).
The second glass of sherry has been poured already.

Naughtyneine Your message is truly an up-lifting gift. I have shared it with Mr Soop. Our heartfelt thanks for your kindness. The kitchen is both a place for celebration and a refuge. It is, in my opinion, where my special Granspals meet.

I am taking a few days away from the computer. It deserves a break. In the meantime, my very best wishes are winging their way to each and every one of you.

Above all, I wish you peace and good health.

Just popping out of the quiet corner to wish everyone a happy Christmas and lots of happy times.

My dear son in law took me home this morning to pick up the post and rescue some flowers sent my dear sis in law. He had to pick up several pots of plants that had blown over in last weekend’s gales, and stack the garden chairs which were scattered over the patio. Otherwise all well at home. I’m going home on Friday, trying to write lists of things I need to do when I’m back such as put the milk bottles outside on a small table so I can reach them without bending too far!

I wish everyone in this lovely, kind kitchen as Merry a Christmas as possible.

Just to wish everyone in the kitchen a very Happy Christmas and the best possible 2025
Whether you’re sitting in the quiet corner or a regular poster it really doesn’t matter, it’s being amongst friends that counts and supporting each other as needed.
I’d be having a double sherry in your shoes uttb, enjoy your meal out this evening and lunch out tomorrow - you deserve it!
Hoping all family get togethers go as well as they can do and take care all x

Best wishes to Nannytopsy, hope everything went well for you today. 💐

Glad you're home safely after your wonderful family visit, brook. Enjoy tomorrow with your DD and DGC.

Hope you're feeling a bit better, Grandmabatty, have a wonderful Christmas with your wee boys.

Neine, thank you for your kind wishes. Hope you have a happy and peaceful Christmas with your lovely DH.
I'm proclaiming the first reading at Mass tonight, 'The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;' Isaiah 9:2-7. I'll be there with my sisters, my brother and sister in law. Then we'll exchange presents at DSis2's. Good job Midnight Mass is now at 8pm, following candlelit Carols.🎵🎶
Tomorrow, an early start and, like the Cornergrans, a lot of driving 🚘 but it means we'll see all our sons, partners and grandchildren between breakfast, lunch and dinner. We're really looking forward to seeing everyone. On Thursday I am planning to do nothing!!.
TOYA, especially those in the Quiet Corner. Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas Eve and a wonderful Christmas Day.

Hello! Knee was replaced this morning, with a spinal block and a very light level of sedation, so I knew what was going on
Physios got me out of bed briefly and I am doing what movements I can - can’t really call them exercises!
It’s a bit sore!

brook2704 Tue 24-Dec-24 21:19:44

That’s great news nannytopsy, well done! I hope you recover quickly and it’s not too painful. Enjoy Christmas as best you can and hope you’re home soon x

Well as my darling late mum used to say on every Christmas Eve “what we’ve not got now we’ll have to do without”.
