Do you sometimes feel you are doing too much?

This last week we have been more or less isolating ready to go on holiday overseas. We didn’t want to get sick before we go and there are a lot of various nasty bugs around just now. I have actually felt really relaxed and happy, no time pressures to meet anyone or attend social functions. Usually I have some sort of social event or meeting nearly every day which I always enjoy when I get there but I’m now thinking of seriously cutting back. I love meeting people but sometimes I just feel like my own company with no social pressure. I run a group regularly which is fine because at least I have to tidy the house! I am also President of a fairly large organisation but they will cope just fine without me , I am sure. Anyway, those are my thoughts for today !

Every day someone has decided I must do something. Teeth polished, flu and Covid injection, rsv, blood taken. DH wants to go to London but won’t go on his own. Did arriving Monday to discuss wills,Dd1 arriving next week to seethe aged parents. All arranged by someone other than me. I just make sure there is food in but I also do the cooking. No peace.

Yes I realise after reading this I do too much and my body is letting me know, I am going to see where I can make it easier for myself, at present I'm waiting for a hernia operation and have various health problems that I have ignored while trying to look after my husband who had a stroke and then a brain infection, now has to be helped to bed and toileting, I have carers 3 times a day but the rest of the time it's me, I have resisted putting my dh in a home despite doctors advice to think about my health, unfortunately I have left it to this time and now have constant pain , its a hard thing to discuss with him sadly, but maybe now is the time
