Those of you that read my posts and replies to others posts will already know I like to use the odd emoji grin

What are your feelings? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ

Do you love or loathe? ๐Ÿ˜œ

For me, just a bit of fun and quite expressive thanks

Sparklefizz Sun 01-Dec-24 09:39:21

I find emojis quite useful smile

Patsy70 Sun 01-Dec-24 10:05:29

I use emojis and find them helpful too. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽ„

I quite like them in a title too because you can spot the thread quickly if you want to add to it later. I mean like ๐Ÿ‘— ๐Ÿ‘ž ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ ๐Ÿ‘œ ๐ŸŽ‚ ๐ŸŽ„

Mt61 Sun 01-Dec-24 10:27:20

Yes I like them to express how I feel

Grannybags Sun 01-Dec-24 10:27:32

I use them all the time ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ ๐Ÿค—

I like them but I donโ€™t always know what they mean.

One of my family who lives abroad uses a purple heart to end a message quite often. I asked Dd and DiL what that means and neither knew. DiL said she uses it herself because she likes purple.

They do cheer up a text. ๐ŸŽ‰

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 01-Dec-24 10:46:27

I like them if used sparingly. Over-use is similar to using too many exclamation marks in my opinion!!!

According to my emojis meaning gallery the heart colours are just that. Purple heart is a purple heart, green is a green heart etc.

Donโ€™t ever use this though ๐Ÿ† !

But these are my personal favourites

Sometimes they can help to make sure the reader(s) of your message realise its a joke, for example, it prevents misunderstandings.

Wyllow3 Sun 01-Dec-24 11:14:19

Used sparingly, yes I like them.

I have reservations when used as strong put down instead of a poster explaining disagreement.

Both Ds and DiL rarely use them, DiL hates them.

Wyllow3 Sun 01-Dec-24 11:15:38

Oh and ๐Ÿ˜ก about an event thats happened you are fuming about.

Davida1968 Sun 01-Dec-24 11:17:34

Happy to see a few emojis. Like others here, I prefer them not to be "over-used", but I don't worry about it. (A lonely and rather isolated person I know, over-reacted negatively when a friend included one emoji in an email. IMO it's no wonder that this person is feeling isolated....life's too short!)

MaizieD Sun 01-Dec-24 11:25:31

I think emojis are fine, in moderation. I like to use them.

But when there are whole sequences of them in a post or a post title they're just annoying. I'm perfectly able to read, thank you. I don't need messages given to me in pictures ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Donโ€™t ever use this though ๐Ÿ† !

Why, Cossy? is it rude?

gentleshores Sun 01-Dec-24 11:34:00

I do but I use a laptop and there is a very limited selection of emojis on here!

Yes, that's the reason I sometimes use them.

In the title always reminds me of Fanny, and I wish she was still here ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Ohh I love the little darlings as anyone who reads my posts on non political threads ๐Ÿ™‚ will know!

A picture paints a thousand words IMO and saves a lot of tapping on titchy keyboards ๐Ÿ˜‰
