Good Morning Wednesday 4th December 2024
(48 Posts)Good morning from a cold Oxfordshire.
Nothing planned today, the fitters should finish the bathroom, but no idea when it will be decorated. Don’t care! It’s almost finished and that will do for now.
Glad you feel better Mick
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Bristol. Our little town is hosting its annual Christmas festival and I’m helping in the church this afternoon.
In the morning, after morning prayers, there’s the weekly FAB cafe which I host.
Am rather busy, so shall wish everyone a good day.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩
Good morning on another chilly one in Torbay. My first experience of winter temperatures since my GP prescribed blood thinners and I am noticing how much I feel the cold, especially at night.
I’m glad you are feeling better, Mick and I hope others who have been suffering are improving.
Our first rehearsal of The Wind in the Willows in costume tonight. That will be interesting! I shall probably attend Wednesday Club this afternoon.
Happy hump day! 🦩💐🎄🥰🦩
Good morning all from the Black country, curtains not open yet so don't know what the weather is doing.
The plan today is to go to the Artisan market in Brindley place then a carvery on the way home, but will see how DH is when he wakes he still is full of cold and cough.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and hope the poorlies are beginning to feel a little better ☀️.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a still dark frosty South Yorkshire. The temperature is set to lift a little later but not by much. SiL called round on his way home from work yesterday to help me unbox a heater I’ve bought for the conservatory. I had no idea it would be so heavy. Hopefully it will make the conservatory more usable this winter as several plumbers have told me us there’s no way of extending the CH into there. I am out to Christmas lunch with five of my neighbours today. Christmas jumpers will be worn and strong drink taken (I’m not driving!).
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it’s still dark and I don’t know what the weather’s doing. A chilly bu dry day is forecast, so I hope to have a short walk outside today. I went out yesterday and hope to increase the distance today, progress is slow!
I hope those with coughs, colds and other illnesses feel better today.
Have the best day possible everyone and keep warm.
Morning from a dark corner of S E Essex.
Chose the Christmas tree yesterday, it is currently having a soak in a bucket on the patio 🎄
Started wrapping Christmas gifts and now know what I have left to buy 🎁🛍️
Gym first thing, then some tinkering with decorations.
Enjoy your day 🙋♀️🤶🏻
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cold frosty start to the day but due to warm up later
Enjoy your Christmas lunch Greyduster sounds like a good get together!
I’ll be off out early today on the train down to Glasgow to meet up with the Glesca Grannies. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and the good chat and laughter
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a still dark W Kent. Decorated the Christmas tree yesterday and more or less finished the parcel wrapping. Today DF coming for coffee and a chat.
Best wishes
Morning Mick, morning All. Dark and dry is all I can tell you about our corner of Somerset. Not too cold, 6 degrees .
Lots of rushing around yesterday. Today will be calmer. I will, finally, finish the Christmas cards and prepare a birthday card for my cousin, with a just after Christmas birthday she’s often forgotten. A little cleaning, a lot of laundry and maybe a garden centre visit.
Mr C has been the same with blood thinners ash, a lot of muttering goes on here. Pleased you feel better mick. Sounds a good day ahead greyd and a very social one for you grandmattie, hope it’s not too exhausting.
Stay warm and have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning from a dry, mild Cornwall. Completed my training at our main hospital yesterday so can start as a volunteer now, firstly in A&E. Today I'm off to the library craft group in another town - we're making crackers today- then back to collect the littlest grandchildren from school. The seven-year-old was teaching me how to use his plastic machine gun last week. Little does he know I'm a pot shot with an air rifle, though it's not something I usually talk about!
My arty daughter-in-law is over the moon because I knitted her Christmas dinosaur a tiny bobble hat, an inch long 😄. It's in her window.
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
DH and I are both still under the weather - we have a sort of low grade flu. I was ahead with my Christmas prep - I'm not now!!
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from s somerset, sun and dry for most of the day
I was happily busy yesterday, all plot-related, wanting to safeguard my shed, which is now `clean` and tidily holding my stuff. I did lots of sewing, making heavy tubes from waxed canvas which I part-filled with grit and the ballast is now doing its job
I want to be outside again this morning, I have things to do, plus a tip run
Thankfully I have a hm ready meal for lunch but I will be making root and lentil soup later.
Have a good day and reading that Mick is feeling better is such good news
Good morning all from Glasgow, it is 1°C, with showers predicted.
I had an enjoyable afternoon with the students yesterday, but did not enjoy the drive home in the rush hour. The oncoming lights were blinding me, it was not a pleasant experience at all.
I hope all the poorlies are beginning to feel better. Enjoy your lunch, Greyduster. We have two large radiators in the conservatory, but still not warm enough for me. I have always felt the cold badly, due to my lung conditions, but even more so now. Guess what, I am on blood thinners.
Safe journey down brook and I hope to see you and the others later.
Have a pleasant day folks.
Good morning from a dry Yorkshire, can see blue sky emerging. Glad you’re feeling better Mick. Enjoyed stepping out of bed onto the new carpet this morning - luxury! Visiting a stately home Christmas ‘experience’ this afternoon. They present a different theme each year and last year’s was wonderfully creative so looking forward to it. Thinking of those who are poorly or sad - hugs to you. Take care all.
Good morning everybody from south Manchester. It’s still dark yet and I’ve made my own mug of Yorkshire Gold as Himself is still snoozing beside me. I’ve decided to have the Covid jab after all and will nip into the pharmacy below some time today or it.
Yesterday was impressive NHS-wise. I have an area of concern (to me) on my cheek. I rang up the surgery mid morning and was given an appointment to see a doctor at noon. He looked at it with a dermascope and didn’t think it was anything sinister. “If I could see haemorrhaging ‘bleeding out’ I’d be concerned but there isn’t any.” He decided however a belt and braces approach and said he’d refer me ‘non-urgently’ to see a dermatologist. Last night, around 6pm I got a text full of gobbledegook (no smartphone 🤷♀️) so I forwarded it to Himself (smartphone - perhaps I’m seriously going to have to give in to one in the NY?) and apparently I’ve been given an appointment to see a dermatologist mid February! How’s that for the most efficient NHS service? I’m seriously impressed. 😁
Good morning all from cold and dark South Lanarkshire.
I’m feeling quite groggy after a night of broken sleep but will be much better after my coffee.
Yesterday was very busy in the charity shop. We’re fortunate to have good quality donations just now so lots of stock for Christmas.
Looking forward to the Glesgae Grans meet up today. See you later brook. 👋
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from Severnside. It’s very dark. I’m up earlier than usual as I have a nine o’clock appointment at the foot clinic. I didn’t want to get up though. I was planning on going to Lidl after but will leave that until tomorrow when I pick up my prescription as they and the pharmacy are on the same side of town.
Have a good day 🌸
Good morning all. It’s too dark to see what the weather is like but it does feel colder in Glasgow. Rain predicted for late afternoon.
I got my appointments mixed up yesterday. The physio appointment is for next Tuesday, yesterday was hairdresser appointment🤦🏼♀️. I am blaming it on cocodamol brain fog!
A busy day yesterday, the highlight being, picking GD2 up from Costa late afternoon. She and some school friends felt they needed a treat after their French prelim exam. I dropped her off at home, had a coffee with DD1 and lots of welcoming slobbery cuddles from their two labs which brings back memories of the labs we had.
Hoping all suffering with illness and pain feel some improvement soon.
I’m looking forward to meeting up with our lovely bunch of Glasgow Grannies this afternoon. Lots of blethering and laughter which is so good for the soul.
Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.
Ooh hope all the grannies joining in the meet up in Glasgae have a wonderful time! Photos please tomorrow! 😁
Good morning Mick and all from a dark cold northwest coast.
Had a colour test at local hairdresser yesterday before my appointment on Thursday. I usually drive 40 miles around trip, but am still recovering from my op’ so will try this hairdresser my DD used.
Music club went well, but I have to remember who is next in line to perform, they are dotted around the room so for some reason, I always forget one chap🙄 Read my own poem, a v serious piece, an Ode to the British White Cardigan, beloved of us brits in the summer😁
This morning to the doc as I have a dull pain in my lower right abdomen nowhere near my op’ site, but hoping it’s part of my recovery. Then lunchtime recital, but will see how I feel…
Hope your rehearsal goes well Ashcombe, I so miss my opera company and thoughts to all🌺
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and a bit damp out. I just had the dressing gown walk of shame putting the bin out and was spotted by two neighbours.
Yesterday dgs2 and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day. A trip to Tesco for his magazine, then home to paint. Later we played kerplunk. I went for petrol and the assistant offered dgs2 free chocolate. The day before he was given a bag of sweets at his soon to be nursery. As they say around here, "he would get a piece (sandwich)at anybody's door."
Today I will be on the train later and heading to Glasgow to meet up with the Glasgow grans. I missed the last one, so I'm particularly looking forward to this one. Have a good day all.
Are you not going to the meet up Marydoll?
Have a wonderful time, all you Glasgae grannies. I wish we could have one round here, I’d love to meet the local grans…
