Good morning from a still frost free Suffolk. I’m off to my keep fit class which I’m looking forward to as I’ve missed the previous two so feel in need of the exercise with the friendly group.

Afterwards the cancelled shopping trip with my friends that couldn’t go ahead last week because of the flooded lanes. A group of 5 of us from the class have coffee on the first Wednesday of the month after the class but I’ll have to miss today’s.

Hope all have the best day possible especially those getting together in Glasgow.

Are you not going to the meet up Marydoll?

I said I would see brook and the others later, all being well.
I am just trying to get moving.

Good morning all. Will come back later to read the thread as I have a busy day and must get going.
A delivery first thing and a chap coming to cut back some conifers.that grow over our fence from the house behind.
Manicure at 10 and then a bit of food shopping ready for friends arriving tomorrow.
Craft club this afternoon where I am in charge of the project, a festive floral ring. Also made a very different one at Flower club last evening.
WI Christmas meeting this evening, so cakes to fill and other bits to organise.
Wishing all a pleasant day and thinking of those who are under par.

Good morning from a dark and chilly Black Country.

Took Mum to see a Doctor yesterday. She has a severe ear infection in both ears. Now has an Ear spray to take 3 times a day, and Antibiotics 4 times a day! Try explaining that to someone with Dementia. I wrote it all down with times, but I am not hopeful. Think I will have to ring her at the times, but seeing as her hearing is not so good, that could be problematic too!

Today I am off to meet a group of friends for coffee and cake may be involved too smile

I didn't know there was an Artisan market at Brindley Place Monk is that every Wednesday, or just the run up to Christmas?

That sounds excellent service FGT2 to get an appointment that early here, we need to ring at 8am, then it is touch and go.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from a clear and dry Northampton, with sunny spells forecast today.

My gardener did not come yesterday as his wife was ill, and they had no childcare. Will be here next Monday instead.

A busy day yesterday; stripped the bed, put the Christmas bedding on and also the winter duvet. Two loads of washing done, woollies and the bedding. Gave my en-suite a thorough clean as well, and damp-dusted the bedroom.

Got some Christmas stuff out of my big camphorwood chest. The chest sits in my bay window, and will now be covered with a Christmas tablecloth, ready for the Christmas tree.

And so my job for the day is to get the tree and decorations in from the garage, and install in my front window. I do love to see it decorated and the lights twinkling!

Ordered two new candle arches yesterday, as for some reason my old one will not switch on. These are battery ones, so I can now put one in my landing window which has no plug socket near it. The other one is for the study front window. Also thought I'd get some rechargeable batteries for them and a charger.

So, a busy day ahead which I hope goes to plan! Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from a cold Essex coast.
I was going into town this morning but have decided to stay in and finish Christmas wrapping.
DD1 rang yesterday evening to tell me that my 9 year old DGD had passed an audition to join a choir in Warwick, she will be one of the youngest members. The choir master said 'she has a lovely voice with a very good range'. Proud gran here.
Enjoy your meet up Glasgow Grans.
Best wishes to all xx

Good morning from the NE cool and damp underfoot.
Workmen have been here since 7am but I am okay because I have had my shower before they turn the gas off until this afternoon.
SIL is coming this morning to take me shopping there will be a problem parking the car in the street. I can not believe the stupidity of the school run they insisted on driving into the street despite it being blocked with diggers and wagons.
This evening we are going to GD's school concert especially looing forward to the rock band where she is doing a Blondie number and of course Slade.
Enjoy the meet up Glasgow Grans.

NannyJan think it's just the run up to Christmas on today and Saturday 7th.

Jaxjacky Wed 04-Dec-24 08:18:20

Morning from high cloud and 3 in S Hants, rain by tomorrow. Good luck tonight Ashcombe
We did the same GG13 and our tree is soaking outside too.
Yesterday was house tidying and in the evening my son, his fiancee and her daughter were here for takeaway, good to have a proper chat.
MrJ is on a hospital drive later, I have some online ‘stuff’ to do and a couple of programmes to catch up with.

Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle. Nothing good forecast for later, rain and wind.

I finished off a bit of cleaning yesterday then basically just mooched around, just couldn't work up any enthusiasm for my job list but did catch up on some reading.
The list has lengthened overnight so I shall kick my btm and get some of the more urgent items crossed off.

Have a good meet up up there in Glasgow and the best possible day to everyone else.

Ah, I just wondered because you made no mention of it after organising it! 😊

Good morning from a frosty County Durham.
We took a trip to the cemetery yesterday and placed the wreaths on the family graves. For the first time it crossed my mind that one day, when my sister and I are unable, there will be no one else left to do this. The cemetery is in the village where I was born and my DC have no connection with the place, other than distant memories of their GP.
Looking at the many neglected graves it did make me feel quite sad, then I reminded myself that as long as we are living, we carry those we loved with us close in our hearts, more important than any tombstone.
Have a wonderful meet up G Grans. You must tell us all about it.
Wishing all the best day possible.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 04-Dec-24 08:37:36

Safe journey down brook and I hope to see you and the others later

Apologies Marydoll just re-read your post! I ought to stop speed reading - I’m obviously rubbish at it! 🤣

Gingster Wed 04-Dec-24 08:52:09

Good morning all and I’m running late.
Church at 10 after dog walk , up to town but not meeting my friend for coffee as she had cataract removal on Monday.

I need to pop into the bank and go to M and S for some treats as my brothers will be visiting in Sunday.

Choir tonight and my friend is joining. 🎶.

Have a lovely meet up Glasgow grans. A bit of a trip for you Brook but obviously well worth seeing your pals.

Take care all 🎄

GrannySomerset Wed 04-Dec-24 09:03:56

Out for lunch with a group of local oldies which will be fun, and the history society Christmas lecture and drinks this evening, so a very social day ahead and will be all talked out by the end of it. Hope the Glasgow gathering is a great and noisy success, and that a good time is had by all.

Susan56 Wed 04-Dec-24 09:05:13

Annypop I had the same thoughts when I visited my dad’s grave last week😢

Taichinan Wed 04-Dec-24 09:13:53

Good morning all from the Angus coast where the sun has just popped up over the horizon. The sky is blue, the few clouds are pink, the temp is 1° and there's a dusting of snow on the hills. Oh and the magpies are busy hoovering up the bird food which I put out half an hour ago for the little birds. They are so greedy!
I was completely shattered yesterday after the walk to and from the garage and the tai chi class, mainly because I had wrapped up warm and was too hot! I just can't get it right these days.
DGD3 phoned early evening from the uni library in Dundee where she was finishing an essay. She'd heard it was snowing heavily in Crieff, so if she couldn't get home could she come to me. Of course she could! But I decided not to do a panic clear out of Christmas gifts from the spare room until I heard definitely - and sure enough, she got home in record time with no traffic hold-ups and not a flake of snow! To be fair, her small village in a hollow in the hills does tend to fill up with snow at a sniff of the white stuff, but not yesterday. But it was nice to think that I am on her possible diversion radar 😉
Have a good day everyone - particularly the Glesga Grannies with your meet-up.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 04-Dec-24 09:21:03

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire.

We’re off to Cirencester today. A convoluted story but I spotted a beautiful William Morris bedspread in a ‘posh’ magazine. I tried ordering it but it was out of stock in shops near me. It’s from Habitat, via Argo via Sainsbury’s! Finally it was in stock but in Cirencester, which is a bit of a hike. I bought it anyway and we’re collecting it today. On the way back I’ve booked lunch in one of those villages with Ampney in the title.

Enjoy your meeting, Glasgow ladies.

Stilllearning Wed 04-Dec-24 09:22:33

Morning from Giffnock where I have been helping with the children. DD is away at a conference.

Sad to say I won’t be able to join the rest of the Glesca Grannies today as there is a family reunion on what would have been my sister in law’s 90th birthday so good memories to be shared.

I’m so sorry to be missing seeing everyone though, specially you Kaluand hope you all have the usual happy gathering, all being well I’ll be there next time.

Best wishes to everyone else too for a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 04-Dec-24 09:43:56

Sar53 congratulations to your GD 👏👏👏

RosesandLilac Wed 04-Dec-24 12:22:19

Good afternoon, I guess it’s better to be late than never!
I’m completely discombobulated today, blipping from one thing to another so I’ve got a very late cup of coffee and am hiding in a corner before something else happens/breaks/ stops or cannot be found. A very odd morning! Is it a full moon or something?
Let’s hope tomorrow goes better😊
