The Chinese businessman, described as a close confidant of Andrew, has lost an appeal against a decision to bar him from the UK on the grounds of national security.

The appeal judges said this man held an unusual degree of trust from a senior member of the Royal family who was prepared to enter into business activities with him.

Charles must truly despair at his opportunistic sleezy brother

RosiesMaw2 Fri 13-Dec-24 13:55:17

Andrew is a totally pathetic figure- pompous, entitled, arrogant and totally out of touch.

25Avalon Fri 13-Dec-24 14:01:17

Charles needs to get rid.

Wyllow3 Fri 13-Dec-24 14:05:24

I think this bit from the article says it all really

"A document listing "main talking points" for a call with Prince Andrew was also found.

It states: "IMPORTANT: Manage expectations. Really important to not set 'too high' expectations - he is in a desperate situation and will grab onto anything."

He's not getting anything from the public purse, is he?

Wyllow3 Fri 13-Dec-24 14:09:09

google:

"How much does King Charles give Prince Andrew?

King Charles reportedly 'ends' Prince Andrew's £1m annual allowance and security. King Charles has reportedly cut Prince Andrew off financially by giving instructions to end his £1m annual allowance.

So what is he living off?

Oh dear, Prince Andrew is such a liability to the Royal firm

Time for him to become a recluse, no money from the public purse, let him live off of what’s in his bank, I am sure he is not short of a bob or two…

Grannynannywanny Fri 13-Dec-24 14:11:45

I wonder if it even occurred to the pompous oaf that he was involved in dealings that could be a security threat or if he just viewed it as yet another way of cashing in on his family connections.

Absolutely.
He is dangerous to our security too.

And pompous oaf describes him well, GNW

No sweat, buy British - Reeves should be giving subsidies to any manufacturer who can reduce our imports. Use British

Thatcher started the rot by removing subsidies to the textile industry and big business and made us vulnerable to cheap imports.

I wonder if he has any real friends or just these dodgy people who then use him and his connections for their own ends. Sad really.

How can Charle# get rid of him ? Turn him out of Windsor and he could be kidnapped, he would certainly tell of life in
the royal family. His ex wife is certainly very busy, giving interviews about her daughters and grandchildren and much about herself.

Added to that the millions of pounds lost by the Chinese shell companies.
30,000 were registered last year.
HMRC appear to be as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike 😡

With the fortune he has at his disposal, he could easily make those problems disappear.

He seems to have an uncanny knack for choosing the wrong kind of friends.

There may be some spare rooms in the Tower of London which would be safe and secure.

His mother’s favourite. A charmer in his youth.
Now?
A bit of an entitled prat aka “Do you know who I am?”

Remember when Andrew rammed closed park gates with his very expensive Range Rover to avoid a mile’s detour home?
Entitled prat.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 13-Dec-24 21:47:08

And had a hissy fit with a staff member when the teddy bears on his bed were not arranged in the correct order.

Those I know who served with him in the RN would say the same.
