Good morning from a chillier Bristol. I haven’t looked out.
Yesterday was drizzly and windy and generally unpleasant to go out in.
I wrote my only Christmas card to be posted and proceeded to the letterbox and church for morning prayer only to find it full of the local primary school for their end of term carols. I was rather annoyed.
I then went to the complex/estate coffee morning, taking two of the gingerbread houses with me for the manager’s GDs. we are not allowed to give more than a token present to her.
Rushed lunch, then went on to the church hall for the ladies’ guild meeting. I was helping serving, doing the drinks. My “assistants” arrived as the meeting started, with little savoury biscuits. We had a group of sea shanty chaps entertaining, dry loudly
After about 40 minutes, serving started. I was told very firmly that all I’d do was the drinks. Ha! My two helpers were charged with adding milk to the teas I was pouring, or making instant coffee. I can’t tell you how long it took them, how fussy people are and ungrateful…
I went home before it was all finished, ,pleading exhaustion. I rested for the rest of the day.
Today, I have sewing to do, pick leaves/foliage for flower arrangements to be done tomorrow or Saturday and try to rest a bit.
I hope the day brings a few rays of happiness to what may be a sad/difficult day for some.Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩❤️
