Good morning from Bristol. I think it’s foggy like yesterday, but the sun will burn it off soon. The Avon valley was invisible yesterday - a shame as it’s a lovely view from DD’s living room.

Most of SiL’s family came to lunch. We had a complicated pumpkin tart made by him. It was very pleasant but it really worth a whole morning”s cooking.

After a convivial lunch, we piled into two ads and went to Cleveden for a walk along the promenade.p, together with half Somerset. It was chilly and misty.

The family left after that, and we had a very light dinner. A bit of tv and bed.

I’m going home today. It’ll be nice to be back in my own home, getting ready for a busy day tomorrow.

I hope everyone has had a happy few days. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a misty NE.
Been awake since 2.30, I thought it was 6.10 when I woke up.
Going to be a long day but I won't have any visitors so I can have a nap this afternoon.
Dinner was Christmas day leftovers, I wasn't very hungry, too much sweet food during the day.
My sister sent a photo to show that she was now getting out of bed and eating at a table but her face is still badly bruised and has limited mobility with the neck brace on.
Have a good day.

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy with a high of 15°C and a low of 9°C forecast.

I was thoroughly idle yesterday apart from vacuuming and doing a small load of laundry.

Today will be more of the same but I will walk up to the village as I need some cash out of the machine, then I’ve a hair appointment this afternoon and hope to see the boys.

Safe journey home dear grandMattie, it is always lovely to get back to your own bed isn’t it.😊

Glad to hear your sister is making progress harrigran.

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

Good morning from a very dark and cold day here on the east coast of Fife.I’m so tired after a very happy and busy Christmas Day therefore I’ll be resting up today catching up with my recorded tv programs the podiatrist is coming today my feet are well cared for

Have a good day my friends you know who you are 💐💐💐

karmalady Fri 27-Dec-24 06:26:25

Good morning from s somerset, it will be foggy and horribly damp and bleak for the whole day

It was quiet here yesterday but cheerful enough, I lit the log fire early, watched tv, knitted and ate nice food, speaking to AC on and off all day

I don`t want to be idle any longer but the weather is not conducive to being out so I will find more indoor things to do. I am enjoying the peace and quiet, happy enough in my own skin and on my own

Have a good day

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very foggy (again) South Yorkshire. So that was Christmas, that was. Yesterday, after a walk and a curry lunch, DD et al packed up their stuff and went home. My goodness it was quiet without them. I thought I would like that, but I didn’t. I have nothing much planned today. I had hoped to do some laundry but it will never dry in the garden in this weather - too still and dank. So, I shall try and resurrect my knitting today - the plan was to finish this wretched cardigan by Christmas but it fell by the wayside with a sleeve to go!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good Morning from Durham, after a misty, frosty night, I’m not sure what the weather holds for today and it’s too dark to see much.
After a short walk, I’ll take DD2’s Little Dog home today. She was full of cold yesterday and just couldn’t get warm here. It’s a shame DGS2’s nursery is closed until next week, so she won’t get much rest. However, she left me a bag of laundry which will need to be dried indoors.
Other than this, I’ve nothing else planned, but I’ve lots of things in my head for 2025. .

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from W Kent, no idea of the weather yet. A happy day with DD2 and family yesterday and more eating. DB is off home today after a light lunch at a favourite local restaurant. We are then on cat care duty for DD’s cat until Sunday.
Best wishes to all

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, damp corner of Somerset.

The mist (not thick enough to be fog) drifted back and forth like lazy waves on the beach yesterday. We had a very atmospheric walk along the river, mild at least. Otherwise a quiet catching up with tv day.

Early hospital appointment for me today, fortunately not too far. I should learn if my symptoms of many years are actually systemic lupus. Restorative coffee and a look around a garden centre will follow, perhaps a short walk further along the coast before fish and chips for lunch. Need to pick up some veg before returning home via Dunelm. That’s us for the day!

Safe travels to anyone out on reduced visibility roads. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

We had a most pleasant day yesterday at DS’s with nice food and happy children.

Today is our turn to entertain. My brother and his partner is visiting from France, doing their usual Christmas tour of family and friends. They are staying only one night before moving on but it’ll be great to see them.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a dark chilly Cambridgeshire. We plan to take the Christmas tree down today as DH is convinced he is allergic to it!! We had a Noble tree this year and it has been very strong smelling. Will see how he goes on when the tree is removed. A shame as we have friends in for New Year’s Eve and I would have like the tree to stay up for that.

The challenge today will be to get DH a doctors appointment he has coughed wheezed and his chest has been rattling and whistling so badly all over Christmas.

Wishing a peaceful happy day to all

Good morning from Shropshire.A misty start today.

Yesterday DD1 and family came over.We went into town as the parish church was doing a teddy zip wire.We went up the bell tower and the children were allowed to ring the bells then they secured the teddies on the zip wire and came back down to watch the bears descend.A fun activity then home for a buffet lunch.

A quiet day today I think.I have several new books so once the usual chores are out the way an afternoon of reading.

Take care anyone out and about today and have the best day you can🦩

brook2704 Fri 27-Dec-24 07:54:19

Good morning everyone from a dark and wet looking Inverness
What a lovely idea Susan a teddy zip wire! I’ve never heard of that before but great fun for the children
Today we’re going for a drive down the side of Loch Ness, we’ll stop off at Urquhart castle for a coffee and then on somewhere else for lunch. There’s always lots of visitors this time of year so I’ll expect it’ll be busy
Hoping all goes ok at the hospital today corner
Safe travels everyone on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Annypop Fri 27-Dec-24 07:58:42

Good morning from County Durham.
Christmas day was lovely, 14 of us around the table, actually three tables which we join together for the occasion. Lot's of preparation beforehand meant we could enjoy the meal without stress. Having everything ready at the same time is always a challenge. Three hot trays this year helped enormously. After all those years have we finally conquered Christmas dinner?
Yesterday was spent getting the house back to normal and just resting. We needed it.
Today we're off to Winter Wonderland at Centreparcs. This time 11. of us will be there including GS1 with his GF for the first time. We normally visit at this time of year when the place is so magical. One year the snow started to fall around us in the forest. The whole place resembled a Christmassy film set, only it was real! You can just imagine the excitement on the younger GC faces, never mind the grown ups.
Wishing all a peaceful day.

RosesandLilac Fri 27-Dec-24 08:03:01

Good morning from south Glos after a very restless night 🙄
Another murky foggy day today I suspect, by yesterday evening it was like something out of a film, very atmospheric on my evening dog walk with the gloom and muffled sounds!
Today I will take the dog to the village for a walk, we’ll go across the fields and down through the woods I think. It’ll be muddy but she will enjoy being off lead.
I will do more embroidery later, I’m so enjoying it!
Having not had a single Christmas present I have bought myself a whole selection of treats online 😄, looking forward to spoiling myself!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from Suffolk where the mist of the last 2 days seems to have cleared. We’ve enjoyed a lovely peaceful Christmas with video calls with the AC ad DGC. Ranging in age from 7-18 their enjoyment of the festive period has varied but all have had a lovely time.

I watched ‘Casablanca’ for the nth time yesterday. We never have the tv on after the morning news until the evening so it felt very indulgent.

December is a busy month here apart from Christmas. DGD4s birthday on the 10th,DGS3s on the 17th and DH’s tomorrow. We are having lunch at our favourite local pub and on Sunday joining DS and his family at a restaurant near them so a weekend without cooking here.

Hope all have had a pleasant 2 days and can relax now and enjoy normality. Thinking of those for whom normality has its difficulties at the moment.

Good morning all, it is 8°C here in Glasgow.

Yesterday, I was very late getting up and was spent resting, until on a whim, I decided to return an item to Sainsbury's. (How many fur coats does a person need?)
While there, I had a lovely chat with a former colleague's children, who have part time jobs in the store.
Then a young man from church called me over, to ask if I wanted any of the food he was reducing. I walked away with a turkey for the princely sum of £3.24!!. It did take some work to squeeze it into the freezer! A turkey is DH's favourite meal, he was delighted!

Today, I am off out to the pharmacy to buy some more Difflan. My mouth is full of ulcers again, the hydrocortisone tables are not helping at all. I am not surprisingly losing weight, I can hardly eat. Every cloud....

A close friend has issued a last minute invite to visit this afternoon. The Ebay Queen and our other friend are also going. My friend always feels obliged to ask the next door MIL, because she will see us all going out together. FIL sits in his chair all day, watching everything that goes on. We can have no secrets, while he is on duty.😉.
My friend hinted at me going next door, to issue the invite. I suggested she do it personally, because the in laws, once again, messed up all our Christmas arrangements. as they do every year.
I am so hurt on my DIL's part and for wee Dollie, who still hasn't seen her grandparents, despite them living next door to us.. How can people behave like that?

I wish you all the best of days. Safe journey to all, who are travelling. Lovely to see you posting Blossoming and hugs for those struggling. 💐

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 27-Dec-24 08:26:35

Good morning everyone from a misty/foggy south Manchester. We have a nice quiet day ahead. I think I’ll add half a shoulder of lamb to a list we need and some sprouts and Himself will nip down into the larder downstairs for them and I’ll cook them for a late lunch. Teamwork. 😁 We’re babysitting at 6pm as its Teacher Mummy’s 44th birthday today and they fancy cocktails then on to a restaurant for a steak dinner.

Gingster Fri 27-Dec-24 08:27:23

Good morning all and it’s murky out there.

Yesterday was a lovely family day at DS1’s. Everyone healthy and happy. 16 of us and 3 dogs. I can’t ask for more.

Dd and family came back here for the evening and tucked into more food. Dgd1 had a message saying she didn’t have to go back to work (Southampton) until Monday so she’s got more time to spend with her family and friends. She needs a break!

Today we’ve all decided not to meet up with our Friday pals. All recovering from the festivities. 😴😵‍💫.

Take care everyone . The lighter days are almost here.

Grandmabatty Fri 27-Dec-24 08:34:17

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. Very low grey skies today. Marydoll I hope the visit passes without incident. It sounds like the in laws look for trouble. Susan what a lovely idea- a teddy zip line. Rosesandlilac I'm aggrieved on your part. Do your family not exchange gifts? Well done on treating yourself.
Yesterday I did very little but watch films on tv and rest my achy hip. I had another Christmas dinner courtesy of dd who had given me loads of leftovers.
Today will be another quiet one. I'm perfectly happy with that and will potter about. Gammon and salad for dinner tonight. Have a good day all

monk08 Fri 27-Dec-24 08:35:33

Good morning all from a still misty Black country it never lifted at all yesterday.
I was joining DS and family on their annual church walk, but looking at the weather and my knee playing up a bit will give it a miss.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and safe travels those on the move. ☀️

Gingster Fri 27-Dec-24 08:36:00

Annypop - we’ve had snow at centre parcs too. Magical -sitting in a hot tub with snow drifting down.

Enjoy your time there.

NannyJan53 Fri 27-Dec-24 08:45:00

Good morning from a very misty Black Country.

Wonderful afternoon and evening at DD's. Lovely food, played games and enjoyed being together. Arranged a family meet up in early January for Mum's 95th birthday!

Today we are off to Bristol to see MrJ's DD's. We will stay in a Hotel overnight, which is about a 10 mins walk from their house. We may go to Glastonbury Saturday, as they want to walk up the Tor. If the weather is rubbish, probably a trip on the train to Bath.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 27-Dec-24 08:51:28

Good morning from a damp and gloomy day in Oxfordshire,

First load of washing is on, 4 more loads to do, thank goodness for the tumble dryer.
A quick clean around and remaking of all the beds and I’m done.
I had some actual books for Christmas and some jigsaws, MrOops is out so I might pop the TV on and watch the stuff I recorded that he won’t watch, so I’ve plenty to choose from.
More leftovers for dinner today so no cooking either.

Have a good day everyone.
