What was your favourite present this year? I got a fantastic new watch from my sons that connects to my phone and does all sorts of interesting things. My husband a rather beautiful thermos cup that stops me needing constant trips to the kettle. I tend to forget to drink a tea while it is hot. Wonderful really.

I love Jaffa - what a cracking gift Gromit

My favourite gift a velvet specs case my daughter saw me admiring in a gift shop when we were away together in November. She’s so thoughtful and kind - blessings being counted

Oh how lie lying, it really is those small thoughtful things that we remember more than diamonds.

I had meant to type lovely. This technology is good but not user friendly.

A beautiful hand-crafted glass vase from my oldest friend, it's really gorgeous.

And a copy of that well-known tuition manual "Parliamo Glasgow", sourced for me by my Scottish BFF - we adore Stanley Baxter, and she searched various second-hand book shops etc. to find this copy for me as we'd been talking about it during one of our Sunday mega-chats. Now that's real friendship!

DH and I just got each other a small gift for Christmas morning as we had been to Iceland beginning of December and treated each other to experiences. I purchased us climbing inside a newly discovered blue ice cave and he for us to go snowmobiling on a glacier. Both were incredible.
Our DD have bought us an “Alcatraz bar” experience in Manchester. Basically it’s an acting experience you can join in with. Dress up in prison gear and you have to smuggle in alcohol to your prison cell and a bootleg gang will make cocktails for you whilst various scenarios are played out which you are free to improvise and join in with. Looks good fun. I’m doing a 60 for 60 list after my birthday in summer so clocking up new experiences along the way

I was given a bird table with feeders which is in my back garden. I can sit at the table and watch all the beautiful birds coming to feed. Already have robins, blue tits and greenfinch coming for breakfast.
Jealous of Jaffa, I used to have a lovely ginger cat called Jaffa, now want a Jaffa giraffe !

My favourite was a hand crocheted Dobby, complete with his sock (Only Harry Potter fans will know what that's about) made by a family member. She taught herself to crochet from You Tube and the result is spot on. I appreciated the time, effort and love she put into this for me and Dobby has a prime spot in my sitting room. I would download a photo if I knew how to do it.

Just having my family altogether on Boxing Day was the best present, it doesn’t happen very often so appreciate it when it happens.

This is Jaffa. I saw him in JL when we were shopping for the dgc before Christmas. I fell in love and DH bought him for me. No flipping idea where he will live but I absolutely adore him.

Oh he is lovely i would def make room for him pride of place!

Just what I wanted this year. From one son a glue gun (for when I’m flower arranging) an electric blanket and from my other son a new handbag big enough to put my everyday things in.
