Good morning from Bristol. Not looked out but feels quite chilly.
Nice to be home! I had a good time at DD’s, saw quite a bit of my own family as DS called from Udaipur on Xmas day.
Iris mostly behaved herself. In “public”, she is a delight, in private, not so much. She is in a lot of pain atm but, goodness, can she really be spiteful to her long-suffering sister. I try to keep well out, but was included in a spat the other night.
I spent a quiet day, unpacking, and watching my much smaller tv,,gift from my offspring. The other one was far too big for my little flat.
Today, I’m serving coffee - if the church has been unlocked; I have been given differing opinions.
In the afternoon, I’ve been invited to join a group of acquaintances to tea at a friend’s.
May today be peaceful and contented for you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🎄

Good morning Mick and all who follow (hopefully not the spammers on this thread…🤬)

Hope everyone had the Christmas they hoped for - all very quiet at PG Towers, merely the sounds of sipping, slurping and munching with the odd sigh and snore 😴 to finish! And wasn’t it mild? We could have eaten on the patio here!🌞

Haven’t bothered with the sales for the first time ever - I’m trying to declutter and only replacing necessaries as and when, although I have some sewing to do and might trot to Dunelm for supplies 🪡 🧵

Will catch up with all your festive doings later…x

grandMattie Sat 28-Dec-24 05:45:14

I’m so sorry, ginny. 🌺🌺

Good morning from a very chilly Crewe!

Condolences to you, ginny. 💐 Very sad news,

We had one of our worst journeys ever yesterday. Having abandoned any plans to use rail travel due to engineering works around Crewe making it inaccessible, we decided to go by car. Our journey of 230 miles (from Torquay) took eight and a half hours! After three hours we had only reached Gordano Services! The problem was the volume of traffic, mostly cars, and the intermittent fog, with only one delay being due to road works.

The main thing is we arrived safely - my eight year old Fiesta Zetec did us proud and I was pleased that my recalcitrant lower limbs co-operated! And the welcome was all the warmer from my DD2, SiL, DGS2 and DGD.

A lazy family day today is welcome when we shall be joined by my DS, his new lady friend and DGS3.

I hope everyone is well and please travel safely, if you do. 🦩☃️🎄🎁🦩

Good morning from s somerset, dull and foggy, all day again

Ginny, sorry for your loss flowers

I did a bit of de-cluttering yesterday, not a lot, not much effort and just one large drawer in my bedroom

I also went through my organic order for next week and I have taken all `treats` off. I still have treats, of course I do but this Christmas I have been very comfortable wearing leggings and tunics or my lovely sweater dresses. They did not fit me last year, this year they look lovely and I like it. I am not missing the over-eating at all

I had the fire on all day yesterday, it is a very calming look and a nice gentle heat. More of the same today and I will be starting the `sought-after` socks I will be knitting for the whole family plus I have a hat to start. I had an aerobic walk yesterday, there will be another this morning, only takes 30 minutes

Have a good day

Bonnybanko Sat 28-Dec-24 06:05:08

Bellasnana Sat 28-Dec-24 06:18:54

Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 19°C and a low of 9°C.

It was a beautiful day yesterday so I went for a long walk and stopped for a coffee on the way back.

I had just put my pj’s on at around 4pm when DD3 arrived with the boys, so a joyous afternoon with them. They were delighted by all my son’s old toy trains and trucks.

This morning I’m meeting a friend for coffee and tonight DD3 and I are going to a concert of Glenn Miller music which should be good.

ginny my heartfelt condolences on the sad loss of your brother.💐

Ashcombe what a journey you had. Glad you made it safely and hope you have a lovely time with your family. Hopefully the return journey will be easier.

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

grandMattie Sat 28-Dec-24 06:23:05

Goodness, Ash, what a journey! Glad you’re now safe with your offspring. 🫂

Grammaretto Sat 28-Dec-24 06:28:27

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Quite still outside.

So sorry ginny to hear your sad news. flowers

I must do some food shopping for when I come home from hospital.
The fridge is full of Christmas leftovers which won't fit the bill.
I have a hair appointment too.

I agree Bonnybanko having the family around lifts the spirits.

I hope everyone has some joy today.

Marydoll Sat 28-Dec-24 06:43:02

Good morning from Glasgow, where it is 8°C.

My condolences Ginny.💐

Babydoll has generously given half the family and extra Christmas present, Norovirus.
They are dropping like flies, so today's brunch at DD's has been cancelled. I came home yesterday, after a fruitless search for Difflam, to find Mr MD quite unwell. I have been up and down all night checking on him. I too feel quite ropey and my painful mouth is compounding my misery!

We decided that it would be best for me to sleep in the spare room, to minimise my chances of catching it. I crawled up to bed, forgetting I had stripped the bed in the spare room, I felt like weeping, for I had no energy to make it up.

Consequently, it will be a quiet day, apart from putting on my Florence Nightingale uniform and ministering to a patient, who doesn't do illness..

Hugs to all, who are struggling. 👐

Greyduster Sat 28-Dec-24 07:14:59

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from chilly South Yorkshire, but ar least the fog seems to have lifted. It’s been like living on the set of The Hound of the Baskervilles recently!
Ginny I’m so sorry for your loss.💐
Well done Ash on your epic drive!
Not much on the cards for me today except a small food shop. DS is coming down tomorrow for an early football match so he will eat with me before he goes home.
Have the best day you can, folks.

luluaugust Sat 28-Dec-24 07:15:42

Good morning from W Kent.
Ginny flowers
Marydoll Hope you don’t catch the family illness
DB went home last night so a day of clearing up and visiting DD’s cat.
Best wishes

Kalu Sat 28-Dec-24 07:19:53

Good morning all. 8deg. Heavy rain and still windy in Glasgow.

No plans for the day and this awful weather doesn’t inspire me to get out of the house as it makes driving very unpleasant too.
An at home day of foutering or possibly visit nearby family, guaranteed to brighten my day. Gosh, I sound like an old misery guts, must do better😁

My condolences ginny💐
Bellasnanna I am now ‘In the Mood’ to listen to some Glenn Miller today. I have a nostalgic 40’s playlist, music of my parents era which I grew up listening to including other genres in the 50s. Enjoy your concert.

Have a pleasant day all and hopefully a brighter day for all coping with illness or worries.

kittylester Sat 28-Dec-24 07:25:31

Morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Condolences, ginny. 💐

We had a lovely day yesterday. Almost everyone (16 of us) here for mince pies, mulled wine and chat.

Today, the last family will go home and we are off to a Neil Diamond tribute night in an hotel. No cooking.

Have the best day possible.

Kalu Sat 28-Dec-24 07:26:09

Oh no Marydoll. I feel your despair. Fingers crossed you don’t catch this virus. You are having such a rotten time of it with your current health issues.

ilovepuffins Sat 28-Dec-24 07:32:32

Good morning. Another grey day in Oxfordshire.
Ginny so sorry thanks
We had a good time going to the Abba show in London yesterday.
Today is just DH and me so a walk, finish up the cold meat etc and maybe a film later on. We love seeing the family but it's also nice to just have a day to ourselves.
Ashcombe hope you can relax now after your long journey
Marydoll hope everyone feels better soon and you don't catch it.
Have a good day everyone

brook2704 Sat 28-Dec-24 07:33:54

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but looks dry
So sorry to hear such sad news ginny sending condolences to all your family 💐
We’ve a house full today, DD2 and the DGC are coming round this morning and staying until tomorrow. They’re bringing all their new board games so it’ll be a busy time but hopefully good fun if they all don’t fall out!
What a journey Ash you both must have been so exhausted
Sorry to hear about all the family being poorly marydoll, hope things improve soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 28-Dec-24 07:47:30

Good morning from another dull day in our part of Oxfordshire.

Thank goodness for an Automatic washing machine and a tumble dryer I spent all day and most of the evening emptying one and filling the other, all done now thank goodness.

Small shopping delivery later today, with ‘normal’ stuff for a change after all the Christmas bits and pieces.

Ginny condolences 💐

Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, sending virtual hugs to you all.

Redcar Sat 28-Dec-24 07:47:56

Good morning from mid Essex where it’s beginning to get light. It’s grey, misty and cold here again. Despite being back in my own bed, I didn’t sleep well until 2 o’clock, then I slept until 7, so not too bad. I’m quite achy after yesterday’s exercise, how I wish I had a loo downstairs! I’ll just unpack my clothes and put them away today, maybe iron a few of the most creased.
ginny, so sorry to read your sad news.
ash what a marathon journey!
marydoll I hope that you don’t catch the family illness and that you have a better day today. Little children are so generous with their germs!
It’s DD2’s birthday, she’s 45. I don’t think she has anything exciting planned for the day, hopefully her OH and the children have made her a cake!
Have the best day possible everyone, may we all find some 🌞

Georgesgran Sat 28-Dec-24 07:55:19

Good mornnng from an overcast, breezy Durham, forecast to feel around 3degrees.
Nothing much planned today other than another bag of DD2’s laundry and a bit of housework.
💐ginny on your bereavement
MD it never rains …….? Hope you don’t catch it, my Cheshire friends are passing it around down there.

Best wishes to all. X

RosesandLilac Sat 28-Dec-24 07:58:19

Good morning everyone from south Glos where the fog’s actually lifted after four days of gloomy, dank weather.
I’m so sorry Ginny about your brother 💐
We had a muddy dog walk yesterday, I enjoyed being outside and getting some exercise different from our usual walk.
Today housework and washing after the walk with dog, then who knows?
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Jaxjacky Sat 28-Dec-24 07:59:52

Morning from a grey S Hants, 4, but we’ve escaped any fog so far.
I’m so sorry ginny 🌹
Horrendous journey Ashcombe enjoy your time away.
Getting back to normal(ish) now, pub last night exchanging Christmas ups and downs with friends, I wore my new jumper. Cottage pie tonight with lots of veg, out for a walk beforehand.
