Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Ginny 🌹

Son and daughter went back to London yesterday. I will have a quiet day apart from making soup from the turkey and pheasant stock I made yesterday.

OH will visit his bees. He is a little worried about one of his hives so will take a wodge of fondant along for them.

Have a good day.

harrigran Sat 28-Dec-24 08:00:23

Good morning from a damp NE where it is 4 degrees.
Yesterday I did nothing except watch TV and did crosswords. The first film that came up on Netflix was The six triple eight, a true story that I had no knowledge of, a war story with a difference. It was interesting.
Today will be another quiet day, family are busy as eldest GD is returning to her student accommodation tomorrow to spend new year with her friends.
Sorry to hear your sad news ginny 💐
Safe journeys all those travelling.

Good morning from grey dull misty Cambridgeshire.

ginny 🌺
MD hope you don’t catch it

DH is still in the sick bay now has antibiotics and steroids for a chest infection and asthma. It was amazingly easy to get a GP appt yesterday!! The duty dr DH saw said she had a very full list to see all chest problems a terrible respiratory bug going around infecting the young and old ..

I will go out for a walk today as seem to have been housebound for days. It feels like the quiet before the storm somehow😂 Bit of an in limbo time with no plans.

Wishing a peaceful happy healthy day to all

Good morning from a misty Suffolk. So sorry Ginny to read about the loss of your brothe

We are t for a birthday lunch for DH who will no doubt field phone calls from the AC and DGC at different times during the day. We only have a drive of 5 miles to our favourite pub which is good given the weather.

Hope those with longer journeys find the traffic easier than Ash did yesterday and those unwell find some ease from symptoms.

Sorry to hear about your mum Susan what an awful wait for an ambulance! I hope things aren’t too bad and she recovers as quickly as she possibly can 💐

Good morning everyone from a very grey, damp and misty Northampton, 0° outside, back home now from DD's after a lovely Christmas. The cats are expected back today at some time, but I have no idea when. I suppose I had better shower and dress, but sod's law that is when they appear!

I have some new 'lounging pyjamas' from DD for Christmas, so will probably.spend the day in those. I will not be at my rugby home match as I have a rotten cold and cough; will sit at home in the warm and watch it on tv.

Plans are to make a hotpot in the slow cooker, giving me meals for today and tomorrow and some for the freezer. Will be nice to be back to 'normal' food!

So sorry for your loss ginny.

Wishing all a good Saturday.

Marydoll I do hope you manage to avoid catching it, they do say grandchildren are the gift that keep on giving.
Had a nice surprise yesterday had bought a lucky dip for the lottery and it was lucky, a nice little amount.
Meeting friends later at the club.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later usual full English calling.
Enjoy your day everyone and safe travels those on the move.☀️

Good morning all and it’s still Misty and very damp here in Essex.

Today Dd and little DGD are coming over and we’ll pop on the train to Southend and go to see Mufasa at the cinema. Easier than driving and parking.

Made Turkey rissoles yesterday which were rather dry. I’ve sliced and frozen the rest of the Turkey and will use in it pies /pasta etc. I hate waste but Turkey doesn’t really inspire me.🦃.

So sorry to hear your sad news Ginny. Sincere condolences.
Oh no Marydoll. What a rough time you’re having. I hope you don’t catch it. 🙏.

Take care all and I hope your journey home will be better Ash. 🤞

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we’ve not long been up. ‘Bugs in rugs are us.’ Alexa tells me it’s 2°C and will be 6°C and cloudy today.

A nice day ahead for us. We will be spending most of it in the Loungers bar below us so no matter the weather! Brunch with the two brothers of Himself and their lovely wives. Back up for a couple of hours, books and tv at hand then back down late afternoon to enjoy mulled wine with Teacher Mummy, our son in law and L’il Miss. The Boy Wonder may have other plans this afternoon, we’ll see.

Good morning all from Severnside. It’s damp out. Looks like the bin men have been but I didn’t hear them.

Condolences ginny on the loss of your brother.

I’ll do some tidying today and eat leftovers. I can probably fill the washing machine as well.

I had a very nice chat with my overseas family yesterday. I had earlier been feeling gloomy with something on my mind and they cheered me up no end.

Cuppa number two needs to be made 🫖

Grandmabatty Sat 28-Dec-24 09:11:49

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and looks gloomy and wet. Ginny my condolences to you. Susan I hope matters are resolved and your mum is being taken care of. That's an awfully long wait for an ambulance. Ash what a journey! Grammaretto* good luck with your operation. Marydoll small people and viruses! I hope everyone is recovering and you don't catch it.
Yesterday I picked up dd to take her to the other grandparents house where the boys and her car were. Dsil isn't well with a flu bug. Then they came to my house for a quick visit.
Today I'm doing nothing during the day but going to a friend's house tonight. It's an annual catch up with former colleagues. I'm not looking forward to it although I'm sure I'll enjoy myself once there. Dd is taking me and a friend and I will share a taxi home. Have a good day all.

Morning Mick, morning All from a misty corner of Somerset

Yesterday didn’t quite go to plan after 90 exhausting minutes with a Registrar. She was very kind and very thorough, a full physical examination and so many questions. Thankfully I had my trusty list of what happened when. She commented I have an unusual presentation. Now there’s a surprise! There will be a call with a date for a beyond my understanding blood test once she knows when a particular lab can process it. Oh well, it’s all back on it’s shelf for now and on I go regardless. Although I’d hoped for a diagnosis or st least ruling out lupus I’m grateful for the thoroughness.

Too misty and damp for a walk it was a restorative coffee before very good fish and chips in a garden centre, grocery shopping on the way home. We were both shattered so why did I struggle to sleep last night?

Quiet one today, I plan to begin shrinking over 55 years of photos, need some new albums which of course I forgot yesterday.

I’m so sorry ginny, sad news indeed.

Goodness ash what a journey. Our former daughter in law was doing your journey in reverse, hope she managed as she was pretty tired when she set out.

That’s not good marydoll. Nasty virus, 🤞 you avoid it or should I say it avoids you.

You must be worried susan, more 🤞 for good news.

So many poorly people. My thoughts are with you all. Safe travels those on the move. Have the best day you can everyone.

Harris27 Sat 28-Dec-24 09:41:03

So sorry ginny. Had quiet day yesterday had a lovely day at barter books in Northumberland our favourite haunt. Excellent restaurant too. Just chilling today might venture out later. Speaking to sis in Australia soon seeing how her holiday is going. She’s visiting family. Quiet weekend planned.

Mick I really appreciate your starting this thread , I’ve lost track of the days , but your header reminds me
Lazy day yesterday, I managed to get most of the black off the pressure cooker after it boiling dry , baking soda, vinegar and a dollop of washing up stuff, plus a lot of elbow grease!
Eldest is due to visit from Monday , his birthday is 4th Jan so we will celebrate. His sister will organise !

Good morning from Dunblane, where it is dull, wet and cold.
Our car is not working despite calling out breakdown help and buying a new battery. Our local garage is closed until 6/1/25!
I can't walk far and DH's knees are ropey. His plan is to get the bus to Stirling today for some groceries and that will be a struggle for him as he has to walk the dog too.
We are also still suffering the effects of a flulike bug we've had for weeks and seriously horrible cough and lack of energy. Everyone seems to be dropping like flies around here with it! Bring on Spring!
Love to all who are struggling and special thoughts to Ginny flowers

GrannySomerset Sat 28-Dec-24 10:01:51

Late up but visitors still abed - not the result of riotous partying yesterday, I promise! Not sure what the plans are for today but DD is doing supper and will doubtless find I don’t have various items she deems essential so a quick shop is likely. They are off tomorrow so must make the most of having them here and enjoy the company.

Jaxjacky Sat 28-Dec-24 10:48:51

yogitree can you go online and get a delivery, that would be easier?
I hope your Mum has been seen now Susan a dreadful wait.

Ashcombe We were on the other side of the Motorway, going back to the South West, saw the long tailbacks, we could see that your journey was a nightmare.
