Meghan’s launching a new lifestyle show on Netflix.

I won’t be watching as we don’t have Netflix.

The cake she was putting the finishing touches to looked delicious.

Why shouldn’t she Goid luck to her

Why shouldn’t she Goid luck to her

No reason at all.

If I had Netflix, I would probably watch it.

It's not filmed in Meghan's home though seemingly advertised as such. She has rented a house up the road and it's being filmed there apparently.

I shall take a look just to see what everyone's talking about, but am not personally interested.

Same content........different presenter.

MissAdventure Fri 03-Jan-25 09:32:38

Good for her.
Working, bringing up her children, and still looks fabulous.

Pathetic. This woman will do anything to get into the spotlight.

Not a patch on Mary Berry, in looks and decorum, and who actually knowsabout cooking.

Is this what you say about Mary Berry when she appears in a TV programme? - "Pathetic. This woman will do anything to get into the spotlight."

She’s monetising her celebrity for the USA audience. Fair play to her. If people are interested she’ll be quids in. I’ve got Netflix but to be honest won’t be tuning on on 16th January. Wouldn’t interest me - whoever the presenter.

Strange title name for the show.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 09:59:39

Mary Berry cooks, doesn’t keep bees, prance around gardens and hugs anyone she can get her hands

Sparklefizz Fri 03-Jan-25 10:00:27

I've seen lots of trailers and photographs online. Has she never heard of hygiene while cooking? (all that long straggly hair hanging over the food)

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 03-Jan-25 10:00:52

“A trailer offers viewers a glimpse of what to expect, with the giggling Duchess “embracing playfulness over perfection”. She is filmed rustling up a variety of dishes in the kitchen while entertaining famous friends such as Daniel Martin, her make-up artist, and Abigail Spencer, her Suits co-star. The Duke of Sussex makes a fleeting appearance.

The Duchess makes hummus, serves drinks and collects honey from a beehive, to the soundtrack of The Lovin’ Spoonful’s Do You Believe in Magic.“

(I bet it’s a feast for UK eyes though - Californian sunshine, a beautiful set).

The cake looked lovely - does she actually make it or just decorate it? The houmus looked interesting too.

We don't have Netflix so I'll probably never find out.

Who was looking after the children? Mine would have been wanting to lick the bowl, pinch a strawberry, saying yuk to the houmus.

It's more of a lifestyle programme, I think, for women who have lots of time and money. All very lovely.

With the help of Harry’s inherited millions and previous handouts from the Duchy of Cornwall.

Working??

Witzend Fri 03-Jan-25 10:07:45

TBH it’s about the last thing I’d be shelling out to Netflix for.

Allira Fri 03-Jan-25 10:10:55

I wondered why she did not embark on something like this and Harry concentrate on his Invictus Games or whatever when they first emigrated instead of spending all that time in such a bitter trashing of both their families which has caused so much angst.

Had they done this they would probably still be popular instead of disliked by so many people.

MissAdventure Fri 03-Jan-25 10:15:51

Didn't you all work with the help and cooperation of your husbands?
I'm pretty sure being part of a couple means you support each other, financially and otherwise.

You may as well say Katherine looks great "with the help of William's money and connections"

escaped Fri 03-Jan-25 10:16:35

That's a good point, Allira.
She didn't seem to have a working plan after royal life, so took the wrong route to fame.
I believe she has always had a genuine interest in food, so maybe this venture will satisfy her needs?

J52 Fri 03-Jan-25 10:18:27

Like many of us on here, I can make a delicious cake, decorate, run an efficient household and have fun times with family and friends. Why on earth would I want to watch someone telling me how to do it?

merlotgran Fri 03-Jan-25 10:20:46

I will probably watch it as I like lifestyle programmes with a bit of glam!

We’re a critical lot in the UK when it comes to baking. I’d love Paul Hollywood to appear from behind the floaty drapes and comment on the wonky cake.

MissAdventure Fri 03-Jan-25 10:20:46

Why are people singing Mary Berrys praises then?
Surely you can all do what she does, too?

Calendargirl Fri 03-Jan-25 10:20:59

all that long straggly hair hanging over the food

That’s not just Meghan though.

I watched a programme about M&S before Christmas, a woman who obviously trialled new products was shown making a luxury Yule log, her long hair was not tied back at all.

No one seems to bother about hair nowadays, the male chefs can be just as bad, with equally messy locks.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 10:21:44

Was it her interest in food which caused a divorce from her first husband and moving in with a celebrity chef
