Irrational dislikes of people you don’t know..

Can’t agree about Luke Littler.

I was pleased when he won the darts, for a young man he comes across as quite humble, unassuming, level headed…..

I hope he continues to be successful, and remain as sensible and unspoiled as he seems to be.

Bet his mum is so proud.

Grandma70s I am so with you on Sarah Moore, I just cannot watch Money for Nothing solely because of her, ridiculous I know. I actually have a very long list of people I cannot bear to listen to on TV, way too many to mention, but Lorraine Kelly probably tops that list. My dh's top dislike is George Clarke and his various home improvement programmes.

I cannot watch James Nesbitt. I have the same reaction as when the news is doing dentists & show someone having their teeth drilled - I feel panicky & have to look away. No idea why.

I’ve always had an irrational dislike of Greg Wallace. I now know why!

Jimmy Carr, Sarah Millican, Elaine Paige. The one who really set my teeth on edge though was the late millionaire Paul Daniels.

George Alagiah. I had to google it. I really liked him too, so tragic when he died.

We'd all love to be Jolly Nice People who are never judgemental, no matter what, but I don't think it's in human nature to be so saintly! I get irritated by untalented people being given presenting jobs on TV. So does DH, especially when presenters display jaw-dropping ignorance about something they're paid big bucks to yak about., Example: when Petroc Trelawny once referred to the cellist Yo Yo Ma as "she", the air in our house turned a ravishing shade of blue! DH still snorts and groans every time he hears PT's name! It's probably quite normal to "take agin" the odd person now and again and, if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it.

I can't stand Lorraine Kelly, either.

My lecturer at University told a story about how very rude a certain celebrity-type person was to her students at 'Chelsea.' When they asked them to move a little so they could finish their display!!! 😶

I can't stand Mark Wright or Scarlett Moffat. Maybe because they are both celebrities with no discernible talent and both come across as smug and self satisfied. I have only ever seen them on television so my dislike is probably irrational.

I am positively allergic to Jim Davidson whose act I saw live many years ago.

I have irrational affection for David Mitchell and Victoria Coran Mitchell. Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc. This is entirely based on seeing them on TV, except Mel who I saw live on stage and she was brilliant.

There are lots of people I don't like, but some are

Davis Walliams (smutty and creepy)
Lenny Henry (unfunny and loud)
Joanna Lumley (that voice)
Michael McIntyre (his voice and floppy hair)
Dawn French (unfunny and that fixed grin)
Amanda Holden (fake)

Just cannot take to David Walliams something about him makes me uneasy or Jimmy Carr something about his eery motionless face, Vanessa Feltz too loud and raucous or Megan Markle I just dislike manipulative liars

But I do like Cillian Murphy he comes across as a socially aware deep thinker and is very talented, Lucy Worsley brings history to life and seems like a very nice person, Mary Berry seems very relatable and approachable and Princess Catherine she seems like an all round good egg and nice person.

Sadly, though I try not too, I do it all the time!

I totally and irrationally dislike Anthea Redfern, Eamonn Holmes, a woman on a disabled equipment advert, a woman who works in our local co-op and our children’s old school senior pupil services woman!!

Mad isn’t it!

But I also like or are drawn to others for no real reason either.

Also dislike Charlie Stayt and Mary Berry for no good reason.

Davina McCall, Paddy McGuiness, Helen Mirren, Amanda Holden and the female presenter on our local news programme! Also had an irrational hatred of Ian Botham. DH can't stand James Cordon and David Attenborough.

Mary Berry!!!! But she is like a lamb compared to some of circus of prize horrors we've mentioned so far. 🤭
