Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 1°C, with no frost.
I have coughed half the night, so at 6am I was downstairs getting two painkillers, a hot water bottle for my hip and a cuppa. Now back in bed and scrolling through GN.
Despite my plans for a quiet day yesterday, it did not go to plan.
I usually get dressed first, before having breakfast, but couldn't be bothered.
Just as I settled myself with the papers, breakfast and Saturday Kitchen, DD and SIL arrived, complete with a box of cakes! They had just ordered a new bathroom and DD was so excited at the prospect of having a bath installed!
Not long after they eventually left, just as I was having lunch, DS2, DIL and a very distressed Babydoll arrived, with more cakes!.
She was fighting so hard not to fall asleep, but hadn't slept all night and was so cross. Poor DS and DIL were exhausted.
What do you do when you need a break, you visit Gran &Papa and let them take over. 🤣
Her daddy was exactly the same, rarely slept, until he started school.
It was a pleasant, if somewhat noisy surprise, for we weren't expecting so see them.
When Baby woke up, she saw me eating the cake, DD had brought me, I must have got about two crumbs of it. No greater love hath a gran than to give up her much anticipated fondant fancy!
My trio of best girls was complete, when we saw Dollie and her parents at the Vigil Mass. She had been stroppy with her parents and spent the whole of Mass snuggled into my fur coat. 🤣
Today, I need to go down to Church and do a bit of catching up with people and some jobs, which haven't been done, due to me going ill.
I hope it is warmer than last night. Despite the heating being on and also the extra wall heaters, it was freezing.
Grammaretto, rest that hip and GG, enjoy your show.
Have a pleasant Sunday, everyone.
I need to raid the freezer for Sunday lunch. We usually have a roast or steak, but I still have no appetite, nor inclination to cook. 🙁
