Anyone remember this song?

It's a pop song from the sixties or early seventies, and I can't remember who sang it! I've googled the lyrics and found nothing, it wasn't a big hit, I guess. Think it's called I Know.
"I know
Whatever I could do, I've done,
Hoping to love you so no o-o-one
Could say I haven't really tri-i- ied.
I know
I'll always love you til the end
It's no use trying to pretend
I'm still in love with you,
I'm STILL in love with you
I'm still in love with you......"

Anyone recognise it!?

Clawdy, try emailing Boom Radio (details are online.) They are brilliant at rooting out songs from lyrics and if they don't know it they ask their listeners if anyone remembers it! They nearly always come up trumps...

The Calum Scott one is different lyrics, though.
Love that Badfinger link, but that's different lyrics too!

Yahmeus Thu 16-Jan-25 13:03:06

Pete Ham sang the original version in 1970.

I don't think this is the same song that OP meant? The lyrics are very different.

growstuff

I think it was originally sung by Badfinger.

Calum Scott's No Matter what is a different song to Badfinger's song

Babs03 Thu 16-Jan-25 14:37:32

The lyrics are not the same though.
Tbh the lyrics the OP gave sound familiar.
Am also curious to know about it now.

Clawdy Thu 16-Jan-25 14:53:28

Yes, No Matter What is a completely different song, I'm afraid.

mrsjonesy Thu 16-Jan-25 21:37:20

I thought it might be Al Green, I'm still in love with you, but the lyrics don't fit. Ah well, a beautiful song anyway

This is lovely, even if it's not the one.

Can you provide some pointers please? Was it a band or male or female solo artist? British/American/Other? Genre? Instruments? Fast or slow tempo? How did you become familar with it? Radio or live music?

There have been many songs with that title. I've checked all that I can think or and find. The archive SecondhandSongs is useful for this kind of thing but none have those lyrics. Could it have had a different title?

Clawdy Fri 17-Jan-25 09:17:32

I know it's weird, but the song is in my head without me knowing who sang it! Definitely sixties or early seventies, pretty sure it's a male singer like Gerry Marsden or Billy J Kramer, but not certain. Maybe it was the B side to a single record . I've googled several websites with no luck. Too many songs called 'I Know" !

FlitterMouse Fri 17-Jan-25 10:07:35

Billy J Kramer did sing a song called I Know but it doesn't have the same lyrics:

It was the B side of I'll Keep You Satisfied.

Clawdy Fri 17-Jan-25 13:58:43

Yes, I think I looked at that one . Ah well, time to move on! More important things to stress about! grin

Babs03 Fri 17-Jan-25 14:01:21

But now I need to know??!!
🤪
