Good morning from s somerset, dull overcast damp and foggy all of today and beyond

Same weather as yesterday, a dd only 45 miles away had sunny bright weather all day and it was gloomy here. Good job I can keep myself happily occupied. I am wanting to work on my plot but will stay at home instead

I have downloaded a healthy waffle recipe, will be making some waffles today, to freeze. Knitting my jumper and generally just pottering with a tidy-up here and there. Perhaps I will finally watch mrs Harris goes to Paris.

Have a good day

Good morning from a foggy Bristol. The sun will burn most of it off after the usual deepening before dawn. I have noticed that, if the cloud cover isn’t too thick, that the days are getting longer. Yay!
I had a quiet day, nursing my operated eye yesterday. I didn’t stay too long at the FAB cafe after helping set it up. This was as much to avoid doing anything, as to avoid one lady; she tends to be rather aggressive and monopolises anything in conversation.
I finished a woolly hat and started another.
I’m going to have another quiet day. I’m going to try and buy some fabric from my friendly haberdasher in Sandwich, if not I’ll go to town and try another fabric shop. It’s very expensive though.
I shan’t go to dinner at DD’s as I still feel a bit wobbly.
I’m going to take things very easy for the next 4 weeks and nurse my new, miraculous sight!
All the best to all you lovely peeps. Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning all from lovely North Wales where another day of 🌞 is promised, so good to have lighter evenings too!

Continuing decluttering at PG Towers as we convert the spare room back into a proper bedroom instead of the dumpster! The sofa bed is being replaced with a double 🛏️ which will be made up in white and navy replete with curtains, cushions and throws in an attempt to keep the room immaculate…🤨. A home for everything etc.

The above means that visits today to Dunelm, The Range and TKMaxx will be enjoyed endured…ah, well 😉

May you all have lovely weather and something to smile about x

Pantglas2 Thu 16-Jan-25 05:56:56

Oh, forgot your op grandMattie! 💐 easy does it eh?

kittylester Thu 16-Jan-25 06:21:36

Good morning all from an, apparently, foggy North Leicestershire.

Up early as DH has a hospital appointment at 9 am at a hospital in the south of the county.

Collecting some grandchildren up from school this afternoon.

Bellasnana Thu 16-Jan-25 06:31:26

Good morning from Malta where it looks brighter outside after yesterday’s rainy day.

Went to see the boys yesterday, both were not in the best of moods. Possibly brewing the bad cold which has kept DD3 off work this week.

No plans for today apart from watching tennis. I went to Lidl yesterday so have stocked up on necessities.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Greyduster Thu 16-Jan-25 06:37:11

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very cold South Yorkshire - a hard frost on the ground. While I was out yesterday, I bought myself a diary - rather late in the day, I know. So then I had fourteen days where, being out of my usual routine due to the weather, I couldn’t remember what I’d been doing, so I found myself back trawling over all the good morning threads to bring the new diary up to date. So thankyou, Mick for our lovely thread!
Writers group was very jolly yesterday - a new lady sat in with us. It got rather lively. A gentleman on his way out of the library stopped and thanked us for entertaining him!😳
Supposed to be walking this morning but the weather is not conducive to an early start and I’m worried about the conditions underfoot. It’s not even light yet so we’ll see.
Have the best day you can folks.

RosesandLilac Thu 16-Jan-25 06:44:22

Good morning from a very dank and foggy hillside in south Glos. The fog lifted by early afternoon yesterday so hopefully the same today.
I need to sort out my packing for tomorrow when I’m going to a Creative Embroidery weekend in Stroud, very much looking forward to it. It’s not far from here so I intend to have a wander around the town before heading to the venue.
The usual early dog walk first thing, I do enjoy getting out first thing, it sets me up nicely for the day.
Wishing you all a good day 🌹

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

I had a busy morning yesterday with admin and housework. The afternoon was lovely. The conservatory was the perfect temperature. It was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun while reading one of my new books.

The forecast is the same today so more of the same.DH will paint the woodwork in the hall, stairs and landing today after spending yesterday sanding and preparing.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

GrannyGravy13 Thu 16-Jan-25 06:55:08

Morning everyone it’s still dark so no weather report.

Will cook the 9yr old his breakfast soon, and get him to school for 8am.

Cleaning fairies are here first thing, then I have to go to Chelmsford, things to take back, birthday gifts to buy and no doubt a coffee and pastry in John Lewis.

Take things easy grandMattie

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a chilly but not icy Sarthe.

I’m glad that you’re seeing an improvement in your eyesight, grandMattie and I’m sure it’s wise to take things steadily as you recover.

Yesterday it was foggy here but, undaunted, we set off for a social gathering for (mostly) expats in Le Mans, organised by a younger lady whom, bizarrely, I’ve met recently at our Little Theatre in Torquay when she sang in a fund raising concert!

Unfortunately, a nasty accident on our route meant a lengthy detour but luckily DH knew the way.

About a dozen attended and it proved to be a most convivial occasion. DH was concerned about my ability to cope with the walk from where he parked to the bar but I managed quite well, I’m glad to say. Ibuprofen gel, paracetamol and braces are my friends plus my trusty stick!!

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from 3 degrees Cambridgeshire. I slept over at DD2 to look after the little ones and it was a quiet night. The littlest just woken and has come in with all his cuddley toys. Big sister still sleeping. It will be all go shortly getting ready for the school run.

Greyduster I had to smile at your text when I was young library’s were very silent places with our fierce librarian shushing everyone. Now they are very lively places how times change😂

Have a good day everyone

brook2704 Thu 16-Jan-25 07:06:55

Good morning everyone from Spain where it’s a beautiful sunrise with clear skies and forecast to be another lovely day
Good idea to take it easy for a while gMattie whilst your eye recovers, pleased the operation has gone so well
We’re doing lots of flat easy walking whilst we’re here, you can walk for miles along the promenade just stopping at a beachside cafe when ready. More of the same today, we enjoy just sitting chatting and watching the world go by and the day passes quickly. Yesterday we also wandered around the old town which is very pretty with lots of flowers even at this time of year.
Enjoy your weekend away roses the creative embroidery sounds interesting
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Thu 16-Jan-25 07:17:42

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 6°C.
Yesterday was glorious, I hope today is similar. Our solar lights were all lit up for the first time in ages.

Between coughing and the pain in my hip, I have slept very badly. Babydoll is en route, here's hoping that she is in a cooperative mood. I am shattered!

If I can summon up the energy, we will walk round to the farm and see the cows and horses. Due to her penchant for either trying to run through gardens or plonk herself in the middle of the road, she will be constrained in her pram. 😂 Reins are a waste of time.
Tonight is the former PP's mass and presentation. Getting Baby home, having dinner and going to church is not possible. I have almost persuaded DH to take her home alone, but he gets very flustered in the rush hour traffic.
If DS comes for her here, I would need to give her dinner, which would mean, me being late. Either way, I will be rushed.

Enjoy all the outings and busyness and I hope the medical appointments go well.
TAKE IT EASY GM. That is an order.

Enjoy your day folks.

Jaxjacky Thu 16-Jan-25 07:21:55

Chair yoga yesterday, stretch class this morning, then bedding to wash.
The bin men have just taken garden rubbish and the Christmas tree, at the same time my friend on holiday in Thailand text me, cue to get up.
Have a pleasant day all

Good morning from a dark W Kent. Another busy day as I have a hospital appointment for a hearing test. It is quite a drive so we shall set off in good time. I am interested to see what change has taken place in 21/2 years.
I expect we will need a quiet afternoon.
Best wishes to all

cornergran Thu 16-Jan-25 07:33:17

Morning Mick, morning All from a foggy corner of Somerset.

Hoping to see some sun by lunch time, yesterday afternoon was glorious. A quiet one ahead in contrast to yesterday which was full of chat. I’ll take it slowly as it’s not been a positive week for sleep. Hoping for a better night as we’re off early tomorrow, a coach day trip, an early birthday gift for Mr C.

Pleased all went well for you grandmattie, you’re wise to take things gently.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Redcar Thu 16-Jan-25 07:33:50

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s still dark. 7 degrees and damp out. Yesterday it was cloudy and gloomy all day, but I went out for a walk anyway. Had a catch up with some friends walking their dogs. Did some ironing and my exercises.
Not sure what I’ll do today, may move some dust about, and need to clear some surfaces to make the house look a bit tidier.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Thu 16-Jan-25 07:35:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Hoping for a dry day.

I have a hospital appointment this afternoon at Livingston. It's an assessment for my 2nd cataract. The eye hospital in Edinburgh is closed for refurbishment so patients are being sent far and wide.
My df is driving me. I hope we find it.

I'm glad to hear yours was so
successful gMattie Take it easy!

What a coincidence Ash to meet the singer in France.

Your holiday sounds wonderful brook

A couple of good video calls yesterday. I watched my DGC getting off the school bus, looking exhausted.
They waved to me. Isn't technology amazing.

Yarn group was a tonic as ever. I even did some knitting. 😅

I hope everyone has a good day.

grandMattie Thu 16-Jan-25 07:38:58

You’re a fine one to tell me to take things easy, MD!!! What’s sauce for the goose…. 🤣

Georgesgran Thu 16-Jan-25 07:40:54

Good morning from Durham. Currently cold, but lots of sun is forecast.

Did anyone see moonrise last night? It was spectacular here - enormous and orange.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then walking DD2’s Little Dog later. I’ve her laundry to do, then both will go back to her this evening.

The chap who laid my patio is hoping to call to see some damage caused by the recent ice and snow.

Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 16-Jan-25 07:45:00

A quick morning all from West Oxfordshire.

OH and I are off to London shortly. He wants to see the Van Gogh exhibition at the National Gallery. It is fully booked but I’m a member so can just stroll in - hopefully!

Last night’s WI meeting was a hoot. We had a demonstration of Circus Skills - and joined in.

Have a good day.

harrigran Thu 16-Jan-25 07:54:17

Good morning from a dry NE where there is still bright Moonlight.
Shopping did not go as well as expected, I stocked up on cards for all occasions but realised when I got home that I had got some of the age cards wrong.
I did not find a suitcase that I liked either so that will need further research.
After dinner we looked at holiday cottages and SIL found one on a lochside in Scotland which suited all our needs. He booked it there and then so I now have two holidays to look forward to.
Quiet day today with some admin and reading.
Have a good day.

monk08 Thu 16-Jan-25 07:58:04

Good morning all from a frosty Black country, such a change from yesterday where it was sunny all day.
Well I arrived at playgroup to find police forensics another break in at the church, this is the second in 3mths, the last time playgroups money float and biscuits were taken. This time the vicars office ransacked.
DH has an appointment for his bloods today and I have a telephone appointment regarding my blood results this afternoon.
Marydoll some of our solar lights were still on at 7am this morning.
Have a good day everyone ☀️
