Good morning from N.Bucks . Another gloomy day weather wise.

We are off to see DD1 and SIL today. We are taking lunch as they are in the middle of refurbishing their kitchen. Will also give any help required.
Later , I must gather all the supplies for tomorrow’s craft club. My turn to lead the project.

Good morning all. A thick fog over this part of the Angus coast is just beginning to lift and there seems to be a patch of blue waiting to replace it. It feels very chilly but that's probably the damp
Had a lovely afternoon and evening with DGD3 yesterday, and the furniture was duly changed around - no problem at all. Our 'reward' meal was good too so we were happy little bunnies.
This morning is tai chi followed by a grocery shop and then I shall come back and snuggle down to read all the posts - I can feel myself relaxing into that already!

Good morning from a misty Suffolk. The bulbs seem to have shot up since the frosty mornings stopped and I hope we’ll have a wonderful display of snowdrops.

I’m off for my annual optician’s appointment this morning and on my return home I fear I can no longer ignore the large pile of ironing.

Dentist trip went ok the chipped tooth has been repaired, he took some xrays compared them to some taken 10yrs ago and commented very little change.
DH wants to go to the deli at the garden centre today so I think a piece of cake may find it's way to me along with a cuppa.

I enjoyed a visit from my DSiL and DBiL. DH's siblings
I had made soup and bought some
delicious vegan cakes for her.
We popped open the prosecco and watched several home movies which DS3 had got transferred onto computer for ease of viewing and sharing.

I'm cross on your neighbour's behalf gMattie. Why is it so hard to get the management to deal with these things!
Do you belong to U3A? I could be doing something every day if I wanted to.

I got a shock when I went to church yesterday and found the other sacristan on duty for the funeral. He had received a message from my friend, asking him to cover, because my friend was ill. I messaged him, only to find that he was in Coronary Care in our local hospital, a place I know very well!
It really upset me, this man is very fit and cycles everywhere and looks after his chronically ill wife.She depends on him so much to take her to her many hospital appointments, sometimes as far away as Edinburgh. Why is life so hard for some people?

A big thank you to one of the Glesca Grans, who messaged me with a solution to the velour sewing problem. It worked!

I am seriously considering buying a Ninja 14 in 1 oven, which has a pizza making facility, but can't quite make up my mind.
I have a Ninja 14 in 1 foodie, which is in constant use, but using the ovens in my range is becoming problematic. I struggle to get items out of the oven and either drop them/ burn myself or both!
Thank you to the poster, who PMd me with suggestions.

A few essentials are required today, so I will see if DD wants to meet me for a coffee. She is not a shopper, so I will get that out of the way prior to meeting her.

Good morning and the fog is lifting and there’s a hint of sun in the sky. Yes Redcar that sunset was beautiful last evening.

I picked youngest DGD up from school yesterday and stayed to see one twin gs for a hug and a chat. I don’t see much of them these days as they are both working or out enjoying themselves.

Today I have Bridge club this afternoon and someone will bring cake which always fortifies us for the second half.

We watched Donald and I was mighty impressed! Whatever we may think of him , he’s a great speaker . Elon Musk? 🙄.

Another cold and grey morning but it’s another January day to tick off so normal service will be resumed soon. To add to my blues I have woken up with a painful ankle for absolutely no reason and am limping around; fortunately I have no plans for today other than keeping Wonderful Cleaner happy, but it’s yet another nuisance. Good thing I had a very happy and busy day yesterday!

Good morning from 3 degrees Cambridgeshire where it appears to be a much brighter day emerging through the clouds.

Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely walk through the woods and gardens of a local NT property. We bumped into an elderly gentleman walking well with a stick and stopped to chat. He told us he walks different NT properties most days to keep himself fit. He revealed he was 90+. He really was an inspiration.

Today we plan to meet up with a couple of friend's for lunch in a little village pub. He is the son of my mum’s best (lifelong) friend and we meet up every few months. We used to enjoy lots of family time together as children. Lots of happy memories over many years to share.

It will then be school pick up and lots of cuddles and two tired children I suspect as Tuesday they go to the childminder early before school.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but sunny spells are forecast which will be good for our group walk this afternoon.

Have jumped straight to posting this morning as I am so late, will go back and read all your news later.

A successful visit to the dressmaker yesterday; she seems lovely. Tried my dress on (can still get into it thank goodness!), and it needs taking up by 5 inches - the disadvantages of being vertically challenged! I'll cost me £20 to shorten as it has two layers, but worth it.

Was home an hour later and enjoyed a coffee and the newspaper before catching up on a few jobs.
Finished my book club read after lunch, but slightly disappointed with the ending.
May start the first of the Rev Richard Coles murder series as a bit of light relief next.

New phone case and screen protector arrived yesterday so will fiddle around with that this morning. Love my new phone; it has a vastly improved keyboard!

Good morning from a foggy mid Essex, but last night’s sunset was lovely, as Redcar and Gingster have said. Back from a few days in Dorset, helping out with grandchildren, so the washing machine will be busy today. Hopefully a tennis lesson later.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp, 2°C and chilly. Himself has just wrapped up warmly to walk to the MacMillan centre for another reflexology session - one of six on offer. He finds them very relaxing and beneficial to his well being. Cancer has given him a completely different outlook in some aspects. For an alpha male he now goes alone to coffee mornings occasionally and books himself a monthly mani/pedi to look after his nails with a foot massage as well. I’m very proud of his outlook and mental strength. As he says he has learnt to “live with cancer”. Takes some resilience that’s for certain.

I of course am enjoying a second mug of TIB after which I intend to make myself a bowl of porridge with blueberries and bring it back to bed to enjoy. No rush for anything today and I’ve things to do the next two mornings so I like to pace myself!

Good morning Mick and all from a damp 6°C northwest coast.
DD arrived from the south yesterday and we enjoyed beef Wellington in the evening. It means I have to clear my dining room table of art and music materials, but also have a proper tidy up, which is a good thing.
.We then spent the evening chatting and watching news events, not my usual cup of tea, but it certainly was an eventful day news wise…

Singing at music club this afternoon and DD out with old school friends this evening.

Good morning, Mick and all. It's blue sky and sunshine here in East Lothian where we arrived on Saturday after a couple of days in Glasgow. I wanted to 'do' Celtic Connections. I think about it every year but it seems too soon after our usual Christmas or New Year trip up north. I decided I'm getting too old to put things off so we dipped a toe in the water with the opening concert and another the next evening and lots of walking round Glasgow, guide book in hand as so much has changed since my youth and I only knew certain areas. We went to The Tenement House (National
Trust for Scotland): a fascinating time capsule and story of a life lived at the turn of the 20th century through to the 1970s. The weather was ideal, no rain or wind and not too cold. I feel for the people going to the Celtic events this weekend - and for all living in Northern Ireland & Scotland, with this storm coming. We head home to West Sussex tomorrow. I have enjoyed a catch up with DD2 and DGS's and will miss them.

Annypop, I asked for Lego for Christmas when I was 12 but my parents þhought I was too old for toys and didn't get it. I'm glad you had such fun with yours.

Oh kittylester , how good to hear you visit Easingwold. If there was a possibility when you next come over I would love to meet you for coffee , it would be lovely to put a face to a name (Mind you I always think of I think it is really ketty Lester singing Love Letters in the Sand, one of my dads favourite and I enjoyed singing it too , so your name always stands out for me and I immediately have the tune running through my head!)

There is a very good restaurant at the Durham Ox at Crayke close to Easingwold and that is where occasionally my friend and I meet for a treat lunch as it is a good place to meet up. I have never had a poor meal there and so if you want a treat place for lunch with your sil I can recommend it. Valerie lives in the east riding, My oldest friend as I have known her for 77 years!! Oh on this grey and miserable day could do with some of that today, but will have to be content with getting a few jobs done . never mind I have Love letters in the sand to sing along to . Happy days
