Good morning on another chilly one in La Sarthe.

As we are still without the internet after more than two weeks here in France, I’m going to take a break from being online as it’s costing me too much in extra data. I’ll return next week when we’re in Torquay again.

That’s a pity re. Internet, Ash, I thought France was very well served and connected. Enjoy your little break.
We received a novella from our management company yesterday, saying that “stuff” would be dealt with faster, yadda, yadda, yadda. I hope it means that one of the residents who has been waiting over two year# for a flap for her letterbox gets one soon now. Another had been waiting about the same for a replacement to her blown double glazed window!
I went to my WI meeting. It could have been interesting but was about Bristol. Most of the members are either local, or have lived here since always. He also talked too fast, and, sadly the pictures were very difficult to see.
Today is free, unless I start going to the WI book group. After a year, no one is unfriendly but… so I know very few of the members to talk to and it might be a way of breaking the ice.

An errands tootle out later this afternoon after waving a duster around PGTowers this morning (wish I had some of those lovely cleaning fairies 🧚 I’ve read about on this thread, I have to make do with Mr PG and his stick vacuum - mustn’t grumble 😡, he is very trying…)

Good morning my friends I’m back again - too tired yesterday missed the breakfast post, aka gransnet post not the postman 🤣🤣it’s very dark and slightly warmer here on the east coast of Fife. kicked my jammy trousers off during the night my legs were too warm. Must look out a nighty for tonight. I also admit to watching the hype of America yesterday I had a change of heart about DT, for the best may I add its good to be so positive in life it should get you somewhere.

Good morning from Lancashire. Not quite so cold this morning. Keeping an eye on the weather forecast as it sounds rather dire!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but feels a little milder. 4 degrees outside apparently. Yesterday was mostly taken up with housework, laundry and a trip into the next village and back. I walked down to the supermarket later to stretch my legs, pick up my meds and post a card. On the way, my shoelace came undone and as there was nowhere to put my foot up, I was trying in vain to get down and tie it when a lady walking her dog came along and I asked if she could help. She was more than pleased to. People are very kind. The joys of getting old. Had a chat on the phone with GS in the evening. He seems to be pleased with the way his exams are going.
Volunteering this afternoon. Hopefully I’ll be able to walk to school and back if it doesn’t rain.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset feels chilly and the paths look damp.

Our wander into town was accompanied by icy rain yesterday. Somehow we forgot to take Mr C’s watch. Oh dear. We’ll try to do better locally today after dust removal and a grocery delivery this morning.

Thanks for telling us ash. Mr C is also in charge of the stick vacuum pantglas. I get very straight looks if I dare touch it.

Yesterday, after dropping off the boys, I was very lazy. I'm quite tired these days, so not a lot got done.
Today, once I drop them off at school/nursery, I'll make a steak casserole in the slow cooker. Then I'm going to a neighbour's for lunch. They are heading to their place in Lanzarote next week for a couple of months. Lovely people. Have a good day all.

Well to me it looks pitch dark outside but i can actually hear a couple of birds so dawn must be on the way.No sound of wind or rain but very cold again. I enjoyed my trip down to Easingwold yesterday, weary from the day before but anyway it was good and I was lucky. someone must have similar tastes to me, as I spent £17.50 in the charity shop on 50p books of all kinds! Got a few lovely clean hard back copies of Alexander McALL Smiths "No 1 Ladies Detective Agency" so will be swapping them for my older paperbacks. One of those copies to a friend you hasnt got that one and the rest to another charity shop. As I was late back and very tired I now have to spend a couple of hours catching up with th housework, the washing up and putting stuff away. All boring but necessary, and then if I feel up to it the very large and getting larger ironing mountain needs tackling, So hope there is a decent play or some good music on the radio this pm. Certainly do not want to watch DTon the tv. Oh come back Spitting image, what a great time you could have had with hm! Good morning all. 5deg and cloudy, chance of rain and glimpses of sunshine in Glasgow is today’s forecast.

A busier day yesterday, had a lovely long FaceTime blether with DD2 in Australia first thing in the morning followed by DD1 popping in for a coffee stop. Foutered around doing bits and pieces indoors and out before school pick up to have afternoon tea with DD1 and GD2 at mine. Lots of news to catch up on with GD who is planning to join a local David Lloyd Gym with her friend. Today I will pickup both girls from school and take them to the gym to fill in the necessary forms for joining.

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Today is just choir and dropping a card round to my friend's widower. DH has a volunteer drive.

Yesterday was very tiring. I batch cooked pasta sauce, sorted out the bird feeders and made some appointments before the Carer Learner course. We had 12 people on the course which is too many really. It makes keeping to time very difficult and the caretakers of the venue were almost tapping their feet waiting for us to go.

We love to visit Easingwold, Madeleine. My lovely SIL lives in a village very close by..

Nothing planned for today other than the usual school pick up and swimming lessons with the boys.

Looking forward to this evening, we are out to dinner with a group of our dearest friends. We decided before Christmas that we needed something to brighten up January.

Good Morning from Durham. Another grey day forecast, but temperatures could hit 7 degrees.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, the venue is changed, but I’m pleased to meet her anywhere. She has a lot of genuine health issues and been through a raft of tests with mixed results recently. It’s her birthday next week, so I’ll take her gift and card along today.

Good morning everyone from a chilly, damp and somewhat gloomy piece of south Glos, wouldn’t some sunshine be wonderful?
I spent yesterday pootling around tidying up and filling the bird feeders - we have a huge number of long-tailed tits at the moment, such a welcome sight!
I also dug out a Goldwork kit that I apparently bought in 2007 🫣, started but never finished., I will have a good look at it this morning and decide whether to repurpose it or carry on. To my surprise there was a second, I started one and the same bag so I have no excuse not to do something different with them if I choose to.
I was completely exhausted by early evening, in bed and asleep by 8pm!

Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s cold, dark and foggy. After a gloomy grey day yesterday, in late afternoon the sky cleared and we had a lovely sunset.
I had a longer walk, managed about half a mile!
Not sure what I’ll do today, I still have a bit of ironing to do, and really ought to push some dust about.

I do love being with a group of older women for a couple of hours, so cheery, making the best of things and so much knowledge between them. Properly uplifting on a dull damp day

The weather is not at all nice, so humid that all surfaces are wet outside. Cold too and feeling colder because of no sun.

Today needs to be indoors so the usual jobs, financial sorting and a lot of knitting and as always, one eye on using what I already have

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark, rainy Carlisle. It will probably be wet all day. Yesterday the drizzle started up mid-morning and the rest of the day was dark and dreary.
I just got on with things, housework in the morning, admin and reading in the afternoon. Today will be much the same plus the tedious job of chasing people who aren't getting things done!

Oh, yes Madeleine, what a fantastic fun subject for Spitting Image DT would be! DH and I were keen fans. I still chuckle at the thought of Margaret Thatcher and her 'vegetables'.

I have been dozing since 3.30 am with a bunged up nose.

It is OH’s 73rd birthday today. I have booked lunch for us.

I had good news yesterday. My new car should arrive at the dealership tomorrow. Once it’s there and I have the number plate to insure it (and I’ve paid) I can collect it in exchange for my current car. I’m quite excited!

I didn’t watch any of the news yesterday. Too depressing.

We enjoyed another lovely day yesterday, it was cloudy and mild but rained in the afternoon. We popped into a lovely big hotel right near the beach and sat with a coffee in the comfy chairs looking out at the sea. Today we’re planning a trip up the coast to Marbella and then a walk from there along the seafront to Puerto Banús. Lots of flat easy walking that suits us fine

Good morning from a dreary County Durham.

The last of my Lego sales will go today. I couldn't help reminisce the many hours I spent playing with it as a child with my younger sister, no longer with us. It was by far the best Christmas present I ever received. My DC and GC have all experienced the joy of playing with it, now it's time for someone new. Far better than being hidden away under a bed.

School pick up later for the youngest one, the two boys are attending after school clubs this term. GD2 and I will bake some cakes for them to enjoy after tea. At least that will keep her happily occupied as she's unused to being without the boys company.

Good morning from a dark and chilly Black Country.

u3a canal group meeting yesterday morning. Halfway through there was a medical emergency and an ambulance was called. Luckily the man involved seemed to suddenly be up and talking. Paramedics arrived within about 20 mins! Took him to Hospital apparently. Put the damper on the rest of the meeting though.

The afternoon, met my friend for Line Dancing, we are not beginners now so go a bit later for 90 minutes of dancing! We arranged to go for lunch next week in Birmingham to celebrate belatedly our birthdays

Today have an appointment to take Mum to Doctors for a Dementia check up. Obviously I just tell her it is a general check up. Her reply? I wish they would leave me alone!
