If you want totally lush dried cranberries the biggest and best I've ever had are the Anthrap ones. Still sugared of course but somehow also deliciously tart. I buy them in 1kg bags. Can get them from the company or Amazon...Probably elsewhere too.

I love truffles and a cheaper (not cheap) alternative is a mushroom/truffle paste that goes into anything easily and keeps quite a while in the fridge.
Used to be able to get it in my local Sainsbury's but sadly no more.
The one I like is made by L'Aquila. It's not too pungent for a "fancy" quick supper with any extra chopped mushrooms and some pasta.. All my family like this.
Dot it on pizza or halved baked tomato's, put some in/on eggs... it's like a pesto.

I had a jar in my stocking! Don't know where Santa found it.. maybe a Sainsbury's near my daughter???

Also, as this is a place for all sorts of deliciousness I want to say how much I love the Highgrove tea. It's just right for me.

I also loved the Rogue Negroni Marmalade even though not really a marmalade person - but think they've gone out of business...

Invest in some really juicy fat dates, the best are from Bam in Iran, and enjoy them with a fragrant black tea, Earl grey with regular tea in a pot is nice. In the ME this is dessert and is much healthier.

Mt61 - Try an Auld’s scotch pie! I heartily recommend for flavour and texture. So many Scotch pies now are very dry.

Have you tried palettes? Kale sprouts, loose and frilly with a lovely dark red tinge. Absolutely delicious, much nicer than sprouts or kale and must be really good for you . Sainsbury's have them at the moment, but I think the season may be short.

If you’re anywhere near Callander in Stirling try Mhor bakery for pies might be a bit of a journey for you …Failing that a good local butcher.

TimTams, chocolate biscuits from Oz are now sold at Waitrose. So much nicer than Penguin biscuits. I have to be very brave and only buy a packet at a time. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate or caramel ones I love them all.

Ah I have been forced to check after reading of your best choice of |Borders dark chocolate gingers, and would beg to differ. What about the lovely dark chocolate raspberry/ i have had to just eat one to reassure myself that this is my choice¬¬Really plain ginger biscuits are made for dunking into coffee, and this is an art, to gauge it to be just right to eat, and my husband used to say "I hope it drops off in your coffee! (My mother would never allow us to dunk anything so had to learn the devious method of biting a biscuit and then taking a drink of my coffee, for which I would get a hard stare and I would try to look innocent and have no idea why she was looking at me!!

Marmalade and mashed banana together on hot buttered toast. My Sunday breakfast treat.

I've only recently discovered Wensleydale cheese. The one with cranberries is particularly good.
And there's a small chocolate biscuit called Gold (wrapped in gold paper)
which is creamy and gorgeous.
But I'm on a diet now so shan't eat them for a while

I’m another Mackies ice-cream fan, especially the Scottish Tablet and the Honeycombe.
Tesco Finest Lemon Shortie, although it could/should be even more lemony imo.
Tesco Vegetable Pizza, very nice indeed and only £1.65.
Belazu Black Olive Tapenade and Belazu Roasted Tomato Paste.
Manomasa Tortilla Chips, there are several flavours, the Manchego and Green Olive is my favourite. Both Waitrose and Asda stock these.
Lidl and M&S versions of Jaffa Cakes, both are much nicer than the McVitie’s ones.

I too like marmalade and mashed banàna on toast, but I add smooth peanut butter as well.

I also like a banana and avocado smoothie made in my 50 year old Moulinex electric blender. One banana, one avocado and a mug of milk.

Border's chocolate ginger biscuits are great but please try the chocolate raspberry biscuits too. Thicker than the chocolate ginger ones and delicious.

While hiding from the storm yesterday, I opened a packet of Lu Le Petit Beurre biscuits. They were delicious, so much so that I seem to have eaten the whole packet.
Do you have anything you would like to recommend? It may be a foodstuff or product you have tried, or perhaps a household ‘handy hint’.
